I used to post Steven Universe parallels until I became a Post PA on the show. Personal Tumblr: tvma  ~ Twitter: therissev

so I was rewatching su and I’m 90% sure Centipeetle was/is a Quartz warrior?

I mean every Quartz we’ve seen has had the wild, white hair

She (in her corrupted form) has  gem armor similar to Jasper’s

There’s a few frames during her reforming animation that show her old humanoid form, and she’s about Quartz-sized. (edit: it only showed one regeneration, so it’s safe to assume she’s a very young gem like Peridot.)

Also I’m pretty sure her gem is a chrysoprase, which is a green quartz. (This is the closest picture to her gem.)

She’s the only corrupted gem so far who has showed any degree of higher intelligence, and she clearly loves Steven.

idk I hope she makes a reappearance in this season or the next. she could be his first gem fusion. he’s the first friend she’s had in thousands of years.

Quick Rose Quartz theory

A good number of my friends are saying they think that Rose Quartz is Pink Diamond. However, she is not Pink Diamond, in fact, my theory is that Rose was a high ranking general under PD who went rogue, and I have evidence to support that theory.

Rose is too small to be a diamond. Yea, she’s big, but diamonds are HUGE, probably about the size of Sardonyx. Her gem, a quartz crystal, is similar in shape to Amethyst’s, who is also a quartz.

Peridot said that a quartz is a high ranking soldier, and since everyone seems to know her, you can easily conclude that she was a general under Pink Diamond.

More evidence that Rose is a quartz and not a diamond:

- The shape of her gem is similar to Amethyst and not to Blue Diamond or Yellow Diamond.

- She has long, wild hair like Jasper and Amethyst

- She is the same size as Jasper, a non-defective Quartz

- When she broke up the Ruby fusion in “The Answer”, it’s implied she used an attack similar to Jasper/Amethyst’s spin attack

- Her name is Rose QUARTZ not Rose DIAMOND

- Ok, imagine Rose used to be Pink Diamond. With the type of respect and unquestioned loyalty a diamond’s court has to their diamond, why would the rebellion start out as such a small, fringe group of gems and not as all of Pink Diamond’s court? Pink Diamond’s court would look more like the Fire nation in Avatar the Last Airbender, going to war with all of gem society. The rebellion wouldn’t be a ragtag team of defective gems and it certainly wouldn’t be referred to as a rebellion.

The thought occurs to me, if Rose is Pink Diamond, them what if the reason she's so small compared to the other Diamonds is the same reason Amethyst is so small? What if Rose was a RUNT Diamond, but a Diamond all the same?

Because of how much more Rose has in common with Jasper than she does with any of the diamonds, I’m not on board with the idea that Rose used to be a diamond.

There’s plenty of support to show that Rose was a high ranking gem that was a part of Pink Diamond’s court and that Pink Diamond is no longer a leader in Gem society, but at this point, it feels like grasping at straws to try and fit Rose into a “fallen diamond” category.

With that said, if Rose was a “runt” diamond, Jasper would’ve used language to suggest Rose was defective instead of praising her as a powerful gem warrior.

Filed under: Things that are really messing with my head right now because this entire week has been alternating between building up and tearing down the Rose is Pink Diamond theory.

The Diamond Authority symbol, as seen on several occasions, notably on pre-rebellion sites:

And the Diamonds we’ve seen (we know the murals are relatively accurate, if stylised, representations because we’ve seen Blue and Yellow Diamond at least in silhouette and the resemblance is clear) - Pink is of course conspicuously absent:

White Diamond
Blue Diamond
Yellow Diamond

Clearly a Diamond’s place in the insignia corresponds to her gem placement - White’s is on her head, and Blue and Yellow both have gems on their chests.

Again, an example from the most recent episode:

And an example of the post-rebellion version, where this remains consistent:

Huh, wonder where this is implying Pink Diamond’s gem is placed?

Anonymous asked:

What if pink diamond fused with somebody else to become Rose Quartz? It would explain the different name, as well as her being HUGE (which is a defining part of her character)

I do think Rose is Pink Diamond but not a fusion. We can see that Yellow Diamond and Blue Diamond are both big, so it would make sense that Rose is big too

Rose is nowhere near as big as the Diamonds. Look at Blue Diamond next to Blue Pearl vs Rose next to Crystal Gem Pearl:

Lapis is about the size of Pearl and look at her next to Jasper:

If Rose was the size of a Diamond, Pearl would be up to her knee not her shoulder. Instead, Rose is roughly Quartz size (like Jasper) just as her name suggests.

I just noticed

That totem pole from Maximum Capacity, it has the Temple Gem holding Rose’s weapons, and a fusion including Jasper on it (extra arms, and a way too prominent brow - can’t just be her alone) is holding two whole gems.

Topped by this thing from Giant Woman.

That thing? Full of bubbled gems. Not shards, whole gems.

In a familiar

Pink

 Color.

What have you done?

Pearls have been/are a servant class on Homeworld

Our Pearl is:

  • Good at teaching
  • Good at fixing things
  • Super loyal to figures of authority/maybe royalty to the point of adoration/love
  • Loves doing chores

And speaking of loyalty being among her qualities, what is Pearl doing when Jasper calls her a ‘defective Pearl’?

She’s in open defiance to Jasper, who may/probably(?) be of a higher rank to Pearls.

There’s also her line in ‘Do It For Her’: “deep down, you know you weren’t built for fighting.” Of course, this implies she WAS built for something else. And, for someone who was NOT built for fighting, she sure does own an extensive collection of weapons given that she can summon her own.

It’s possible that she used to have problems summoning a weapon at all and relied on the use of these weapons back during the war.

She’s a skilled swordsman, after all, and the weapon she summons isn’t even a sword. Her expertise in the area is nonetheless the result of very rigorous and devoted training.

And, if you subscribe to the theory that Peridots and Pearls are closely related on Homeworld, then it’s noteworthy that Peridot, who actively avoids physical conflict while following Jasper’s orders (which would only prove Jasper’s superiority over Pearl in Gem society), hasn’t summoned a weapon of her own yet, either. And a recent Ian Jones-Quartey tweet indicates that she might not be able to at all.

Our guess is that Pearls and Peridots are worker classes who, on Homeworld, are not instructed about summoning weapons from their gems.

Mind you, this was posted before Friend Ship.

2 months later, we now know that Peridot cannot summon a weapon out of her gem either.
