Progress is being made on this! Tbh not happy with this shot, but I gotta just buck up and move on.
I don't think I've mentioned it here, but I'm doing the big, scary career thing where I move to LA this month(it's either the worst or best time to do it, we'll roll the dice I guess). So expect updates on this to continue to be slow for a bit as I wrap up my work in Texas and prep for my move.
I was hoping to get the animation done before the new WWWO arc happened, but 'twas a fool's errand.
If folks were wondering what scene I was animating, this preview should make it clear. HUGE spoilers for Ep. 32.
Gonna continue with these incremental updates, this project is a lot more than the other fan animations I've done. Literally just a whole-ass scene as if it were an animated show lol
Also, another behind-the-scenes thing: in order to make animating Mirara not a tedious nightmare, I went ahead and made a quick 3D model of her mask/crown in Blender that I then imported it into Clip Studio Paint to use for this scene.
As you can see I'm still drawing on top of the model and painting in lighting by hand, but I've learned over the years what corners to cut to make stuff good and fast lol
(Also I know their familiars should be here too, but there's no dialogue from them in the audio I'm using and I gotta cut myself some slack somewhere lol)
Did a bit of stuff today. First two pieces of art for the next animation.
Oh, and the 3D background I put together in blender to help move things along a little faster lol
It's becoming a bit of a tradition for me to make Worlds Beyond Number animations at the end of a season, but it just sorta works out that when they go on break I end up having some time and a desire to decompress with a low-stakes personal project haha
Anyway, I'm gonna be trying a more ambitious 3-minute animation soon. I'll probably post some work-in-progress stuff as I make headway, since I won't be able to do it over the weekend like the other two.
Here's an animation-friendly Gramore design I did a few days ago in the meantime. Gonna end up doing these for all the witches for the animation. Ended up being a bit Mike Mignola, but I also think that kind of angularity and comic book style shadow inking is kinda what I'm gravitating to lately in general.
I thought it'd be a fun warm-up project today before I get some work done. It got away from me a bit.

I noticed another parallel to the Children's Adventure in the latest WBN episode, and I decided to put far too much effort into making it everybody else's problem.
Been too busy working on my short film to finish that TWTWATWO animation I started just yet, but I decided to take a couple hours of my time to put together this little animatic after listening to part of this Fireside Chat(Episode 17).

Working on the actual 'The Wizard the Witch and the Wild One" animation I've been intending to make(the other one was just a fun thing I noticed and decided to animate as well). This one will be a full scene. I may want to make Ame's nest a bit messier before I actually finalize the video.
I don't know how long it'll take, it may be a couple weeks, it might be just one. Hard to say.

Considering "The Wizard, the Witch, and the Wild One" for my next animated thing, because I really like it and there's not much animation for it right now.
I'm gonna try to REALLY go for a faux-Ghibli look. Wanna make something as authentic as my skills can allow.
