So in Marvel’s Avengers, one of the audio file sets you can collect for the codex is Missives from Odinson, a series of letters Thor wrote during his five year exile, some sent, others unsent. The last of these is an unsent letter to Steve some time after he’s presumed dead in the game’s intro, and I just-

TANELEER TIVAN FINDING STEVE AND KEEPING HIM IN HIS COLLECTION PLEASE

We've already seen he has no trouble keeping sentient beings in cages, so the moment Steve walks in (probably to ask for help, being stranded on a strange planet and all) Tivan already has no intention to let him leave. (Maybe he has some Tesseract residue on him as well/absorbed some of its energy which only makes him more unusual).

Next thing he knows the dude is keeping him in a box and gushing about his collection while Steve and the other creatures are just looking at him horrified.

When the Asgardians come for their business, Steve escapes and leads the way for the other creatures. He runs right into Thor, and immediately asks for help. Thor rushes him out, no questions asked. He knows the kind of man Tivan is, he doesn't need to ask.

THE CURSE ONE Y E S. I was thinking maybe a wolf-like creature!! A cross between a wolf and a fox would be absolutely amazing. He's middle-sized, with a beautiful coat desired by any hunter. He has large, pointy ears and a gorgeous bushy tail.

Something a lot like >>this<< (but maybe more blueish?👀)

The curse is that he would be any hunter's dream, and any normal person's fear, so he's forced to stay away from the city and smaller villages of the planet. He lives in the mountains, mostly, keeping to himself.

Then one day, the gallop of a horse wakes him from his sleep. He runs off to hide, but in his half-asleep state he runs the wrong way and he gets spotted. Thor can't believe his eyes, and when he finally can he knows he has to have this creature.

It turns into a game of cat and mouse, though Steve enjoys it far less than Thor does. When he finally has Steve cornered, Thor is about to use his bow to end it when..... he can't do it. He just can't. Thor grands the creature mercy and lets it go. Steve can't believe it.

Maybe Steve returns the favor later, when Thor is threatened by another creature and Steve scares it off. Maybe he gets hurt in the process too, and Thor has to carry him in his arms back to the infirmary to heal him🥰

And so, Steve is a guest in the house of Odin. Odin himself is skeptical and a tad annoyed, but Frigga is endeared by it and so, obviously, Steve stays💕

bless Thor for giving Steve his first opportunity to get wasted in 70 years

Allow me to spice things up: so, Thor claims victory and shackles him, tugging hard at his wrists and Steve really has to put in effort to keep pretending he's sad he lost. Thor pulls him up to his feet and in close as he calls out for Heimdall to open the bridge.

And there in Asgard, he shoves Steve against the wall. "Speak, human," Thor growls, face's near touching as he's leaning in close. "Tell me what you seek here."

"Or?" Steve asks.

"Or I shall make you."

Though he knows he should be more worried, with an overcompensating Thor, a scary Odin, and a bunch of Asgardians who have not yet learned to value all life, he can't help but feel... excited when Thor is manhandling him, shoving him around.

He isn't treated like he's delicate, and he likes it.

All Asgardians have enhanced psychology, so imagine them thinking Steve is "frail" (they don't like to use that word because they respect humans, but pls they always burn in the sun and get hurt so easily😭), like Jane, but then they see Thor full-body shove Steve into a wall and the stone cracks, so immediately a few people are jumping to provide aid, but Steve just has the biggest, shit-eating grin on his face and then hurls himself right back into Thor twice as hard.

First they think he's a fragile flower, then they think he must be a cocky jock like Thor, but then he shows an incredibly polite, soft side of him and the Asgardians are like ???

He bests some of their fighters in training with raw strength and amazing skill, but then he lies in the lush grass in the sunlight, weaving a crown of flowers as a gift for Thor.

Frigga is doting on him at first sight (she'd recognize a mama's boy anywhere), insisting on some clothes and food and something to drink right away. Steve almost cried, being reminded of his own mom like that.

Thor is putting up a show for his courting, and to Steve it's endearing, but the rest groan in unison because here he goes again. The Warriors Three immediately start hyping Thor up to Steve, though...

"Have you heard the story of when Thor took out three Bilgesnipes?"

"Thor once ate twenty oxen in one go!"

"Did you know Thor can split the earth with his bare hands?"

Besides that, I feel like Heimdall and Steve would like each other. I don't know why, but I can picture them sitting together in the Observatory in silence so well, Heimdall watching the universe and Steve sketching. Sometimes Steve will ask Heimdall what he sees, and as Heimdall explains Steve tries to draw it. Steve leaves all his drawings in the Observatory, and though neither really talks about it, Heimdall keeps every single one.

Once, Heimdall lend Steve his sight, so he could look at the galaxy himself.
