And it's strange Marvel didn't do more of it, since the story is famously strange and strangely famous. It was well-recieved for all its goofiness and twists and turns, though it does have somewhat of a reputation for being "unnecessary" in the comic fandom (which I don't agree with, everyone needs some Capwolf in their lives). Some even call it the "peak of 90s Marvel"!
Capwolf was put into other media later, such as Earth-13122, better known as LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2.
Earth-19919 - here he got changed into a Spider-Mutant by a virus and later further mutated into a werewolf.
Captain America Vol 1 402: the "Man and Wolf" story arc (there are 6 parts) (this is the one I was previously showing with the wolf revolution)
And then there's this other one that I have screenshots of, but I just can't remember which comic it is!!! I know it's a Halloween special, but finding the names of comics is an absolute disaster, let me tell you that.

ok so upon rewatching cap2 i noticed that steve rogers goes and sees sam wilson at the VA during the day and they have the “are you happy?” scene with steve staring at sam like he’s the fucking sun then it cuts to nick fury car scene and then steve’s coming home at night.
steve spent all that time doing what? i’ll bet it’s sam wilson feel free to disagree but ur absolutely wrong and sam took one look at steve’s awkward hands-in-my-pockets routine and sincere eyes and said “…my lunch starts in 10”

Sam is a jokester kind of guy, but in a sweet way. Like you can laugh with him instead of feeling laughed at. He always seems to be aware of time, place, posture and tone of voice when he makes jokes.
I just think they wrote that really well because Sam always comes across as a genuinely kind, hopeful and respectful person, and that's just so great to see. It's so comforting💙

i need more sambucky fics where sam is bucky’s first choice and not a replacement for steve. why can’t steve just be the supportive bestie for both of them? or if you hate steve just leave him out of the story altogether.
This is the thing I really don’t understand in many of these past-Stevebucky stories where Sam is shoved at the end to give Bucky a hug or something. It’s obviously horrible towards Sam, which we discuss most often (because it’s the most serious issue), but honestly it’s unfair to all three characters if you think about it for more that one minute…
If you write stories like that:
1. You treat Sam like a poor-quality replacement for Steve that Bucky picked for lack of a better option. You act like only Bucky’s feelings matter in the situation and Sam has no say in the relationship he’s a part of. When it’s not straight up racist it’s just generally disrespectful and unfair towards a character who has his own depth, emotions, and problems.
2. You act like Steve’s entire existence revolves around fixing Bucky and solving his problems. His wishes and his own happiness do not matter if they’re not connected with the ship you like. (Even if you don’t like Steve’s ending, writing him that way still feels like you don’t give a shit about him if he’s not attached to Bucky at all times.)
3. You make Bucky look like a complete asshole who cannot get over his part friend/lover and doesn’t even try to see Sam as a person. He just selfishly jumps into another relationship to forget about the last one, which makes it sound like he would’ve picked anyone to fill Steve’s place if Sam wasn’t there. His entire personality is hating Steve for prioritising his own life and being sad. And… well, Sam is there, so he may as well use him to dull the pain.

People who write these fics often claim that they “love Sam Wilson” to deflect criticism and I don’t really believe them, because it’s often provable bullshit. But I believe that they actually liked Steve and Bucky. So I truly don’t get why they do everything to portray them as selfish, self-centered, often rather racist people… Like… How do you say “I love Bucky so much!” and then write a story where all he does is get angry at one friend for not devoting his life to him and treat the other friend like he’s some sort of therapist with good advice and a shoulder to cry, nothing more. It’s so weird… How do you justify it to yourself?
