People are freaking out about the UFOs being shot down across the world.
Imagine being a species that has found out how to do FTL, either by slipping into another dimension or by creating wormholes. You have crafted vehicles that have no clear, external propulsion system.
And you’re shot down by an ape in a vehicle made of steel, moving at only double the speed of sound, powered by exploding dead animals.
Their weapon of choice? A steel tube (also powered by exploding dead animals) that blows up if it hits you.
They’re not aliens. Or they are and they have zero offensive or defensive ability.
From what I’ve seen and read on some of the major supposed UFO encounters we’ve had before there is no way the shot-down UFOs are actually alien spacecraft. The alien UFOs just move too damn fast. The only reason I can think of to not deny such claims immediately before the press is because the only other suspects are other countries (china) and we don’t want to go to war by pointing fingers.

I don't watch Templin Institute because it's very surface level with every lore video.
What happened?
They jumped on the bandwagon of "I want female space marines regardless of what the lore says" and when people on twitter, even some notables in the 40k community, said that this wasn't right and that lore was important, templin flew off the handle and insulted the entire fanbase, refused to defend their point when challenged and only said "i'll destroy all your arguments in a video"
the argument in the video was "it should happen because it's time for it to happen" and as you can see, not very well received.
I'm counting down until they throw an even bigger fit at their lost subs and refuse to cover 40k all together out of spite.

I happened to watch the templin video on FSM to the end. Their “point” from my understanding was less “it should happen because it’s time for it to happen” and more;
“the lore is known to be written by unreliable narrators. We the audience see almost everything from the imperium’s point of view, and inquisition and ecclesiarchy censor and revise history all the time. Therefore it’s not impossible to claim there have always been female space marines and you never saw their faces, learned their names, etc because the imperium is bad at keeping the record straight on its history.”
Which is dumb, and discounts the tales told outside the imperium’s perspective. The argument boils down to “nothing matters because there’s a chance higher than 0 that it’s all a lie.”
That shit flies for the alpha legion, but not the entire ridiculous massiveness of everything in 40k.
The new Dead Space Remake has constant Content Warnings flashing on the scene when you're about to see someone die or hear an audio log of someone muttering to themselves.
That's what I'm hearing. That's disappointing that they'd just sledgehammer their game's immersion like that.
A content warning when you boot up the game is all you really need. Anything else is intrusive to the actual game experience and causes people to lose immersion. Which is odd, considering Dead Space is known as one of the most immersive games ever, being 99% diegetic UI.
I can't handle horror at all and even I think that's a terrible decision on the part of the developers.
There is a content warning about gore and epilepsy at the start but it can be disabled.

Male gorillas are super aggressive and territorial. Also they interpret nearly every human mannerism as a sign of aggression or a challenge. Smiling and eye contact are both things that zookeepers have to be taught to suppress when they’re in the vicinity of gorillas.

This is all irrelevant because the obvious answer is five black mambas. I mean, that’s not actually very many snakes, and malls are fucking huge. And unlike a gorilla you can definitely outrun a snake if it does show up. Find an open space in the mall where you can see any snake coming and just hangout out there. Fucking easy.
Misguided! I would much rather have a mallmate I can easily see and hear coming. I'm confident I can stay out of the gorilla's way, but if I step on a snake or one otherwise gets the jump on me, it's all over.
It's not just about the physical danger either, it's about my mental health. One gorilla, unless he's actively mad at me, I just keep a healthy distance between us and make sure I never get trapped. With the snakes, it requires a lot more constant vigilance
They should substitute "chimpanzee" for "gorilla" in this hypothetical.

Black mambas have a reputation build on being very venomous and very fast. I'm not sure why you would think you could outrun one (or five) in an enclosed space like a mall.
Malls usually have pretty slick floors, and escalators. I’d choose the gorilla simply because I think that would make an more interesting story (and a better-selling autobiography, I Survived the Mall Gorilla) but I think I’d stand a pretty good chance at avoiding the mamba. They’re fast and aggressive and will chase you but unless we started immediately beside each other I think my sneakers would have the terrain advantage over scutes.

I think the silly naming conventions has something to do with how the formulas for each paint has to be different from another company’s. Even if only slightly. That way company 1 can’t sue company 2 for their red paint because it’s not the same formula.
