STANDVERSE AU: Killer Queen's Cat Cafe // The Crimson Court

As an ode to her beloved user, Queen created a comfortable and quiet lounge. It's made to fit a large crowd, but she only ever invites her few new allies.

Meanwhile, in the name of his User(s), King Crimson is rebuilding their kingdom, bringing their tyranny onto the Flipside (with Epitaph of course).

I was thinking about Echoes, As One Does In Life, and it suddenly clicked on how Act 3 fits into everything

so like. Obviously out of the three, Act 3's powers feel like an outlier. We have Act 1's Sound Generation, Act 2's Sound Effects, and Act 3's Weight Manipulation. If you look at it like that, it's very obvious why Act 3 doesn't line up

however, if you look at it differently, it makes a lot more sense. Specifically, you have to not compare the powers themselves but the situations that brought about them

Act 1: Kobayashi kept managing to manipulate the situation with his words

Act 2: Yukako was too powerful to fight by himself and he needed to be stronger. Words weren't enough and he was ready to fight.

Act 3: Sheer Heart Attack was something Koichi couldn't fight. It was too powerful to break, but Koichi also couldn't run away and leave Jotaro behind

If you look at it like this, suddenly it makes sense:

Echoes always evolved into what Koichi needed at the time

With Kobayashi, Koichi used the powers to get his mom to listen to him and to essentially drown Tanami out. With Yukako, it gave him the combative edge he needed to fight back. With Sheer Heart Attack it let him stop a seemingly indestructible attack in its tracks

every single time Echoes gave him almost exactly what he needed to win the fight and specifically that fight. It also makes sense when comparing the evolutions of 2 and 3. With Act 2, Koichi's desires could be described as more.... vague. He just wanted to fight back.

However, if you compare it to Act 3, Koichi specifically wanted something to stop a target that couldn't be destroyed or outrun. He needed something to stop or slow it down enough for help to arrive, but in the process this ended up leaving him vulnerable to a different kind of attack, see: when Kira showed up with Killer Queen, who had a completely different set of strengths and weaknesses

my brain was set on cringe mode again today 🤡

so actor au BUT stands are an actual thing that's real but the rest are fictional. The characters are fictional, the story is fictional too, while stands are a thing.

Okay so I’m seeing two possibilities for how that could go for actors:

One, they just write in the actor’s Stand as being the characters and slightly change the performance of the ability as needed to make it line up with the plot/character better. Like, say a Stand has the ability to manipulate weight, they instead portray it as just being able to make things heavier

Or Two, Stand Props and makeup are now a thing and they use special affects to make it look like it’s doing a different thing entirely

Also, so many different kinds of Stand would have it absolutely MADE in the special affects/theater tech and crew industry

Ooh, I have some ideas for actors' stands that could mimic canon stands in some way or another (otherwise known as "we have *stand* at home".)

Echoes: Shapeshifting, both itself and objects around it.

The Hand: Folding.

Kiss: Illusory copies.

The Emperor: The gun isn't a stand. The bullets, however...

Purple Haze: The gas causes mild nausea.

Spice Girl: Elasticity instead of general softness

RHCP: Electricity is less powerful. Not actually Akira's stand, but they get along (to the dismay of everyone.)

Jotaro's stand: Not actually Star Platinum. It changes wind currents. Very useful for 'stand jumps' and also the only reason the Enya fight ended the way it did. Joot might also have been on effects duty outside of parts 3-6.

FGBTYHGTDBDT OH I LOVE THAT-

I had another idea for Purple Haze if you will: what if it's just. Colored smokescreens. It can control the color and how thick the smoke is with minimal affects to those who breathe it in

Love Deluxe actually has a manifestation and has an ability along the lines of "string manipulation" which works great for Yukako

there are actually LOADS more Sex Pistols and they like to swap out between scenes for shits and giggles

Manhattan Transfer actually has an ability, being essentially a magic key ring

Sex Pistols was originally manifested for like. An assault rifle. There are multiple bloopers of #4 deciding to jump out and "scare" Mista.

Fugo joins the 'outside-of-part special effects crew' gang. He and Jotaro work very well together.

YESSSSSSSSSS

the Pistols are just as chaotic and insane as they act in the show and they’re not ashamed of it, and Mister sloppy begins to adopt and get attached to them

and just. OUGH I love the mental image of Jotaro and Fugo working together. With Not-Star’s wind and Haze’s Smoke, they’re single handedly responsible for like. 95% of every Colored Magic Cloud affect in the entire show. Not-Star's wind is perfect for shaping and making them move just right, and Fugo's smoke is perfect for making any misty smoke they could ever need

Ooh a few more ideas!

Kira 8 was always Sheer Heart Attack's User, he was one of the many stand users who 'lent' their stand. Killer Queen is a played by an actor in both parts though.

D4C's normal ability is just the hiding part of its canon ability, no alternate timeline nonsense involved. Just the ability to hide in between two objects.

Scary Monsters is not a Stand. They just had trained dinosaurs on hand because a completely different Stand brought them back to modern day. Dinosaurs are just A Thing in this universe that people have gotten used to.

Trish is the younger relative of Diavolo and Doppio, and heaven help you if you hurt her because the devil and his aide will have no mercy.

HRBVHDRBSHVSBRVS OH I LOVE THIS-

only Tusk Act 1 exists and it's ability actually a has to do with clinging to someone, the rest of the Acts were either puppets or people in suits

Doppio and Diavolo are siblings and Trish is their cousin, and plot twist all three of them agree Doppio is The Terrifying One, which Doppio takes a lot of pride in

Paisley Park is Yasuho's twin sister and on the days they're feeling chaotic they pretend to be each other off set (there have also been a few times when they've accidentally be confused for the other by production staff. Yasuho actually corrects them, Paisley on the other hand waits to see how long it takes from them to notice)

Au that Killer Queen from part four is the same one from part eight. Kq doesn't know this new Kira well but goddamn if they won't protect him with everything they've got

.............oh

oh no

Killer Queen doesn't know what's happened. One second it could feel its User fading, fading, fading he was dying he was dying and it could do nothing then it begins to feel strange as its User's friend feeds him the fruit they were growing and it hurts, it burns, it feels nothing now it is the one fading, but it will fade if that will save its User it would do anything for him-

but then it's awake.

and the tether to its User is back........ but it's different. This is not its User, its User had black hair not blond, he wore white not purple, he had a star mark on his shoulder and this man has nothing there

but he has its User's name and it is tethered to him, so this must be its User

Things must have turned out fine after its User ate the Rocacaca, the blonde hair was just a side affect and his memory was a bit broken, that why he didn't recognize it, that had to be why

Killer Queen is going to keep its User safe. It was going to protect him until he got his memories back and when he did they could go back to how things normally were when they worked at the hospital together and helped Mom and hung out with Josefumi and things were good

It was going to make this happen

KQ starts doing a bit of what Star Platinum did in the beginning, only this time it's stealing things like medical textbooks, green foods, and helping him catalog his nail clippings. It even tries guiding him to the ocean to watch boats (but oddly enough always stops him from getting anywhere close to the pier)

And Kira……. is honestly at a loss. Sure his dad said Stands were weird, and yeah things already were weird because learning the reflection of his soul was a Giant Pink Cat In Minimal Clothing was….. something, but KQ’s behavior takes it to a WHOLE new level of Weirdness

And KQ is……. definitely conflicted with Kira’s whole murder thing. On one hand, it’s User was a doctor. He saved lives, not end them. But at the same time, It’s User Knows Best and KQ is going to do anything and everything it can to support him no matter what it takes

I had. A Thought. What if, by the end of Part 4, Killer Queen is fully fed up. He realizes that no, this isn't their user. Not really. So at the very last moment, they jump ship.

To whom? Well that's the question. This world's Jotaro would be one option, but he already has the stand. So... who else is there?

Well, how about the boy that had, for a short time, played host to a part of them?

(Hayato is going to need so much therapy.)

OKAY THIS ACTUALLY REMINDS ME OF A SEPARATE AU I MADE A G E S AGO SO IM SMOOSHING IT WITH THIS ONE

Basically the AU was that after the fight with Kira, Bites The Dust sort of…… lingered with Hayato

So Killer Queen was gradually being pushed to its limit. It was already uncomfortable with all the murders, but Kira was just confused and wasn't remembering properly, that’s all……

but then he killed Shigechi with barely a second thought and without even a pinch of guilt

and this…… this starts cracking KQ’s ideas. Because it’s User……. yes he could be a bit rude and standoffish but he would NEVER hurt a child. He saved them, not killed them-

Centipede Shoes only makes things worse. Kira wasn't supposed to be cruel, he was never cruel, he would never torture someone, not like the people on the boat, the boat where everything went wrong, where the bond faded and came back-

this is when KQ starts to think that this...... this might not be its User

Hayato is the last straw and the final fight is....... almost laughably easy as a result. KQ refuses to return to Kira when Josuke shows up, leading him getting destroyed. He still gets run over by an ambulance, but this time the circumstances could be different

Now, as expected, everyone's highkey freaking out by Hayato now having Killer Queen but the Stand is........ surprisingly chill? Like, it's not threatening anyone, hurting Hayato, exploding anything, nothing. It just. Vibes

maybe Hayato's the one to discover KQ's actually sentient. Maybe he notices its weird behavior, and unlike Kira actually tries to make sense of it, probably with the help of some pencils and paper

now, Hayato is still VERY traumatized. Kira fucked him up badly and that's not going to go away any time soon. KQ's presence is...... a bit of a double sided blade. On one hand, KQ is an immediate reminder of everything that happened, but on the other hand, being one of the only beings who remembers what happened in the time loops, they're able to offer a sense of comfort that no one else can. It serves as proof that what happened did happen and it wasn't just a nightmare

Also, completely separate from Hayato, I like to imagine that whenever Holly visits Killer Queen is just so affectionate. Hugs, kitty nuzzles, purrs, everything. If she so much as sneezes KQ is immediately panicking and trying to figure out what's wrong

Hmm... a Thought. Killer Queen operates differently between the two Kiras, right? For Kira 8, KQ produced explosive bubbles, and Sheer Heart Attack was a much more precision-controlled and versatile tool, one that could even be used medically. Whereas for Kira 4, KQ made objects into bombs that could not be noticed by outside viewers, and Sheer Heart Attack was an automatic, heat-seeking sub-stand.

So now I'm wondering, how does KQ manifest for Hayato? What variation on those explosive powers does he get?

while you’re right in how the two Killer Queens were different, you’re not completely right with how Part 8’s power was. The bubble stuff was all Soft And Wet, while KQ’s power was a bunch of teeny tiny Sheer Heart Attacks that he could control both where they went and how big the explosion was. It could be as precise as a medical tool or as destructive as being able to blow up a whole dock

as for Hayato...... given his personality it would probably be something that valued precision over straight power, maybe with more remote control over SHA than 4!KQ had. Maybe it could be a mix of 4 and 8's abilities? Maybe Hayato has a couple SHA he can control with 8's level of precision, and maybe he can also use them for things like recon and stuff. I do want to incorporate 4!KQ's bomb ability so.... who knows maybe that's unchanged

also, completely separate from that, but I think Koichi should be allowed some Sheer Heart Attack trauma :) just for some fun :)))

39 because crossovers my beloved

39. A series you would want to crossover with Jojo?

*vibrates in Many Thoughts* okay anon you have no idea what you've just unleashed, but I am a HUGE transformers fan and I have so many fragmented little thoughts of a "Jojo's But The Stands Are Transformers" type deal going on in my head you don't even know. Most of my thoughts have been allocated to Parts 3 and 4, mostly in terms of What Stands Transform Into What and a rough basis for a plot.

Part 3 is surrounding Jotaro buying this beat up purple truck and realizing he now has an alien living in his garage now. This time instead of trying to help his mom, it's more about helping Star(who's an autobot) reunite with his people. That isn't to say Holly doesn't get hurt, no Star ends up being seen with Jotaro and attacked by a Con (not Hierophant, he was a con who defected years ago because he got attached to Kakyoin) which leads to Holly getting hurt and landing in the hospital. Jotaro flips out, but realizes they were only attacked because of Star and decides the best and easiest way to get things over with is get Star back with the other Autobots and more or less get rid of him. Unfortunately for him, he gets attached

(also, Hermit Purple is a cassette who was separated from their carrier and has a precognitive ability, Magician's Red is a predacon with a phoenix alt mode, and Silver Chariot is just a really really fast car and he and Polnareff have been trying to get information about other Cybertronians in underground racing loops)

Part 4 is much different. Instead of being Autobots vs Decepticons, it's a collection of Neutrals desperately trying to make a place in the world safe from the fighting. Crazy Diamond had been passing through on the run when he came across Tomoko and Josuke (who was sick for completely unrelated reasons) and decided to help, and has been with them ever since. The Hand and Bad Company are ex-cons who are trying to settle down in Morioh, and Red Hot Chili Pepper is a mercenary hunting them down. Echoes is a protoform multi-changer Koichi found and is slowly doing his best to raise. For the most part, it's very detached from the Autobot Decepticon conflict and just a mishmash of all these transformers trying to figure out how to live together without catching the attention of anymore Autobots or Decepticons (Star was technically supposed to report this little hotspot of transformers back to Optimus but...... well, they aren't doing anything bad, and what the Boss didn't know wouldn't kill him-)

Most of the enemies are different except for Wheel of Fortune who is exactly the same.

Either Crazy Diamond has a pompadour now or Josuke has a rather different style. I choose to believe the latter.

Ooh, what if Killer Queen was a young predacon on the Con's side who was sent away to Morioh for one reason or another? And they are not over what happened. Not by a longshot.

YESSSSSSSSSSS

okay about the Killer Queen Predacon thing-

What if this time while Kira does still have a hand fetish and is A Bit Weird, he's not the one actually committing all the murders. It's all being done by his Pet Slash Roommate Giant Robotic Cat. Now, Kira's completely aware of KQ's body count, and while he does chastise him for it it's not actually about the murders, it's about KQ bringing a mess into the house. He's allowed to kill as many people as he wants, Kira honestly couldn't give less of a shit about it, after all he just wants to live a Quiet Life, but he makes it clear KQ needs to clean up after himself and dispose of all the bodies. Plus, if he could bring back a hand or two every once in a while...... well, he'd greatly appreciate it

and KQ just hates people. In general. Autobot, Decepticon, Neutral or Human, all of them are annoying at best and disgusting at worse (with exception of Kira of course, he understands KQ in a way no one else ever has and isn't annoying to top it all off) and he sees no issue with killing them. Hell, he sees it as a game more than anything else
