Oh wait, @starry-blue-echoes hey hey, I know you like transformers!
Star Swap is so hyped for me!!! cuz Jotaro just has to go through his trauma! Jotaro gets to uncover what happened! Protect his past self! He has to inform his past self that things are going to go well In the past his mom was going to be okay and nobody (Important Dio get fucked) dies. But also things are going to go bad because that brat that past him is currently inhabiting right now. Will make everyone in the past freak out so bad because he didn't write down a single thing explaining anything.
SO RUDE JOSUKE! and low-key life-ruining.
I know you said in general that Jotaro Is going to have a thing with electricity and Loud Noises (which I think are Kira's bombs I'm pretty sure) I also think *Click is just going to Immediately alert him. But I would also like to add RATS.
Because I can't get over the fact that two Jotaros with their same Stands are going to be facing off with two rats with their same stands and our two Jotaros are going to get CLAPPED. Those rats were INSANE.
Anytime Adult man Jotaro nearly gets killed
The teenager Jotaro’s brain: FREAKS OUT
I think the main issue here is that Jotaro has no actual context so Jotaro looks at a radio tower “I have emotions towards this And have no idea why and that's a problem.” I also feel like he's probably going to be Vigilant toward any unexplainable feelings that seem to emanate from that memory Gap so those Feelings just kind of get Amplified until he gets an explanation.
Having said that, I do believe that it is quite possible for our adult man Jotaro to ping Yoshikage Kira Before he does anything in front of anyone. Passing each other on the road but only once.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS yesyesyesyesyesyes
GOD this is all so delicious I barely know where to start
I didn't even think about just how much the mystery of Jotaro's "past" is going to tie into all this. Part 4 really is just a mass of mysteries and uncovering so many decade old secrets, and now some of the secrets have become personal
(Also uh. Before we get into things, clarifying nicknames are likely in order <3 let's just keep it simple and easy, Jojo is the teen and Jotaro is the adult)
but just. Gods can you imagine the pure chaos when Jotaro and Jojo meet for the first time. Jojo of course realized what was going on first, after all Jotaro's style.... really hasn't changed much. Not to mention the subtle shift in the air when the other man used his Stand
and of course, when Jotaro realizes he gets thrown for a loop. He came here to check up on his father's illegitimate child and do some poking around for the arrows. Now he's suddenly being nailed in the face with the past that's eluded him for years
it's going to be a MASSIVE relief for Jojo to hear, even if he doesn't express it fully. That mom is safe, that everything turns out okay.
He is however, equally as frustrated by Jotaro's lack of clarity in his memories and starts planning out a very aggressive note to leave behind when they finally switch back
and YESSSSSSSSSS with the clicking noise and rat thing, that's absolutely perfect. Especially with the rat thing since well. They move :)
and the worst part of it all, the electricity and explosions and clicks and rats, is Jotaro doesn't know why. All he knows is that this is a danger to him, that it is life threatening and pain causing and he needs to get away
(and speaking of Bug Eaten, Tonio is going to be getting a L O T more visits than in canon on account of the whole..... Being The Only Healer In This Entire Stand Ridden Town)
I LOVE the concept of Jotaro getting vague feelings of events to come. Because his memories aren't fully gone per say, they exist and are present but they're hazy and muddled and unclear. And yet, with every day he spends in Morioh, every adventure he hears the kids have gone through and every adventure he gets roped into as well, they become clear
But rarely do the warning systems help. At least, not in any way that truly helps. After all, Fate and the Future has already been decided. every action has already been taken, every fate known, every thing unavoidable. This is not a second chance at the life Jotaro had lived, it was Jojo's first chance
that's the most taunting part of these feelings. How vague and muddled and fuzzy they are. A feeling of deja vu can mean a new ally or a hated enemy and he can't differentiate the two
when he eventually realises this, Jotaro shifts his energy to something he can do, and that's training the kids. He came back to his own time a competent fighter and with the ability to stop time, so dammit he knows he can at least try
...........wait a moment I had
a FUN idea to play with regarding the time stop
so. Given the fact Jotaro learned it essentially via a slight paradox, there would be no relation to Dio at all. There wouldn't be any baggage or trauma attached to it at all
at least...... not with Jotaro that is :)
the other Crusaders? Who fought and nearly died against such an ability? That's an entirely different ball park :)))
plus, it could also lead to some fun angst in terms of "Theories Of Where Jotaro Was" now including captured and possibly trained by Dio which wasn't a fun thought for anybody involved

Hello, first I love your aus :)! Speaking of Aus I just think it'd be funny to mix Legally Stars and Jotaro in Italy. Jotaro leaves the kids with someone he trusts (maybe Josuke or Koichi) to go to Italy so that they can stay safe. Sure enough when the kids appear to the entire group in Italy it's just.
Someone in the Bucci gang: Who's fucking kids are these?
Jotaro, who is tired™x12 because his kids followed him and oh hey, Jolyne, who he was pretty sure was standless when he left, now has a stand: Those are mine....
GHDBFHDJFJJDHFHEHFH W H E E Z E -
oh my god you’re right that idea is P E R F E C T
Jotaro tells the kids he's going on a trip to find another brother of theirs and won't be back for a while, but obviously they follow because duh, that's their brother, they wanna meet him >:T so they still manage to sneak their way over
and while on one hand I think Jotaro would've noticed them much earlier........ I think it would be REALLY funny if the kids manage to stay hidden until they reveal themselves after the Bucci Gang pisses off the Boss like in the regular version. Sure Jotaro had his suspicions they were being trailed, especially after Mista's weird experience on the train, but he never actually had proof to back it up. Plus, the kids are very, very familiar with how Star Platinum and even Jotaro himself work and think, so who knows maybe they could realistically pull it off
and just. When they finally reveal themselves.
Jotaro is absolutely exhausted. He's just resting inside the turtle because of his whole Died For A Few Seconds incident when suddenly the Bucci Gang explain that Hey The People Who've Been Following Us Want To Meet Up And Help
Giorno's actually the one who connects the dots first, on account of the whole "got the Joestar Lineage thing explained" and actually knows what's up with the matching star birthmarks. Who knows, maybe Jotaro even explained to him that he has siblings
He's still completely baffled though because. W h a t. How are you here? Why are you here???
And Jotaro just skips the Shocked phase and sinks into Tired Acceptance since...... well they're Joestars. Insanity either finds them, or they find it
Okay, I just got here. Sorry for intruding and I'm kind of freaking out about part 4 of Star Swap.
Because there are two Jotaros. Why is nobody talking about the fact that there are two Jotaros? Am I missing something???
Unless I am completely failing in Star Swap lore, in order to not become super convoluted and insane, a universe is localized to a Swap… probably? Anyway from what I understand three universes have an event happening in them and Star Swap is a series… except there's also an OLDER Jotaro here in Part 4! which would be the same Jotaro that experienced part 4 as Josuke! Which is causing problems in my brain.
… I was thinking it's either Joseph and Giono is the exception -Thanks to Hermit Purple Rrequiem- and swaps actually jumps across universes making Older Part 4 Jotaro have that Canon backstory.
…Or… hear me out..
JoJo
Specifically, Jotaro gets some of that Time Jumpy Amnesia and has not a single fucking clue what happened to himself.
JUST HIM
No one else
He is the sole one that gets bonk with a forgot stick
For all Jotaro knows: he blacked out, got possessed, and went to Egypt. Everything went well. His mom got cured and people survived, but STILL. said person that possessed him made a bunch of friends and now Jotaro has to deal with them. HE has to rely on other people's information to figure out what the hell HAPPENED.
Jotaro still gets that Battle Experience in and gets those cryptic forgotten fog of memories from the trip But Yeah
Jotaro has no idea what happened to him when that guy was possessing him. Jotaro doesn't know! he doesn't remember shit!!! All people got is theories.
I have a lot of thoughts and this is probably not even an issue.ARGGGG
.. I'm here thinking that for The Star Swap parts 3 and 4 to connect in an interesting way is Memory Blockage or else Part 4 Older Jotaro would have to walk on fucking eggshells if something wasn't blocking his memories because if he talks or says anything that doesn't link up then he breaks time. Jotaro's fault for actively getting involved!
Probably. I don't know!!! I'm just thinking!!!
you're correct, Parts 3 and 4 have been criminally neglected amongst all this chaos, so this is p e r f e c t
to clarify the universe shenanigans of everything: I've always been thinking that each "set" exists in its own universe. 1 and 6, 2 and 5, and then 3 and 4 all exist in their own sort of "pocket universe" just so we don't need to keep track of of all the inevitable changes and how they influence each other
that being said, funnily enough what you've brought up with Jotaro is REALLY close to what I've been imagining too!
Jotaro is So Fucking Lost when he wakes up back home. He feels like complete and utter shit and is covered in more bandages than he's ever had before. The last thing he remembers is his mom leaving after visiting him in the prison cell after he tried to shoot himself with Star Platinum
only...... when did Star Platinum have a name? When had it stopped being an evil spirit?
when had he stopped being scared of it?
Kakyoin and Joseph are of course INCREDIBLY worried by Jotaro's apparent and very sudden shift in personality. And of course, this panic only multiplies when they find they think Jotaro's stand has been changed as well. They immediately think it's a Stand attack......
but then Holly steps forward and denies this. That this is how Jotaro normally acts and more importantly, that she remembers seeing Star in the jail
now, technically this might be bending the rules a little bit, but I think it would be interesting to give Holly some..... memory weirdness. Maybe we can tie it into her Stand somehow, or maybe it's just For The Plot, but Holly has two distinct sets of memories before she collapsed from her illness
One where Jotaro comes home with her, quiet and awkward and open in a way he hadn't been since he was a child. And another where he refused to leave and shot himself in an attempt to goad a spirit hovering over his shoulder
this then raises the incredibly uncomfortable idea that the Jotaro they'd gone to Egypt with was the imposter. That there had been a fake in their midst the entire time and they never knew. Was he working with Dio? Another group? What was his goal? Why had he done it? And of course, the biggest question of all, where was Jotaro the entire time and why doesn't he remember?
because it's obvious Jotaro was somewhere. He has skills and knowledge he hadn't before. He's different, he's grown in some ways, but has receded in others
Electricity and loud sounds terrify him in a way that can't be described as simple fear
they do what they can to help and figure things out, but they can never find any leads. It actually during these investigations that Jotaro decides to start working with the Speedwagon Foundation on the side and "rekindles" his friendships with the Crusaders
(he finds himself drawn to Kakyoin at times. Or to be more specific, he's drawn to his Stand. The colors and shapes and eyes all feel so tantalizingly familiar, and sometimes he finds himself talking to the being as if expecting a response)
years go by, and the fog around his memories stays. It bothers him less as more time passes and he makes new memories with people who had a headstart on their relationship, but there's always a quiet niggling in the back of his mind about what could've happened
and then a decade later he finds a boy with a different face but identical Stand and temperament to match
Someone please give Jotaro a break
What the hell
Okay I had a THOUGHT about Early Bird. Or specifically, what happens after it.
Because Diavolo's still out there, still has his stand arrow/s. And Giorno either doesn't exist, or he's much older than in canon. Possibly even in a position where he can be much more effective in either combatting or infiltrating Passione.
Basically what I'm trying to say is 20-something Giorno Giovanna kinda taking Bucciarati's role as inspirational surrogate parent.
ailing you managed to rummage around my brain and pull out an idea I thought I'd forgotten about
so doing the math, Jotaro would be around 31 in Canon Part 5, and he was 6 in Early Bird Part 3. Giorno was born about 3 years before Canon Part 3, which if we have that be the same here leads to a....... shockingly only 3 year age gap
now, of course there's also room to mess around with when Part 5 happens since if you wanna get really technical, Dio wouldn't have been able to be given the arrows by Enyaba since she wouldn't have been able to buy them off Doppio at this time, but that's a little too gritty for me so let's just shuffle things around instead and just say it all works out by shoving Doppio's trip back a few years
anyways back with Giorno, an old idea I had more or less has Giorno...... with the kiddos as well. I KNOW, THIS IS TECHNICALLY A PRETTY LATE ADDITION TO THE AU BUT HEAR ME OUT:
Dio of course has Jotaro already planned out to be his successor. There's a whole multilayered scheme going on here with loads of irony and revenge and what not, and he doesn't want to give that up. It's just too perfect.
However, Dio has also learned from his mistakes and knows he shouldn't put all his eggs in one basket. After all, given the fact he doesn't have Pucci this time, he is currently without a back up plan
enter: one Haruno Shiobana
this is also where Dio's interactions with the kids get more....... complicated. Because Haruno is the spare so to speak........ but at the same time he's pretty well cared for. Arguably better than the other kids, simply because of the fact he's new. Unlike the other kids, he doesn't need to be convinced of anything. This life and Dio is all he's known, he doesn't need to worry about Haruno trying to escape since....... well, why would he try
not to mention, Haruno's too young to participate in any kind of training, and again he's the spare. He shouldn't have to be trained since if everything goes to plan, he won't be needed as a successor. Maybe he could be a powerful underling one day if his Stand is strong enough, but Jotaro is supposed to be the future leader.
so honestly....... Jotaro's the only one who ever actually interacted with Giorno. He's kept separate from most of the other kids, but of course Dio wanted his heir to meet his possible second. And their interactions were about as interesting as a 3 year old and an ill 6 year old could be.
(who knows, maybe Haruno's mother is here as well? Of course, this does raise the question of whether or not she'd take Haruno with her when she inevitably flees the mansion, but for the sake of the AU let's say she does)
but when they're free.......... this is when things get a bit fun :)
because well....... given their ages, the two honestly don't remember each other super well. Haruno hardly remembers any of his time in the mansion at all, and Jotaro's memories are foggy from time and sickness. Kakyoin might know of Haruno's existence from their talks, but admittedly the toddler's importance wasn't NEARLY as much in his mind as compared to being rescued and getting Jotaro to a hospital
by the time Kakyoin's able to tell Holly and Joseph, Haruno's long gone
Italy I'd imagine isn't too different. Sure there's of course the differing dynamics between Giorno and the team given the fact he's 28 (and now the oldest member of the team by a landslide, Abbacchio being the closest at 21) but plot wise? There's definitely the question of do we play it straight or get creative with it which........ okay let's be real we're most likely gonna go the creative route jrdbvjdrbvs
I'm definitely very interested in how Koichi little quest goes down and how Giorno will deal with his chasing, and ofc how Jotaro will fall into things here
Polnareff definitely will make things interesting, since he's of course very related to Events All Those Years Ago and would likely be aware of the fact that Dio son who went missing that fateful night
there's a lot of room to Get Funky With It :)
also I'm just. Rotating Jotaro and Giorno's childhoods. How the mansion was the best and safest Giorno had ever been, and had he grown up there he honestly probably wouldn't have had that bad of a life, at least in comparison to his mother's neglect and step-father's abuse.
but that being in stark contrast to Jotaro's own experience. How the mansion was literal hell. How he was stolen away from his life and family and very nearly died, scared and alone.
how Dio managed to be Giorno's savior and Jotaro's nightmare
how Holly's rescue was Jotaro's saving grace and the thing that shattered any hope of Giorno's good future
how these two are family, both by blood and by the man who attempted to raise and shape them
I thought of pucci taking emporio under his wing after killing his mom then remembered that im just thinking of the plot of ringing bell
Ok but imagine it. Pucci only just realizing the woman he killed had a child so he raised him out of guilt, but at the same time out of the need to use burning down the house to get a ghost version of dio's diary
hi op I hope you don't mind but my brain went a tad insane with the idea of this but in my defense it's in the AMs and Brain Juice Is Blorping and also let me apoligise in advance for any spelling errors because I can't spell for shit even on a good, well rested day so who knows what's gonna happen here
just
Emporio's mom trying to run away and escape upon realising the danger this prision contains in it's walls. Her knowing she can't escape, that nowhere in the prision will be safe for her, nowhere aside from out is beyond his reaches or could keep her safe
she needs to escape then, she realises. But she can't do it now, no no no, she needs to plan, needs to prepare, needs to make sure it was flawless, and above all else she needs to ensure Emporio could come with her. She could hardly leave her baby, her precious boy behind. She'll lie low inside his ghost rooms, she decides, and starts bolting to the staircase that hides the entrance
..........but she wasn't careful enough. She was followed
she's a comatose husk before she even made it through
but Pucci always had an eye for detail, and eye for noticing things. And in his hand he held the woman's memories and her Stand, had her body melting away into nothing, and yet the strange fold in the wall was still present. He'd known of Stand abilities persisting after death but this........ this felt different
so slowly, gently, carefully, just in case this was a trap set to get him, a final way to get back at him, he goes through
it was a strange room, one he'd never seen before in the prision, but he supposed that was on par for a Stand ability. The atmosphere was nice, if a bit old, and he had no clue why a piano of all things was in here or even how it got in here and
and hiding behind the piano, staring up at him with big, amber eyes is a boy
he was young, so so young, and far too small and frightened and quiet then any child his age should be. He does not speak, does not question the presence of this stranger, he simply watches and stares
and it's in this moment Pucci recalls the desperation in which the woman had fought and fled. How she'd come to this place with such certainty, like she knew the route by heart
it's far too late for her. Her corpse was being broken down as he stood here and watched this child, and even if he stopped in now the chance of her surviving was slim to none. He does not regret killing her........ but he does regret what this boy has lost. That his encounter with the boy's mother had to end the way it did
that this boy will have to grow up without a mother who loved him dearly
he realises a moment later he cannot kill this child. He has crossed many lines, but that was all for the sake of attaining Dio's Heaven...... the murder of this boy would ultimately be meaningless
and he's obviously a Stand User, his mother was one and what else could explain the continued existence of the room. It would be dangerous to put him into the system, both for himself and others. At this age, he would be very vulnerable, very malleable-
no, he cannot in good faith just send this child out into the world
so he crouches down and speaks in soft tones. He tries to becon the boy closer, asks him what he's doing here and where his parents are as if he doesn't already know the answers. He coaxes the boy, Emporio he is called, out away from the piano and then out of the room and into the staircase where his mother spent her last moments
perhaps he picks him up, gently setting him on his hip. He introduces himself and what he does, and as the night stretches on he tells him stories to pass the time. He takes him to his study and locks the door, and sets him down on the couch so he can sleep
and while he does, Pucci begins to plan
(and maybe, just maybe, while he doesn't realise it in the back of his mind he thinks of Dio and his childhood before the Joestars. He thinks of stories of a wonderful, kind woman who loved him so, and yet was ripped so cruely from the world far too soon. He thinks of Dio's quiet ponderings of how things possibly could've been different had she been there, if things could've changed, if he could've known the tragedy before it struck to prevent it)
(he thinks that in the next world, after Heaven is obtained, that Emporio could be allowed his mother the same way Dio would be allowed his)
Mmmm thinking, pucci does some research into the room and discovers that it had burnt down long ago. If the boy's stand could bring back an entire room that burnt down then.. surely it could bring back a certain book...
(Sorry if this is awkwardly written, i am no writer)
