For the fic title ask game: Looking Down Into the River.

Avatar

this is giving me some Mertaro shenanigan ideas, specifically for him meeting Marina

something along the lines of Marina ends up falling off a rather tall bridge into some water. Maybe it was clumsiness, maybe someone pushed her, who knows, but long story short the water is a bit rough and she can't swim well enough to get herself to safety and starts drowning

Her conciousness floats in and out as the world gets darker as she's pulled under. The adrenaline in her veins does little to combat the water in her lungs as she's flung around like a ragdoll-

but then something catches her. She can feel big, thick hands grab her and pull against the current, and just before she drifts off into unconciousness she's able to make out dark purple scales and bright blue eyes

she wakes up in a hospital. Apparently someone annonymous had found her by the shore a ways down the river and called an ambulance, but they have no idea who

Marina returns to the river. She's careful of course, it wouldn't do her any good to fall in again, but she watches and keeps an eye out for her mysterious savior. She doesn't tell anyone what she saw or what she thinks actually happened, but she remembers

it's during one of these trips she's meets another man, Jotaro. He's a marine biology student who goes to the same college and is working on some project for a paper that leads to frequent visits to the river

she initiates a conversation after she's seen him for the third time

it isn't until the seventh he asks what she's doing here

it isn't until the thirteenth she answers him honestly

it isn't until the twentysecond he answers back

and every time before that, she watches the river, thinking and coming up with what she wants to say

What if in Beastars, after Emporio beats Pucci, Pucci only manages to scratch him before he dies, thus Emporio gets turned into a Werebeast himself, makes angst potential, i imagine a lion eagle hybrid, more lion like but with wings but also some ram horns as a reminder of Weather, he’s basically a bird kitten. Maybe he becomes protective of Irene and the others.

Made better if Irene and Jotaro are still Werebeasts in the new world, maybe some werebeast cuddles.

OOOOOOOOOOO YESYESYESYESYESYES

(also as like..... a way to explain this occuring without having to explain why no other enemies of the Joestars have been turned, maybe there are a couple requirments that have to be met, such as it being during a full moon among other things, and maybe even then the chances are relatively slim)

Now, I will say I do want to change some aspects of the animals you've assigned Emporio, if only to stop too much over lap. The ram works fine because of the implications of it, but I believe Jonathan is already part lion and Josuke is already a griffin of sorts

maybe we could try tying Emporio to the three werebeasts he interacts with? So a ram for Weather and Pucci, either a wolf or gator from Jotaro (I'm not sure which since one would give him SUPER fluffs but the other would let him swim better), and butterfly wings from Jolyne

and just. Imagine the day they find Emporio at the bus stop eith a somewhat brutal looking and very fresh slash on his arm. It's only natural that they'd all be concerned, especially when Emporio only explains it as far as "I was attacked by an animal" without any more context

and just. Who knows how it goes for him. Maybe it starts as little things while still a human that he always writes off as because of his newfound freedom. He enjoys meat more than he did before? Well, of course he does, meat had been a luxury he rarely got and now he gets to pick what to eat. He likes climbing trees and being in the open air? It's a good vantage point and he's never been able to climb trees before. He feels more comfortable with his blankets and pillows piled up in a nest? Probably for safety and as a trauma response, he remembered reading some books about it

but of course, everything comes to head that first full moon he spends with the Joestars

The plan had been for Jotaro and Jolyne to leave the house while Marina stayed with Emporio. They wanted to slowly ease him into it, and full moon nights would be akin to throwing him straight into the deep end. Of course, Emporio already knows what they are, but he doesn't say anything and plays dumb for their benefit

and Marina was ready for a calm, quiet night. It had been some time since her husband and daughter had spent the entire night away, but she understood why and was happy to help

what she was not ready for was for Emporio to start screaming the second the sun set

can you imagine how terrifying this would be for both parties? Emporio because what's happening what's going on why does everything hurt why is his body change like this it hurts it hurts it hurts- and Marina is freaking out because Yeah An Eleven Year Old Screaming In Your Living Room Is Going To Make You Panic

what's even more....... Marina's never seen this kind of reaction before. Jotaro and Jolyne always shifted with confidence, with certainty, with control. They always knew exactly what they were doing and what was going to happen

but this? This could not be further from that

it also doesn't help that Emporio's panic doesn't really leave even after the shift is done. Now it's just less coherent and more erratic which is fun for Marina to deal with

her one saving grace is that Emporio is still relatively small and thus doesn't actually try to hurt her. He more or less runs around for about an hour before hiding himself under a piece of furniture, at which Marina starts slowly making it clear she isn't a threat. Near the end of the night he actually falls asleep in his hiding spot and Marina has to fish him out so he won't hurt himself when he changes back

but yeah, Jotaro and Jolyne are in for the realization of a lifetime by the time they get back

JSEBDVJSDBVJSHEDBVS OKAY HEAR ME OUT-

THIS IS EXACTLY HOW IT GOES DOWN WHEN JOTARO TELLS MARINA

like. They'd been dating for quite a bit, and after a lot of calls and talking with Holly, Jotaro finally decides he's going to show Marina his beast from. After all, eventually she's going to figure things out, especially if this turns into a long term relationship (which he really really wants, even if it scares the hell out of him)

so he picks a night and brings Marina to a quiet, secret place out of the way and far from people to show her. His explaination is stilted and he definitely sounds crazy, but he's able to convice her to stay so he can show her proof.

And before he does...... he tells her that if she wants to run away, that's okay and he won't chase. If she's scared of him and thinks him a monster, thats fine. If she nevers wants to see him again after this, she won't have to, he'll leave without complaint. All he asks is she never speak of this to anyone

and this rare openness, this rare vulnerability, is enough to give her pause. She can read between the lines and at this point she's been around Jotaro enough to hear the silent fear

and it goes surprisingly well! Don't get me wrong, Marina is absolutely freaked out for a couple seconds since Yeah Seeing Your Boyfriend Transform In A Weird Scaley Dog Taller Than You is definitly a little scary, but she takes it in stride and the two get cloer as a result :D

but then fast forward a few months to a full moon. And Jotaro's decided he trusts himself to be around Marina and that he won't hurt her, and explains to her the specifics of what the full moon means

And everything seemingly goes fine. Marina is making breakfast, his memories are fuzzy but pleasant feeling, and he feels fine if a little tired

but then when he sits down to eat, Marina gives him a Look and a smile and slides a picture across the table

And it's him in his beastform........ covered in dirt and trying very hard to get a Too Long Stick through a doorway

Jotaro begins to feel he made a mistake

You know this actually makes it more likely that Jotaro won’t go through a divorce. If he trusts her with his wereform he probably would trust her with his other family burdens.

“So let me get this straight… you’re great great great adopted uncle turned into a vampire, stole your ancestors body after he ripped his head off, survived a 100 years under the sea in a coffin. Made a cult. You fought him in Egypt because he was killing your mom with magic spirit powers (witch you also have) and now you’re still dealing with the aftermath.”

“Basically… yes.”

“If I didn’t see you transform into a giant lizard dog, I’d probably would’ve called someone to put you in a straitjacket or something.”

“Fair.”

I doubt it would make Jolyne’s childhood any more better though.

Either because her mom knows and supports her father being absent or them taking countermeasures to keep them safe.

I seriously doubt Dio’s followers will let their leaders killer have a happy life.

Jotaro learns the magical lesson of Hey Maybe It's Actually A Good Thing To Communicate Why I Do Things Actually

however, I would argue otherwise about Jolyne's childhood. Sure it's still gonna be not great and Jolyne's still probably going to be upset about it (and honestly rightfully so), part of why Jotaro's relationships with them was so dysfunctional in canon is because Marina and Jolyne didn't know why Jotaro was so absent. As far as they knew..... he just didn't care enough or was too busy to make time

here at the very least they know it's because it's for safety. Does it suck still? Absolutely, and Jolyne is still bitter about it. However, this time Marina is able to help her work through those emotions and get Jotaro to at least call more often so their relationship isn't as strained as it is in canon

for the beastars au I like to imagine that joestars shapeshift at roughly the same time and when they do change they see their little child in their beast form as well and they're like p r o t e c t- and cuddle the little baby. just imagine snake bird joseph curled up with little baby Holly and she's so so fluffy. Honestly I imagine her as a sort of duck/rabbit sort of animal bc she just gives the energy, but idk if you have anything for her yet. And then Holy doing the same for Jotaro. And Jotaro doing the same for Jolyne-

Also, hc that Holly is in complete control of her beast form because when Joseph sat her down to tell her about it and how it happens to their family and that it isn't to be afraid of she's just like "okay!" and wholeheartedly believes him

-ffa

YESSSSSSSSSS

Food Chain and Natural Predators be damned, they're going to love and care for each other so freaking much. They are Pack and Flock and every other word to define it, they must stick together and keep each other safe

Joseph is probably the most touchy feely out of them all. He's already a pretty physically affectionate guy, so when he's a beast it just gets cranked up to 11. And while Holly has already kinda been established as a rabbit/river otter, you're absolutely right in how cuddly and fluffy she is. She's definitely on the smaller side compared to all the other Joestars, and when she was a baby she was tiny. Joseph would sometimes spend the whole night wrapped around her, grooming her fur and cuddling together

With Jotaro, while he and Holly do spend a decent chunk of time being affectionate, a lot of their time on forced nights is spent swimming together. Holly spent hours teaching him how to swim, and even when he gets older and he easily dwarfs her in size, he always looks to her for guidance and direction in the water. He's viciously protective, but Holly is just as much if not more so since...... well, river otters are apex predators and there are some kinds that regularly throw down with and hunt crocodiles and win

and just. Jotaro being super cuddly with Jolyne. When she was a baby, Marina was one of the only people he'd let anywhere close to her on full moons. And while this protectiveness slowly died down over the years, it was always still very prominent. Most of their forced transformations were spent in the house sleeping, but Jotaro would also sometimes take Jolyne to a body of water so they could swim together :>

also, I had a fun idea of for the most part, the beast forms are "easier" to control as children. As a child, you aren't saddled with the crushing social expectations of life. The world is so bright and full of magic and so little is understood and that's what makes it so fun. The beast forms are just another part of who they are, they don't understand why it would be considered strange or monstrous

that isn't to say their upbringing has no affect on their control. For example, the Brando children (with the exception of Rikiel) all have very poor control because of a lack of proper, healthy guidance and toxic environments. However, in those first few years when they're infants and toddlers...... they're still themselves. Children are subject completely to their whims, not even being able to comprehend cause and effect yet. They rarely act differently from when they're human, now they just have a couple more limbs

I've been playing Cult of the Lamb recently and it reminded me of your Cult of the Diamond Au. How would Jotaro or Joesph fit in? I mean, they're basically Josuke's father figures here (despite the fact that Jotaro is technically his nephew and Joesph isn't exactly... all there). Maybe Iolite for Joesph, and just Platinum for Jotaro? or maybe Opal? Opal is usually representative of the ocean and water, fitting for the Ocean Man himself.

Or how about Reimi? Rose Quartz? I can see her as the one who watches over the hall of fallen soldiers. Would Aya be roped in at some point? She could be a Morganite or Coral, if she doesn't get killed that is. Speaking of killings, what about Kira? Are they going to give him a deific name too? Maybe to draw him out of hiding or force others to be on the lookout?

If he does get one, maybe Moissanite or Cubic Zirconia, both of which are used as artificial Diamonds, and could be sold as the Real Evil in this Cult instead of the Sapphire. Or perhaps a Ruby? Rubies represent fire and heat, great for explosions. There are also plenty of gemstones that are deadly too, like Asbestos. Yeah, I was shocked too when I found out it was a crystal. there's also Cinnabar, Chalcanthite, and Orpiment as well.

Yeah, I know Josuke says that The Sapphire is only the Opposite of the Diamond, but people will still see things in black and white. And if the Diamond is sold as good and the Sapphire is the opposite, then what's the opposite of good? Some people are still going to see the Sapphire as evil so if we have something to call truly call evil then the blame will be shifted from Okuyasu to Kira.

I also have an idea for a Cult-like au for Stardust Crusaders. Do Cults not go on Crusades to convert more followers?

Avatar

TGDVJDVMDVD YOU KNOW I STARTED THIS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THIS WAS POST PART 4 BUT THIS BEING DURING IS SO MUCH FUNNIER-

like. slowly for years Josuke has (albeit accidentally) been creating this cult. He keeps his identity a secret because of how young he was to play on the safer side and every few weeks he puts on his disguise with Crazy D and makes his rounds around the hospital. Little does he know he's slowly amassed a rather large following that are really dedicated to him and what he does

I'd imagine it's only when Jotaro enters the picture that Josuke actually begins the realize just how much social/religious power he's amassed and is very happy he's kept his identity as The Great Diamond secret. Don't get him wrong, he does like the attention, but he's also pretty confident this wouldn't go over super well with his mom and would attract WAY more attention than he initially intended to get. Plus, he likes being able to have Just A Regular Highschool Social Life thank you very much

he does need to be careful around other Stand Users. Luckily most of them are onboard with it since Josuke isn't taking advantage of these people or asking them anything in return, and the ones that aren't are usually able to be intimidated into silence if need be. And if they don't...... yeah they're not going to get a lot of people to believe him, Josuke's had YEARS of helping the Morioh people, and they're going to stick by him

also, I had a sort of idea? Like, to keep identities hidden and lives separate, Josuke uses Crazy Diamond to make not quite costumes, but semi elaborate outfits using some items and rearranging everything in a way that it looks physically impossible to create with normal means. All it took was some old clothes, metal plates, plastics and some other miscellaneous things and bam he had a full outfit reminiscent of that of his Stand that was both impossible to remove without Crazy D's power and completely hid his identity

(also, I forgot to mention this, but I'm working off the idea that Josuke and the other Stand Users involved are all being seen as "vessels" for their respective assigned god. Did they plan ahead for when they eventually died and their Stands disappeared? no, not at all, they genuinely didn't realize how far things had gotten)

I love the idea of Jotaro becoming The Opal. He would definitely become a protective, somewhat guiding figure. The Opal is known for his strength, his speed, his cunning. He is the unstoppable force whose protective reach knows no bounds, who will reign down untold fury like a tsunami if any of his fellow Gemstones are harmed. He is someone who is to be respected and not messed with, but there is no doubt he will always do what is in the best interest for others (the second Jotaro saw how devoted Josuke's following was he all but demanded to be present for at least a few of the "meetings" just to make sure Josuke wasn't in too deep and that he wasn't going to get hurt)

Joseph on the other hand is more of a distant protector, sort of a patron for the elderly. The Iolite is someone who is wise, albeit often vague and a bit confusing at times. They are experienced and have seen so much the world has to offer, and now they spend the rest of their days being allowed the weakness that comes with age

BIG YES WITH REIMI. The Rose Quartz is someone who watches over the deceased but also ensures their unfinished business is dealt with. She watches over than and serves as the bridge between the land of the living and the land of the dead, and is known as one who can pass on the messages and prayers of those alive to their loved ones. She's essentially a Goddess of Death, but a kind one who cares for all the souls who pass on

If Aya doesn't die, she's definitely one of the Stand Users who's more of a "minor" god. She'll pop in on occasion for an appearance or two every few months if available, but mostly sticks to her beautician work.

while I do think Kira might get turned into a sort of boogie man later down the line, I also think that Josuke would do whatever he could to keep them uninvolved. After all, they're just Normal People. They're not equipped to deal with a hidden serial killer, plus he doesn't want to risk revealing his identity if Kira connects the dots. The Ruby could be a good option, maybe becoming something of a "fallen god." The Ruby could be known for selfishness, cruelty and a general lack of care for others. Maybe something to do with "The Ruby had the power and ability to do good, but chose to harm others instead with the gifts he was given"

and ooooooooooo I really like the possible thing with Okuyasu. Maybe in the beginning when they first introduced The Sapphire it was all good but started being misunderstood, so all the main people involved had a big brainstorming session to try and figure things out. Eventually they landed on villainizing Kira (bastard deserved it honestly), and slightly shifting the word usage of how they described The Sapphire. Instead of just leaving it at "The Sapphire is the opposite of The Great Diamond" they made it more "The Great Diamond heals bad things and The Sapphire gets rid of the bad completely." This way it keeps them being opposites, but puts them in the much more positive light of Different Methods, Similar Outcome

as for the last bit, I'm going to be competently honest, I misread it and my first thought was "Josuke going on a crusade to Italy and accidentally fucking with the plot"

Oh no i had a thought. Does Bohemian Rhapsody interact with the Cult? Because if it does... well, it makes those who associate themselves with a fictional figure take the role of that figure, right? So in short, Jotaro temporarily becomes a full-on god chasing after Pucci. Not for long, but for Long Enough. (Apologies if I'm misinterpreting Bohemian Rhapsody)

..........oh n O -

Okay so while Bohemian Rhapsody only works on pictures/drawings/some physical copy portraying a character....... I don’t doubt that there’s probably at least some drawings and paintings floating around of the cult

Pucci better start running because The Opal is Alive, Angry, and every second Pucci is not running he is getting close

(this is also........ absolutely going to just add even more to the cult. The Diamond's going to just go on a slight mass healing spree in Morioh for several minutes, and the rest of the Gemstones will probably just. Vibe around doing what needs to be done and doing what they can to help and protect "their" people)

Now I'm wpndering if this AU changes Jolyne's life any. Does Jotaro feel comfortable leaving her and his wife with the cult as a sort of group of protectors? Does Jolyne grow up being told the stories of the cult? If so, is she aware of the truth? If not, how would she react?

(I'm just picturing Jolyne somehow bringing the cult to Green Dolphin prison and Pucci being Dismayed for a number of reasons. And if any of Jolyne's group is doubtful that fades when they see the Opal charging towards Pucci at full brunt, divine justice burning in his eyes.)

Ooh, also what if the Opal isn't the only one after Pucci's ass? After all, one of the stories about the emerald is that it is everywhere...

RDVJDRNDNRRRVND

oh I love that-

Jotaro comes back from his trip to Morioh like "Marina I accidentally became an important figure in a cult, what do I do-" /j

but in all seriousness, I think this would be enough for Jotaro to finally start telling his wife about all the super natural shenanigans he's involved with. After all, he's seen how devoted the followers are, and he is not risking his family. Stand Users at least had a certain degree of predictability to them and what they wanted. Cultists? Not so much. It also doesn't help that the Foundation wouldn't be able to do as much to cover it up. In case things go poorly somewhere in the future he needed to make sure they were aware of what could happen and how to defend against it

Marina would absolutely get the full truth about the cult, in the process accidentally leading to him revealing Stands because of course Marina's going to ask what and why. While it's a bit..... unnerving, Jotaro stays as transparent as he can about it and it is a comfort that Josuke doesn't have any manipulative or greedy end goals. He just wants to heal people, and Jotaro is helping him keep things under control

Jolyne would probably also get most of the truth, just with a few less details and being told very firmly she is never to speak of this to anyone except Uncle Josuke and his friends. Jotaro also probably does what he can to keep her away from Morioh and most of the family reunions and visits take place where Holly lives, at least until she's older

also, I am LOVING the idea of Jolyne bringing bits of the "religion" to Green Dolphin, that's going to be so freaking chaotic. And honestly, considering how the cult is probably more widespread since it's been over a decade, it's entirely possible there are already some people in the Prison who believe in it. Maybe Jolyne sees this as an opportunity to gain more stability and connections in the prison

also it would just. Generally be hilarious because Pucci's positively seething in the corner about this but no matter what he does he can't get them to stop

members who follow the religion are going to be loosing their goddamn marbles when the deities make an appearance and there's definitely going to be a huge spike in a lot of different religions all over the world because of all the different visuals of gods, goddesses and other beings coming to life-

WELL

the Pucci Situation is mostly the same, except for the fact that this time the object of his worship is still alive and kicking, just in hiding

however, this time instead of targeting Jolyne, Pucci targets her mom

The man was nearing the end of his rope. While he'd managed to secretly band together the remains of the Joestar's forces, there was still the issue that Pucci didn't know the secret to attaining Heaven

In a last ditch effort to find something, Pucci ends up discovering Jotaro actually has an ex-wife and decides to see if he ever shared anything with her or if she knows anything about where he is

so he decides to send someone it to do a bit of...... recon :)

and Jolyne..... boy it was a sight to come home to. A strange man standing in her home with her mother unconscious and bleeding on the floor

there's a fight shortly after. Jolyne, despite all odds, manages to come out on top and accidentally manages to kill the bastard (possibly with the help of a not-fully-awakened Stone Free)

unfortunately for her, Pucci had been waiting nearby so he could take the mom's disc. Wanting to stay off the radar and not risk getting any extra attention, Pucci very quickly comes up with a cover up

He ends up taking Jolyne and her mother's memory discs and then calls the police claiming he just witnessed Jolyne attempt to kill her mother and successfully kill his "friend." By the time the police show up he gives Jolyne her disc back, but keeps the mom's disc so she'll be unable to testify. He still pays off the lawyer to rig the trial, and anonymously testifies to add more evidence, and the end result is Jolyne getting sent to GDST so he can keep an eye on her (and possibly also get Jotaro's attention)

so this is the new plot: Jolyne trying to find the bastard she half remembers who landed her in prison and took her mom's memories as well as trying not to have a panic attack the more she learns about her father's life

maybe at some point a SWF Agent/Associate ends up being sent to the prison to do some investigation which eventually devolves into helping her out when they learn the actual story about what happened. After all, the Foundation probably kept a decently close eye on Jolyne and her mom to make sure she wouldn't be following in her father's footsteps, plus what she says does make sense

I'll admit, I'm still trying to figure out how to put Jotaro in this, but he is going to show up at some point and Jolyne gets to kick his ass as a treat

while she doesn't have a full transformation, it's enough that she needs to be careful about getting wet. She gets most of the perks (gills, ridiculous depth limit, fast in the water) but her tail is a good deal smaller than her father's. She's a slower swimmer than him, but better at making tight turns and is overall more agile

Marina would absolutely know about this. While Joot would definitely try keeping it secret at first, it's only a matter of time before he's found out, which then could possibly lead to everything with Stands being shared and more or less forcing Jotaro into being more open and transparent

And just. Jotaro taking Jolyne to little secret coves on the beach when she's little and teaching her how to swim, showing her what the underwater world has to offer, how to stay out of sight. The two bonding over this shared secret of theirs and doing whatever they can to keep the other safe

Ok so serious ask au this time I feel like Jotaro definitely would not get married and settle down in the vampire Jotaro au. Maybe his brain also doesn't age (along with the trauma of becoming a vampire) so he's stuck in his teenage angst. He tries hard to feel normal so he does go and become a marine biologist but he never gets married, never has jolyne, and is overall still very angry. He won't mellow out as quick

-ffa

you're sort of correct, with some bits at least

(also just to make things easier, I'm going to be calling Jolyne's mom Marina)

Jolyne was actually brought up in this AU a while back, and while Jotaro doesn't get married, Jolyne does still exist. However, he has no idea she does. He had a....... not quite a one night stand with Marina(who was an exchange student), but they met one night, hung out for a couple weeks, Did The Thing, then Jotaro had a bit of a mental breakdown of self loathing and stopped coming to see her. It wasn't until she got back to America at which she realized she was pregnant, and because Jotaro never gave her any information about his family name or where he lived, with her limited resources she wasn't able to find him again

Jotaro has no idea he has a daughter, and honestly when he does learn about her existence? He feels unbelievably shitty about not having been there for her. That because of his selfish reckless actions, Jolyne had to grow up without a father and without knowing what she was. He also feels bad about leaving Marina to take this burden blind (not Jolyne, she could never be a burden, but Marina had nothing to work off of when it came to raising a half vampire) and decides he's going to do everything he can to make up for his absence by helping any way he can

Jolyne's childhood is...... a bit weird honestly. Sure there's the fact Marina was trying to figure out how to be a single mother but also there's her trying to figure out the whole vampire thing. Seeing Jolyne grow up with all her little quirks combined with certain traits she'd noticed of Jotaro's makes the pieces come together rather quickly, and suddenly Jotaro's apprehension toward getting close makes a LOT more sense. She's still pretty upset he ghosted her like that, but at least there's some semblance of an explanation

raising Jolyne was a lot of trial and error. Most "information" about vampires was completely off the mark. Jolyne doesn't have any issue with religious items, garlic, or silver, she can't turn into a bat or fly, or really any of the other extensive rules and traits of vampires. Honestly the only things that seemed to line up were Jolyne being a bit more sensitive in the sun, her preferring under cooked or raw red meats, healing a bit faster than normal, and some increased physical abilities

Marina did her best though, and in the end the result was Jolyne being a good person who has several healthy alternates of dealing with her abilities and is looking forward to a long, healthy life :D

unfortunately for her, Pucci fucks that up and she doesn't even know there's anything crazy going on behind the scenes until Jotaro shows up to break her out

As for the thing with Jotaro's whole mental/emotional development....... while he's still angry, in terms of lashing out at people that stops almost immediately. Instead he ends up isolating himself even more than in canon. His pure terror of hurting people far outweighs his anger, and he sees the best way to avoid that as not letting them close to begin with

Several years down the line this does gradually get better, mostly thanks to his family's help, and by the time 2011 rolls around he's much more adjusted and comfortable with his vampirism. There's still a SHIT TON of baggage he still has to work through, but he's not disgusted with himself and what he is anymore so that's a plus

So this is my first time asking someone something on their blog BUT I REALLY WANTED TO KNOW

How would Jolyne come into play with you Vampiric Joot au?

Does he never meet his wife? Or if he does would she know? Would this be a reason for Jotaro leaving Her and Jolyne behind?

PLEASE I NEED ANSWERS 🙏

OKAY SO

ILL ADMIT IM STILL TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT TOO

Currently the best working idea I have is something like this:

So it’s been a couple years at this point since he’d been turned, and maybe Holly gets into a minor accident. Nothing life threatening, but definitely a “oh this injury usually comes with older age” type thing and it’s enough for the full meaning of his agelessness to finally hit. Sure, normally this wouldn’t have meant much, its expected that kids outlive their parents, but knowing that the outliving is because of something unnatural, something monstrous…… well, that changes things

And this puts Jotaro in a not great mental place for a bit. After all, currently the sole reason he’s still able to live his life one day at a time is for her. And he…… genuinely doesn’t know what he would do with his life after she’s gone. Is it even worth living if she’s just going to die anyways? Should he even try??? He’s not even supposed to be alive after all, he should’ve died in Egypt

For weeks he ponders these things, walking for hours every night, leaving the house as soon as the sun is out of sight and just barely making it back when its deadly rays light the Earth once more

Sometimes he wonders what would happen if he stayed out for a bit longer

He never does, stopped only by the thought of his mother’s grief

He never really has anywhere in particular he travels to either. Anywhere he can reach and return from by the time the sun rises is fair game, and with super speed, stamina, and the ability to stop time that is very far

He finds himself drawn to tall places though. Bridges, towers, buildings, taller than average trees, you name it, he’s probably climbed it. Sometimes, when it’s abandoned and unnoticeable enough, he’ll even jump off instead of climbing down for those fleeting moments of weightlessness and freedom. Besides, it’s not like the fall’s going to kill him. At worst it’s a minor inconvenience

and what if during one of these times, he met someone.

A woman, an exchange student from America to be specific, who naturally had no idea he was immortal and thus was naturally very concerned.

Perhaps they meet a few more times. They talk, they grow closer, meet more and more and as the months pass by they even begin to fall in love

But it’s still so, so early into Jotaro’s life as a vampire. He still fears himself, still hates himself, and most importantly he fears loosing the people he loves. And that spark he began to feel for Jolyne’s mom? It terrified him

He stopped showing up after that.

Naturally and understandably, Jolyne’s mom gets pretty upset about this. Unfortunately for her though…… there isn’t really a whole lot she can do about it. She never got Jotaro’s last name, and he didn’t actually live in the area so she couldn’t just accidentally meet him again. She still tries to do some research to find him, but comes up completely empty. Eventually she gives up her search, returns to America and it’s like the whole thing never even happened

…….except for the fact that upon her return she learns that she’s now pregnant

However, unlike Giorno’s mother, she actually pays attention to and cares for her child, and thus ends up noticing Jolyne’s…… differences. The sun sensitivity, the preference for meats, sharp teeth, the slightly enhanced physical abilities, the regeneration, the list goes on and on and after a few years she is able to put together the facts and realizes her daughter is a vampire….. or at least something similar

On one hand, she’s VERY pissed that Jotaro never said anything about this and just up and disappeared on her without even a note or goodbye. However on the other, this explains so much about him and she does understand why he wouldn’t just say it, plus she doubted he knew she was pregnant(this one was technically hopeful thinking since she had no real was of knowing, and if she was proved wrong then she’d be even more pissed(dw she’s right, Jotaro has no idea))

So now she’s doing her best to raise a super natural daughter as a single mother while also doing everything in her power to keep said daughter secret and safe

Jolyne naturally knew she wasn’t “normal,” and while her mom didn’t talk about her father much(partially out of genuinely not knowing much) she was able to piece together that it mostly likely came from him. This time around she’s less bitter about him not being around enough and more about the fact that he just. Straight up doesn’t exist. Her mom admittedly does try to mitigate this, but only because of the fact that as far as she knew Jotaro had no idea Jolyne existed despite her best efforts to find him one more(again, also true Jotaro has no idea)

As for Part 6……

When Jolyne had been told she’d been sent something by her father, she’d been incredibly confused. She didn’t have a father. She still accepts the locket and it’s strange metal shard, accidentally pricking herself in the process (and minor note, unlike canon this locket doesn’t have a picture inside of it)

And then a few days when he VISITS...... she's even more surprised. She expected an older man, not someone who looked young enough to be her brother. Naturally she doesn’t trust him, she’s never even seen this man before, and technically she doesn’t even know if they’re even actually related.

The escape would go mostly the same I’d imagine, just this time with Jotaro’s gunshot wounds mostly being a distraction. He still gets his memory and Stand yoinked because of the distraction, but at least he’d not bleeding out so...... yay?

Jolyne also gets to see her comatose father begin to crumble to dust in the sun which Was Definitely An Experience

As for why Jotaro showed up and knew Jolyne existed....... honestly the best thing I got is the Foundation starting to look into Strange Possible Stand Phenomena of the past and also more of what Dio did in his spare, discovering Pucci, and somewhere in all that research learning “oh shit, Jotaro has a kid”

Why did Pucci target her? .........idk, maybe Fate did some fuckery which led to him learning before anyone else
