what if part of the reason Dio became a lawyer was because of the whole situation with George

like, don’t get me wrong, Dio had been passionate about law for ages. The whole thing interested him, was something he wanted to pursue in life, knew it paid well, and knew he would be good at it

but then everything with George just added even further incentive to it

heck, maybe before Dio decided murder was the only way out, he’d started making a secret blackmail case. After all, nobody is that rich without something going on behind the curtains. So for years and years Dio’s been gathering everything he can while squirreling away money, planning an exit strategy so the brothers can live in comfort without fear of George coming after they some day

heck, maybe that escape plan was originally meant to take them to Windknight’s Lot but Dio….. condition forced them into castle instead of town

I could see Gyro and Diego having a very shaky relationship at first. On one hand, Gyro really helped Johnny out when Diego couldn't, and Diego is grateful. On the other hand, Diego finds Gyro's face very punchable. (In actuality, it's a combination of being protective and not being fond of Gyro's general attitude.) They do eventually get over their differences once it becomes obvious that the Steel Ball Run is more than it seems.

and honestly? I am. Kinda impressed how Araki was dead set on committing to the “none of the main or even semi-important characters get a happy ending” thing. Like, everyone died except for Johnny, and while he did get his legs back he lost EVERYTHING in the process

I was……. Genuinely not expecting this thread to get so long

partway through I was half tempted to split it into multiple posts but decided “nah, I’ve got to commit”
