fugo pannacotta the guy that grew without a positive adult role model fucking dies when he gets validation. after the illuso fight he has a panic attack seeing his stand so easily kill someone. nobody helps him out, narancia never got comforted and doesn't know how to help and abbacchio can't even help himself. but for the first time in his life he has someone there. he forms emotional attachments quicker as a way to fill the void of that missing childhood validation. 💞

Imagine. After getting the key, everyone returns to the house and Fugo is noticeably quiet and a bit shaken but refuses to elaborate. Abbaccio is able to explain what happened and also the incredibly close shave Giorno had with Death Via Murder Virus, and there admittedly isn’t much they can do. Bruno, Abbaccio, Narancia and Mista all know that when things like this happen it’s best to leave Fugo by himself and let him work through it since most of the time any attempts at comfort either have no affect or make things worse
but not Jotaro
because the second what happened at the ruins is explained to him, he takes one look at Fugo and remembers the night of Star’s manifestation, the World, and all the nightmares that followed of being like the monster he despised
So he opts to do something about it
Remember how Fugo is dropped off at a separate location with the turtle just before the Ghiaccio Fight? What if they talk while they’re waiting for Giorno and Mista to get the disc?
And I can see Jotaro being super blunt when he starts off. Maybe he just straight up asks Fugo “are you afraid of your Stand?”
But then it actually goes smoother. Much to Fugo’s surprise, Jotaro actually does understand. What it’s like to have a Stand that won’t listen to you, what it’s like to be terrified of hurting the only people you cared about, what it’s like to live an unhappy but normal life only to have everything ripped away in an instant, what it’s like worrying about one day going too far and loosing any chance at happiness by making the people you love see you as the monster you feel that you are-
It’s….. oddly liberating, learning that there’s someone else who’s like him in a sense. Fugo feels guilty about the relief, but it’s true
Jotaro….. he admits he doesn’t know to make it stop. Sometimes the thoughts will be too loud and you’ll feel too angry or afraid or paranoid to stop it
But it does get better. That’s something he promises
And this…… this whole everything adds so much more to when Jotaro nearly looses his life mere hours later and when Fugo makes his choice
Gosh. This just itches my brain. Something about Jotaro’s experiences actually meaning something. Something about Fugo being utilized as a character capable of growth. Both being so similar, yet so different. Jotaro was probably always thought to be violent, being half American, even when he wasn’t. Fugo was always thought to be a perfect child, but was truly so deeply hurting on the inside, he was super violent. And then they both snap, and no body trusts either of them. Jotaro has his family, and he’s able to overcome it on his own, because he does has a support system. But then there’s Fugo, who doesn’t. He’s got the Bucci gang, and while I love them, they’re also just a bunch of kids. They can’t actually help him. And finally, finally, immediately after Giorno proves his virus can be stopped, he’s got a mentor telling him it’ll all get better and it won’t alway be so awful
