Been thinking more about BeastStars AU.

Specifically, as regards how they'd get along with other animals of the same types in their human form.

Many thoughts, but main one coherent at this moment is Joseph working together really well with other corvids.

Like, they know both forms are him, that he's kinda in part a similar creature but not all the way. He's surrounded by the local crows frequently. They tip him off if they spot anything he might want to know about and bring him shiny/cool object, and he feeds them and helps heal them, both with hamon and just things being easier with opposable thumbs.

Caesar initial confrontation with him involves Caesar approaching him with intent to fight first and finding him surrounded by crows, and talking to them /with crow noises./

But air supplena island is not a great place for the crows. They still fly over to check on him once in a while, but there's just not a good environment for them. So he's cut off from that too.

My other main thought on 'interacting with other animals of same kind' is it'd be funny if other sheepdogs were none too fond of Jonabeast because their flocks like him better. Thus leading to Small Jonabeast getting harassed by other dogs until Danny comes to help and then he gets Big.

Also it'd be funny if random other people's sheep kept following him home when in Beast Form.

oh my god that's absolutely hilarious and I positively adore it

just. For as long as Joseph could remember, he'd always just been good with corvids and whatever other birds would find themselves on his window sil. He's basically got his own communication network in New York and gets all sorts of gossip from all around. And sure he wouldn't say no to helping out injured birds, he also won't say no to Shiny Trinkets being brought as gifts

I like to imagine that Joseph's horde is honestly really big. There's not much in there with monetary value, mostly things like bottle caps, metal bits, shiny rocks and the like, but every once in a while he'll get a gem or jewlery or two, which I'd imagine he usually gifts to Erina

speaking of gifting, I'd imagine that Joseph was SUPER picky on when and what he'd gift. He only ever gave things from his horde to those he really trusted and cared for, and for years that was only Erina and Speedwagon, with the addition of Smokey somewhere down the line.

and I'm gonna be honest, I love the idea of when Joseph arrives in Italy the first thing he does is introduce himself to the local corvid population. It's a little weird having to work from the ground up after having his network for so long, but it's a welcome challenge and fun meeting so many new birds

I also like to think that during their fight Caesar is just. BURIED in corvids, just because I think I'd be funny if there were way more corvids in this AU than there were pidgeons in canon. Just for the shits and giggles

but also ough Joseph's going to be so freaking lonely-

Honestly? it wouldn't surprise me if Joseph got a little claustrophobic on Air Supplena. He wouldn't be able to fly and the only way on and off the island is the occasional boat, leaving him functionally trapped in a way he's never really been before. Sure the island's big but it's not that big, especially for someone as active as Joseph

I'd imagine whenever Joseph gets any visitors he treats them as well as he can. Snacks, preening, maybe even a little hamon boost to chase the fatigue away, anything to make their trip worth it so they'd keep coming back. I'd imagine he asks them all sorts of questions...... but one of the most prevelant one is about the flight over. What did the sea look like, how many clouds were there, were the wind currents rough or smooth, what did the island look like from above, etc etc

(this behavior ofc confuses the HELL out of Caesar and he honestly has no idea what any of it means. He already thought it was strange how much Jojo seems to like corvids, but this....... this was weird in it's own way. And who knows, maybe for a tad of fluff, Joseph ends up teaching Caesar how to care for birds)

but also switching gears to a much more lighthearted topic, the idea of sheep just liking Jonathan's vibes is hysterical to me and I love it so much-

also for Bonding Reasons, what if the reason Jonathan had such a hard time with Danny in the begining is because of his previous difficulties with dogs? He wasn't super stoked about his father giving him one, but eventually he and Danny bonded and grew incredibly close as a result

also, I love the mental image of a Tiny Beast Jonathan following Danny around and that habit sticking with him even when he's substancially bigger than him

AU where Danny was a Stand User

and I have two possible thoughts for how it could go

1)He has a water Stand that grants him control over liquids, and he uses it to put out the water in the furnace. Maybe this could also add a bit to

or 2) his Stand is just The Dog Cannot Die

he can’t get injured, but most importantly he’s kinda immortal now. No matter what Dio does to him he’s just going to brush it off and continue living things as normal

Not sure how the plot’s affected, but Danny and Dio have a silent war going on because Like Hell Danny’s Letting This Golden Prick Hurt His Human

If the dog became the stand itself, I think this could lead to some ghost sightings and potentially some angst on Danny's part considering stands are imperceptible to the eye of a person that is not a stand user.

My bad I misinterpreted the second option. BC I am thinking about Danny dying but he lives on as a phantom dog that protects his master.

Wait @starry-blue-echoes I thought of a way to elaborate on the first idea, what if Danny's stand was like Iggy's the fool, except it uses water instead of sand and it's able to use water and fluids from any source and that includes wine from a wine bottle or dare I say blood from a living being.

👀👀👀👀👀👀👀

Danny gets to do some blood bending it seems-

also I had a Thought for the whole "ghost dog following it's User"

what if after Danny dies........ his Stand kinda lingers. Danny more or less pulls a Supernova and the Stand attaches itself to Jonathan with bits of Danny's consciousness still in there. He can't actually control or see Stand, but he's there :D

and honestly, I can see things going two ways for the end of Phantom Blood. Either 1, Danny manages to save Jonathan, or 2 Jonathan still dies but because Danny was attached to his body Dio now have a VERY angry Water Dog constantly following him around and making his life a living hell since because he's already dead, they can't kill or even severely hurt him

Im also imagines danny as a stand ghost but instead of being made of water he is made of fire.

The very thing that killed him is also the very thing that can kill vampire dio

Danny has the stand of of fuck around and find out

okay so this......... this gave me a really angsty idea

what if Danny dies on the boat

like, Danny was really old for a dog at this point, and definitely nearing the end of his life span. I did the math, and if Danny was only a few months old when Jonathan first got him, he’d still older than the average Great Dane lived to, being nearly 12 years old

Hamon gave him an extra boost, but it was clear to everyone that Danny was going to be dying soon and there was little they could do to stop it. So, Jonathan decided to bring the dog along with him and Erina on their honeymoon, and who was Erina to deny her husband this. After all, she was rather attached to Danny as well

but then Dio reveals himself and the boat goes up in flames and Jonathan gets his throat impaled

Danny doesn't have enough Hamon to help his master. He was more of a support role, helping amplify already existing Hamon, and you can't amplify what isn't there

And Danny has always been a loyal dog. So as the world burns around them and the life slowly drains from Jonathan's body, Danny is sitting there by his side like he's always been

(A century later, there are rumors about a pair of twin Stand Dogs who inhabit the mansion. One a raging fire, the other cool water, but despite the opposing elements they're practically identical. Many Users have been attacked by them, but no matter what they do no one can get them to leave)

JDRBVNJDRBVNDBFRVHD OH THAT’S PERFECT-

Any time Dio makes an attempt on Danny's life he uses his Stand to make it go wrong just enough that Danny gets out unscathed. Dio naturally can't actually see said Stand, so it really looks like this dog just Won't Fucking Die

he tries locking him in the furnace? the thing wouldn't light and he was rescued by a servant who went to investigate

he tries locking him out of the mansion in the middle of a snowy winter night? Danny somehow manages to get inside despite none of the servants letting him in and Dio knowing for a FACT the doors were locked

he tries pushing him out a window near the roof of the mansion? he sees Danny land on the ground without any issue or consequence

it's driving him up a fucking wall and he's starting to have suspicions the dog actually understands him but he can't bring it up to anybody because they'll ask how he figured it out

Danny is incredibly smug while all this is playing out

Give that good boi some holy water and he can deal with them vampires easy /j

In all seriousness, I think water control would synergize really well with Hamon, since water conducts Hamon iirc. Having some trouble thinking of what the stand name could be, maybe The Fray? Or maybe Brave (referencing the song by Sara Bareilles)? IDK, that's just what comes to mind off the top of my head.

OOOOOOOOOOO I DIDNT EVEN THINK OF THAT

while I'm not sure about the naming convention, I love the idea of Danny and Jonathan teaming up. The vampires and zombies they fight aren't going to stand a chance. Maybe Danny even learns how to use a little bit of Hamon himself

and then of course there's the added fun of just how pissed off Dio's going to be <3

So I’m thinking about Peanut Gallery again and just.

As angsty as this AU is going to be, imagine how fun Phantom Blood is going to be

At this point none of them have any idea what’s going on, other than the fact that they’re weirdly tethered to this kid who seems to be Joseph’s grandpa and they’re in the 1880s. And like. They can’t really do much aside from watching this kid so might as well make the best of it

The timeline of PB is a little weird with a bit of jumping around, but for the most part they do see a decent amount of things playing out. For example, the carriage crash and the Stone Mask, as well as several pieces of Jonathan’s childhood. It almost becomes like watching a tv show. Compared to everything they deal with, this all feels so…… normal, so they end up treating the whole situation very lightly while also taking the time to get to know each other. They get attached to Jonathan pretty quickly, and wish they could’ve met him

But then Dio enters the picture

Now, Jotaro is the only person who knows who Dio is. He hasn’t met the guy yet, but he’s the only person who knows of his crimes in the future, and naturally he’s very curious as to how it all came to be

And because of Dio Being A DICK, he immediately gets on everyone’s shit list for kicking Danny, even before Jotaro even explains what he does in the future. At this point, the watching gets…… less lighthearted. They still make some jokes and mess around, but now it’s almost entirely dedicated to dunking on Dio. They love Jonathan, and seeing his life essentially fall apart all because of this golden haired prick….. it hurts

They were all ready to kill this guy when he assaulted Erina, and you bet they were hyping the FUCK out of Jonathan when he beat the shit out of Dio after

And then of course the Stone Mask gets introduced, Dio becomes a vampire, and everyone realizes “oh okay so this is just as insane as what we have to deal with”

9. a missing scene that definitely happened

Not sure if this counts as a missing scene, but Danny was the one Jonathan would also infodump on. He wasn’t like other people, wouldn’t look at him funny or tell him he was talking too much or say his knowledge was obsessive, Danny would just sit there and listen, and Jonathan loved him for that

Avatar

So I had a silly crack idea

AU where sometime during or immediately after Stardust Crusaders Jotaro gets involved in time travel shenanigans and keeps showing up during important parts of the other Jojo’s lives

So like. For example he’s the one who saved Josuke when he had his fever. In his fevered state, Josuke thought his hat was his hair which….. you know what fair they’re basically merged.

But then he’s also the gangster that Giorno saved. Of course he’s not actually a gangster but he’s still a big intimidating guy who definitely vibes like mafia, so it all works out

So all the Jojo’s(and maybe even some other characters and villains) have memories of this teen in a black coat and gold accessories who helps them in some life changing way and then he just. Disappears without a trace

Maybe some of them, like Josuke/Giorno/Jolyne end up seeing a picture of Jotaro when he was younger and connect the dots. Maybe Joseph knew from the beginning when he saw his little grandson in his school uniform for the first time

Thinking on when he showed up for Jonathan - best I can think of is there's a bit in the manga but not the anime where lil kid Jonathan does not get along with Danny at first, but later nearly drowns in a flooding river and Danny saves him- maybe in this timeline, Danny is struggling to swim while carrying Tiny Jonathan and Jotaro helps him out- its dark and stormy enough, and Jonathan disoriented enough, that he can't spot any obvious anachronisms, but the selfless act from a stranger he could never find again was an inspiration to him.

Oooooooo!!!!!

If we’re doing it “chronologically,” Jotaro has no idea what’s going on. All he knows is that suddenly he’s by a lake in the middle of a storm with no idea where he is and also there’s a drowning dog and kid

So of course he jumps in to help the kid. Even excluding Jotaro’s interest in marine biology(which I’m pretty sure requires having a certain amount of hours scubaing if I’ve been paying attention to my friend’s infodumps correctly), given how close to the ocean Jotaro would have lived growing up I bet he’d probably be a decently strong swimming. Plus he also has Star for help

and maybe for Joseph the young boy got lost in the city, or if you wanna really make things ✨interesting✨ maybe he got kidnapped for Ransom Reasons and Jotaro just. Appeared in the hostage area and decided this was sketchy as fuck

Behind closed doors au where dio wasnt the one to kill danny but instead George had the dog put down (or slightly less terrible alternative where he made Jonathan get give him up)

Dio still doesnt like dogs but he appreciates that the dog can be there for jonathan in ways Dio could never. But then george decides to get him of it. Maybe to punish Jonathan or maybe George was being extra harsh by berating jonathan and danny got between them. Or George made a grab a JoJo and danny bit him idk you decided

Dio wanted to save danny but there was nothing he could do. he regretted making his distain for dogs so apparent becuase if he hadnt then maybe he could of convinced George he wanted to keep.

Dio was able to save dannys collar tho. A gift he gave jonathan in secret

——————

*grabs you like squeaky toy* You. You absolute GENUIS THIS IS PERFECT YESSSSS

Personally I vote the last option for why George decided to get rid of Danny, because George deserves to get bit and if Danny’s going out at least he’s going out swinging

And oof, Dio. He’s gonna feel so bad because his distaste definitely wouldn’t help the decision to get rid of him.

Prior to that happening, I think Dio's relationship with Danny would change as soon as he actually decides to help Jonathan- the duo going from 'useless mutt'/'that asshole' to 'fellow associate' on both ends where they may not actually like each other, but both care about Jonathan and recognize that the other is helping enough to leave well enough alone in Danny's case, or see Danny as an asset to keep Jonathan going in Dio's case.

Of course, the budding alliance makes it a double whammy for Dio when the dog is taken away, especially so if it's because of something he did protecting Jonathan. Maybe Dio starts to wonder if George will be just as cruel to him as Dario was it he catches Dio doing too much to help.

Now, I'm not much of one to get into JJBA speak online anymore, but this is giving me THOUGHTS.

When Dio gives Jonathan the collar, I bet you this solidifies Dio as someone trustworthy to Jojo. Like, yeah he had his moments at the beginning, but this act of solidarity? This act of kindness in the face of absolute cruelty? Oh man, that's character growth. Jonathan wouldn't care about what he's done in the past, he's too forgiving for that. Besides, in this AU, the worst of what Dio had done in canon hasn't come to pass, right?

I'm sure that there would be meetings in the library disguised as study sessions where Dio can ask if Jonathan is alright without being overheard.

Although, I wonder what would happen if anyone on the staff were to sell them out in the hopes of gaining favor with George? Would his ire turn onto Dio? Would he not care at all? It could honestly go either way, really. Especially when it could just be seen as people bonding when being forced into the same space long enough.

You know what? If George ever did turn on Dio, I bet that money would be held over his head. The fact that George has been paying for Dio's care and education. Oh yes, that would definitely be a point of contention, should things go wrong.

Trading one cruelty for another, that's what Dio did by killing Dario.
