(3/3) unita speciale and ending hijinks

- i wish i didn’t have to split this part into 3 there’s too many gd freakshows in golden wind (also lots of dragons this part i just realized)

- once again, the arrow is way more unpredictable here than in canon, it’s effects could range from slightly improved physical abilities to creating a weird shadow creature to making someone an alicorn

- Chariot stabbed himself with the arrow before dying, but he was able to possess the magic turtle shell before disappearing, which he just lives in after that. the stabbing allowed his strong determination to keep the arrow away from Devil Darner manifest into a physical form, Requiem

- speaking of Devil the reason he wants the arrow in the first place is cause he sees anyone else having it as a threat, instead of whatever happened in canon

- Requiem was based on the pony of shadows kinda, it’s more of an apparition than anything. Devil (who has also ended up as a kind of phantom similar to ghosty Sombra) gets rid of him in a weird spirit battle kinda thing and reverts all the soul swaps. Devil stays in this form though, which is how Glory is able to throw him out of space-time in the first place

- (the whole phantom thing is supposed to be like when he was just a stand and possessing people and stuff) the diavolo fight and the requiem stuff still confuses me honestly lmfao

I'm having a lot of fun with this au. One of the things I have in mind is the reader going with Rohan on his trip to Italy like in the Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe OVA, where they learn Hamon at Air Supplena since their Stand is more of a defensive type, and when Golden Wind rolls around they'll teach Fugo Hamon too so he doesn't have to worry about using his Stand to fight. Funnily enough, you know what else happens in Italy 2 years before Golden Wind?

Sorbet and Gelato's deaths.

The reader is going to save Sorbet and Gelato. Cioccolata and Secco won't even notice because Rohan can rewrite their memories. This will affect the economy greatly.

Rohan does a little Manipulate Mansplain Malewifing leaving Cio and Secco either forgetting the pair existed at all or thinking they're already dead

In the case of Fugo, Araki initially was planning something MUCH different for him… he was actually gonna outright betray the group bc he was one of Diavolo’s spies. But Araki was going through a lot at the time of writing that, and he thought it was too sad so he scrapped it.

People think he made the Cioccolata arc as a replacement for this, hence why Green Day and Purple Haze have similar powers

Avatar

yeah I've heard about that! I hadn't made the Green Day Purple Haze connection, so that's pretty neat and an interesting theory

honestly, Fugo being a traitor would've been absolutely insane but in a really fun way. The angst and character betrayal would've been delicious, especially with the difference in reaction from Giorno and Trish compared to the rest of the Gang who've known him for years, especially Narancia and Bucciarati. Maybe Giorno's immunity to The Haze could've been brought back too

Now, I have absolutely zero evidence for this so take it with a grain of salt, but I remember hearing a rumor sometime back that in the scenario of Fugo being a traitor, Narancia would have died possibly in some Self Sacrificial Way. My brain always interpreted it as Narancia possibly dragging Fugo into the Haze since he also wasn't immune to it

but rumor or not, if I had more thoughts about that it would be perfect fic material

Alright so we know that pillarmen have marking on their face (ac/dc with the “X”, wamuwu with the Square, and Kars with the eye spots/shadow)

Some people like to Head cannon characters with face markings as part pillarmen (Cesar, Ermes)

what about other characters with face markings like cioccolata or ungalo?

Avatar

w e l l

honestly it wouldn't surprise me if Cioccolata was part Pillarmen. That checks out...... honestly a surprising amount with certain canon things. He was stupidly durable during his fight, and it would honestly be kinda cool and funny if his Stand was also part of his Pillarmen Ability

as for Ungalo, it could be possible that the markings are from Dio. I know the guy has the three moles on his ear which Giorno has as well, but maybe the Vampire Genes decided to do some silly things

or who knows, it could just be a birthmark. A U-shaped birthmark is honestly really normal and possible by real life standards. I remember there being a kid at my school who had a really cool birthmark over one of his eyes that looked like a hand print

NEED YOUR OPINIONS FOR LA SQUADRATARO INTERACTIONS-

Avatar

FTHBVDFNBVD LA SQADRATARO IM-

But as for the interactions

He and Risotto definitely get along and interact the most. They're both on the quieter side but also are good at giving quick, clean explanations and take their jobs seriously.

And to almost everyone's surprise, he gets along pretty well with Ghiaccio too. Or at the very least, Ghiaccio isn’t pissed off by him beyond usual. It helps that he doesn’t really say much and thus can’t send him into a rage

Pesci kinda annoys him, but he’ll tolerate his presence. He can appreciate what Prosciutto’s trying to do, and we’re Pesci not constantly there probably would hang out with him more

he’s pretty neutral with Formaggio and Illuso. He doesn’t interact with them much, but he doesn’t hate them

And Melone...... Melone confuses him so he keeps his distance (cough ace cough)

As for interactions? I’ll admit I don’t have that many ideas. Jotaro is essentially their Eject button for when shit starts getting a bit too unmanageable, and they only had a few days together planning before they split up for their respecting tasks. I like to think that at one point someone ends up asking why Jotaro’s doing all this, and that it’s all to find One(1) guy. They’re impressed, a tad underwhelmed, but impressed

also, naturally the given chaos of Star as a Stand in general and the nature of the timestop. Definitely a lot of fuckery there on top of the fun when it comes to the actual saves

Avatar

W E L L

for one, while the mold is going to S U C K for him to deal with, it's not really going to result in any lasting damage and you bet your ass Cicco's going to be interested as hell in Whatever The Fuck Jotaro Is

given how they're probably going to be working with the Bucci Gang, there is the question of which "group" he's going to go with, but for the sake of it let's say he goes with Mista and Giorno to fight Cioccolata just so we can have this fun interaction

he absolutely makes some. Interesting comments that make Jotaro Feel Things, one of which being the shocking emotion of missing Melone's company. At least the man was more manageable than Whatever The Fuck This Is

So no idea where this AU came from but

AU where Giorno gets time travelled all the way back to when he was a small young child, freshly moved to Italy but with all his memories and stuff intact but with only regular Golden Experience

so naturally he starts trying to fix things preemptively and along the way ends up accidentally meeting and befriending everyone in the Bucci Gang long before he’s supposed to and long before they even met each other. Ofc, he doesn’t spend much time lingering on it because He Has More Important Things To Do And Getting Them Involved Will Mean They’ll Get Very Very Hurt, but meanwhile they’re all Concerned about this actual child who never seems to have a parent around and is WAY too smart

Also I feel La Squadra should get involved at some point. Just because

Well, they were against Diavolo too, just fate set them against each other, and the more he thinks about it the more they're the same as the Bucci gang save for fate and all of them being a bit older, presumably falling into it a bit sooner- which means if he wants to spare them the Tragic Backstories he's going to have to move fast, on far less info than he has for the Bucci gang, and it's still too late for many of them.

OH AND THEN MAYBE ONE OF THE LA SQUADRA CREW, WHO HE’S TOO LATE TO SAVE FROM THEIR TRAGIC BACKSTORY, NOTICES THIS WORRYINGLY UNCHILDLIKE CHILD

-Maybe it’s Sorbet and Gelato, those two are the eldest iirc-

and then they investigate, see that things are CLEARLY not great for Giorno, see him trying to help seemingly random people who all have stand potential, and are like... hm.

And they offer to adopt him and kill his shitty parents for him.

Then Giorno’d be torn between staying in his own hell, going with them and in being better protected losing much of his freedom to go out and help, or try and explain the whole situation to them.

Y E S S S S S S S

Giorno at first wanting to keep them completely uninvolved, but he just keeps running into everyone constantly(except Bucciarati he doesn’t live in Naples yet) and then one day it just hits him that he can prevent their futures. Some of its going to be completely out of his control or reach, like Narancia’s mother and Bucciarati’s father, but with everyone else he can at least try to shift things. He still of course has to find everyone in order to make these changes, but there’s at least a plan in place

I’d imagine he’d still try not to get too close, to limit their interactions to keep them at an acquaintance type bond. After all his goal his dangerous and he doesn’t want to risk them dying again. And it….. really hurts. After all, he may have only been properly close with Mista, but he still cared so much about the others too

but ironically, it’s this distance that brings them closer. Giorno acts…… as you put it, so unchildlike. It throws people off, and sparks no small amount of concern, especially in adults. And the little things he does to help them, and while it’s usually only company or words, it’s all he can offer to them and the can’t help but notice it. The way he talks, the way he acts, the way he’s comfortable around them yet keeps them at a distance…..

they can’t help but try to get closer to this strange child

And for the Squadra, what if to throw in a bit of extra fun, the point which when Giorno has been sent back from had been a couple years after he became the Passione Don. So because of that not only is he pretty experienced in Mafia Stuff, but he also knows all sorts of stuff about Passione and Diavlo, specifically about La Squadra’s first assassination attempt and how as a way to dissuade that, Diavlo had the two killed

so what if Giorno just. Keeps finding ways to throw them off and by extension keep them off Diavlo’s radar. After all, while they did try to kill him and the Bucci Gang several times, they were definitely strong and he could use that strength in overthrowing Diavlo again. Right now, they’re still really useful

and maybe Sorbet and Gelato are the first to be interested in this strange child. Maybe they’d had the most Sightings of him, and comparing that to the times everyone else see him they’re pretty curious what he’s doing and why he’s able to spend so much time out

only what they find……. isn’t that great. And maybe for some extra fun, what if they end up realizing the kid has a Stand but mistakenly assume it’s just a healing one, and then start worrying over how bad it is that this kids soul is specifically doing everything it can to fix the damage

maybe they start to fill their spare time getting closer to the kid. Learning what he likes and making themselves seem like trustworthy adults

and when they finally ask…… Giorno doesn’t know what to say. On one hand he despises that house. He misses the comfort and safety of the home he had with Mista, of not needed to scrounge up food or tiptoeing around to avoid someone’s anger.

but at the same time, what he’s doing is so much bigger than just him. His comfort, his safety, it’s barely comparable to the lives of those he can save, and he can’t risk that. And the idea of actually telling people…… that scares him

The idea of him finally letting himself get closer to them while not letting them get closer to him is interesting. Like he lets them adopt (kinda kidnap) him. Lets them raise him around la squadra but he does ever tell them what he knows. One in occasional cryptic comments that unsettle them.

They somewhat try to keep him out of mafia business. Not lying to him or anything but who know having him maintain a healer on the side and not a actual member. One for him to force his way in and have bot only concerning knowledge about the situation but also skill.

Skills a child should not have.

Y e s s s s s s s

Giorno being super cagey about his Stand, which they can respect. And they eventually learn that it doesn’t heal per say, he just creates new tissue to replace the stuff lost. Also that the process isn’t exactly painless and Giorno had to know exactly what to make and where in order to fix injuries.

What if at first they only went to him to treat little stuff. Some bruises, some cuts, maybe broken bones, but anything more than that they handled themselves. After all, the kid’s already seen some shit, and they have standards. Plus, they’re under the impression Giorno’s only ever healed that much

But then one day something goes wrong. Maybe it was a target who put up a fight or an assassin being sent after one of them, but Gelato gets hurt bad and is only just barely able to make it back to the shared meeting house

It’s a bit of a scramble, from everyone. They can’t exactly call a hospital, but they can only do so much with the limited supplies they have on hand. They really don't want to loose a member they’ve had for this long, and they especially don’t want to have to explain it to Giorno. They’d all seen how attached he’d gotten, and well….. they had too, and seeing the kid lose someone wasn’t going to be fun

And then they notice Giorno watching from the corner of the room

Immediately someone, maybe Formaggio, steps up to try and steer Giorno away from the scene. Whether this goes poorly or not, the kid doesn’t need to see this-

But Giorno doesn’t bat an eye. As soon as Formaggio starts heading toward him, he dodged around him, bolting to Gelato’s side. He can do something about this, he knows he can, and he can’t let this man who’s done so much for him die.

And at first the Squadra try to stop him. They try to keep him away, to block his view, anything they can…..

But when he reaches the body, Giorno doesn’t even flinch as he touches it, he doesn’t cringe at the crimson staining his hands or clothes as he works, he doesn’t pull back at the pained screams as he knits Gelato’s body back together

And the whole time he didn’t say a word, just moving with smooth, methodical, practiced steps

It’s unnerving how efficient he is

And when he finally looks back at them, blood staining hands and face with those haunting blue eyes that are too blank, too hardened, too neutral to ever belong to a child, they begin to question just what exactly happened in that house he was rescued from

Oh man, I just had an idea for a series of events.

First off, while Giorno would try, I could see him not always succeeding in throwing La Squadra off the scent. Whenever he thinks they get too close for comfort, he asks if Ghiacchio and/or Pesci could stay over. Now, Ghiacchio understands why the kid would invite Pesci, he's really good with the kid (probably 'cause he acts so much like a kid himself), but why in hell would Giorno specifically ask for him?

Well, at some point, possibly a few months before canon, the truth comes out. And among everything else, one of them asks why Giorno keeps asking for Pesci and Ghiacchio, and he reveals that he believes they would be the best counter for the two people Giorno knows were involved with Sorbet and Gelato's execution — White Album being a suit stand gives it blanket immunity to Ciocolatta's Green Day, while Beach Boys (Giorno hopes) could possibly track Secco even through walls, since phasing through walls is one of the most notable traits of Beach Boy, as is tracking heartbeats.

And while Ghiacchio isn't especially phased by this (really, he's more upset about wondering what counting has to with being good against someone else), Pesci has a mini crisis, because Giorno believes in him. Giorno believes in him so much that he would have him as a guard against what could be considered Passione's boogeymen. So yeah, Pesci gets a bit of a confidence boost.

Y E S S S S

Giorno and Pesci bonding wasn’t something I thought I’d get but I am absolutely here for it

And speaking of the the reveal, I’d imagine that the more time spent with the Squadra, the more and more anxious Giorno would become. At first they were just possible extra firepower for the future, something he’d take comfort in having on his side but not a strict necessity. Only then he begins to grow attached to them, gets to know them, and with every second that goes by, he starts to grow more and more guilty about getting them involved

And what if that’s how Giorno gets caught? After a couple years of living with the Squadra and throwing them off Diavlo’s tail, they catch him doing it. And of course, upon uncovering it this raises all sorts of questions, and given how long Giorno has been keeping this up…… it wouldn’t be completely out of the question for some of them to possibly think Giorno’s been something of a double agent this whole time. They’re shocked and betrayed because out of everybody, Giorno was the absolute last person they expected

and what if this is when Giorno just. Breaks. The years and years of his self imposed isolation, of keeping what he knows secret, have finally come to head and the possibility of loosing what is really the only family he has right now……. he finally snaps

He tells them he’s from the future, tells them about his own plan to overthrow the boss, but most importantly he tells them how they all died, specifically how he played a role in some of their deaths

How Gelato and Sorbet were killed before the adventure even began in cruel ways, how Formaggio was shot and burned, how Illuso died from a horrible virus, Prosciutto was crushed by a train, Pesci was cut into pieces, Ghiaccio was slowly impaled, and how Risotto was the only one to make it to confronting the Boss himself only to die and aid his escape

And this is the first time they’ve ever seen Giorno so…… so not put together. Despite all the time they’ve spent with the kid, not once has he ever been so desperate. It’s almost as unnerving as how he acts usually

I do think that in the end they would believe him. Despite the shock of this supposed betrayal, ontop of all the facts and explanations he has to back it up, they have grown to care for and trust Giorno. While it stings knowing he kept this secret from them for so long, they’re able to understand why, especially upon learning this all happened when Giorno was 15 years old

They’re also able to help Giorno out quite a bit. They pull back completely on figuring out the Boss’s identity, after all Giorno just told them it and all the info they’d ever need, and they shift gears to try and find a different man

Gwess: I did, once. It was really pretty normal. My dad, my mom, my dad's human pet.

Jolyne: Your dad's what now?

Gwess: Yeah, y'know, sometimes a family has a dog and sometimes a family has a guy your dad probably kidnapped and who eats nothing but sugar cubes, and that's perfectly normal, actually.
