you know i have this tougth that what if giorno and haruno are twins
and for all of part 5 giorno leaves whith the bucci gang without leaving and note haruno starts poking around and from what he gathers asumes giorno was lidnaped by the mafia
..........okay so
this is likely not at all in the direction you meant for it to do in but
what if. What if Haruno accidentally created Giorno with Gold Experience-
like. Haruno was experimenting with what exactly he could and couldn't do with Gold, thought "hey can I make people?" and then the next thing he knows he's looking at Him But Blonde and can't bring it in himself to turn him back into the small pile of rocks he started as
given the fact he was made by a Stand, Giorno can see Stands but doesn't have one of his own. However, he does still have a bit of ingrained loyalty to Haruno and the damage reflection :)
Haruno's bio mom and stepdad has no fucking idea where this Honestly Terrifying Identical Blonde Kid came from, but there's some freaky magic shit going on with him and the last time the stepdad tried hitting him it resulted in a black eye and the kid being untouched so they give the pair a wide berth
they honestly think Giorno's some kind of weird fae thing that attached itself to Haruno. The bio mom's aware of the existence of vampires since Dio, so she just assumes other magic things could be real and that Giorno is one of them (which...... she's not fully wrong but not quite correct either). However, on paper Giorno is Haruno's twin
Giorno is also....... Really Weird. While he definitely has the mentality of a child, there's also Some Other Stuff going on in that head of his which comes from his Weird Creation. He's also stuck in a weird in between of being VERY protective of Haruno and looking out for him vs being a little brother and looking to Haruno for guidance. This feeling is also reciprocated by Haruno, and the two honestly flip back and forth pretty often on who's the "older sibling" of the day
and ofc, things are absolutely INSANE with the Bucci Gang. He probably explains away the damage reflection as his Stand Ability, but Haruno not being there with Gold is going to get things interesting
maybe at one point after the whole Betrayal Thing Giorno all but demands they go back to Naples immediately because like hell he's leaving Haruno alone and at risk like this
I imagine they get Haruno and like the gang is suspicious but hey he is Giornos fraternal twin and its not like they have a legitimate reason to distrust Giorno.
On the side Haruno is just like “how the fuck did you join the mafia, I leave you unsupervised for like 5 minutes and now you in a gang”
Im imagining that fake Gios personality is the same to our canon Giorno personality while Haruno while similar to gio they are still different. Haru is even more introverted and reclusive while also much less ambitious, like he wants to help people but he was thinking on a much smaller scale than taking over the mafia to stop the drug trade. Also I imagine him even more distrustful that gio. Along with that they are probably both kinda weird. They seem to communicate sometimes without ever talking and are sometimes a little to in sync. mista says its a creepy twin thing
I think haru would be really reluctant about his disclosing his stand abilities, possibly even lying about them to protect gio. Plus i think since gio is a creation of his stand he cant help but listen to haru whenever he gives him an order (which haru hates becuase gio is his own person stand created or not and he should have complete free will). So haru is always careful with his wording whenever talking to gio but i could also see him using this to keep gio out of trouble.
Also imagine with purple haze fugo is like how are you not dead. And gio the king of lying his ass off is just like “I deflected the poison”. Fugo is so made becuase that no how that’s supposed to work.
Now what would happen to gio when he stabs himself with the arrow is what im wondering
Y E S S S S S S S S S S S S S S
oh this is all PERFECT I love it
the Gang definitely get some uncanny vibes from Haruno, but it's nothing that can't be explained by the twin thing. They do probably wonder about the black vs blonde hair, but again like you said they really have no reason to doubt them
I also had a funny idea for what exactly Giorno told Haruno. Maybe to hide the whole I Joined The Mafia thing (at least until he was of high enough status to start getting actual benefits, don't want to worry Haruno without being able to show him how this can benefit them) he says something along the lines of how he might've found some friends and they wanted to go out to lunch, would that be okay?
and of course Haruno, who is always looking for more ways to help Giorno be his own person, is absolutely on board with this! He tells him to take as much time as he wants, that him going out is a great idea, etc etc
.......but then Giorno doesn't come home that night
naturally, Haruno gets worried, so on the second day he goes out to try and find him. He even asks around, seeing if anyone’s seen his brother and where
that’s how he ends up hearing he was last seen with Bucciarati
now, Haruno may not have been nearly as interested in Mafia Things as he was in canon, but he wasn't stupid. He knew just how much power Bucciarati had and exactly what he did
unfortunately for everyone involved, Haruno's mind immediately jumps to thinking that Giorno has been Dealt With. Suddenly his brother's evasiveness about his "friends" and how he wouldn't tell Haruno where they were going didn't seem like his usual shy social awkwardness and now felt more like he was trying to protect him
so now Haruno is 90% sure that was the last he was ever going to see his brother and he was now dead or maybe even worse
on the third day Haruno isn't sure whether to cry with joy or shout himself hoarse when Giorno shows up out of the blue with a team of mafioso's in tow while explaining they've started a coup against the Boss of Passione
and I LOVE your ideas of how Haruno is. He still wants to do good but.... he just isn't fully sure how. He knows the source of the problem, knows why things are the way they are, but at the same time he doesn't want to risk it. Maybe part of the reason could have something to do with setting an example for Giorno. After all, for their whole lives he's constantly been protecting Haruno by using his own body as a shield and for just as long Haruno has been trying to curb that behaviour. If he went around helping people without thinking of his own safety, that'll just encourage the behaviour (does this work out in the end? no, not in the slightest, Gold's influence is too powerful for that, but hey he's trying his best)
ABSOLUTELY with Haruno lying about what Gold does to keep Giorno's secret safe. Maybe he explains it as only being able to make plants, since that won't limit his options too badly while still keeping Giorno safe. The damage reflection….. that might be a bit harder to explain away, but I don’t doubt it’ll come up eventually so maybe that says it’s a Twin Stand Thing?
and just. OUGH the angst that comes with the Gang meeting Haruno. They knew the two were likely very close, the few times Giorno talked about his brother he spoke like he’d hung the stars in the sky, but in person…… it’s a difficult thing to gauge. They’re fairly confident nothing bad is currently going on, but there’s something they can’t quite pin down
I'll admit, I don't have too many thoughts for exactly what Giorno's Stand would be, but I LOVE the idea of him getting a Stand with the Beetle Arrow. Not a Requiem one, but still a pretty powerful Stand because he's got a lot of Fighting Spirit in him
......honestly, the whole Him Fighting Diavolo is going to be really interesting on principle because he....... honestly would have absolutely no way to hurt Giorno without killing himself in the process
also I had a Thought for how Giorno is able to make it through The Haze
So Haruno is absolutely going to do everything in his power to keep Giorno from disappearing and to try and make him his own person. So what if as an experiment, Haruno decided to try and pour as much Life Energy as he can in Giorno, enough that it’ll be able to make him Independent
unfortunately, this had more or less the opposite affect as intended and the bond tying them together became even stronger than before…….. but there were some other side affects too
after all, Haruno worries for his brother. He wants him to be healthy and safe, and the fact he repeatedly throws himself in the way of danger to protect him worries him a lot. He’s afraid that one day the Damage Reflection isn’t going to be enough and Giorno might actually get badly hurt
so imagine their surprise then Giorno ends up getting a bit of a regeneration factor afterwards. That the new Energy inside of him and the bond that constantly fed him more made injuries almost nothing. He doesn’t get as tired as easily, he doesn’t need as much food, and he’s just generally more durable
but of course, this isn’t without draw backs. Giorno has a limited amount of Energy he can draw from to fuel these boosted endeavors, and every time he pushes himself more than his body should be able to handle, it saps more and more energy from Haruno to keep up
Did I make this up for the fun Thoughts of by the time the Coup begins, Haruno ends up getting attacked when the Bucci Gang come to rescue him and gets hurt because he doesn’t have enough energy to protect himself?
Maybe :)
