2010. A Japanese woman sits down to take photos of her shiba inu dog for her blog. Suddenly, a man leaps out of a time portal. "Sorry, I can't let you do this. I cannot tell you why." She asks: "Is it forbidden knowledge from the future?" He sighs: "No, it's just too fucking stupid to explain."

Do it halfway. Take one piece of trash out of your room, throw one dirty shirt into your hamper. Go to one class and miss a different one. Start a drawing without pressure to finish it. Give yourself space to Be without the expectation to Become, and do small things to make the Being livable.

Mohammed and I live in this tent and don't protect against the winter cold or the rain. 🥶😞💔

The roof is worn and there are holes, and the windows are also open. Rain enters inside, and the door also has holes, not closed, and water leaks inward. ‼️🍉💔

We need to buy a shader to cover these holes so that the rain doesn't leak on us. This cover is very expensive.😭

🤚If you feel free and have some humanity, please help us and donate to us... link campaign

Protect us from the winter & cold.. Stand with us🙏🫂

Your donations, no matter how small or large, will save my family from the war zone in Gaza. I trust you and your humanity.🙏🫂🍉

trans people on tumblr celebrating an absolutely rabid zionist being elected to congress simply because she is a trans woman and then utterly shouting down anyone who mentions it is incredibly fucking embarassing.

genuinely losing my faith at an exponential rate in a lot of the people on this website which sucks because i thought it was the last bastion of online progressive principles. and now i'm realizing it's kind of just woke reddit.

Blunt Rochester has previously been supportive of legislation by Rep. Betty McCollum (D-MN) in favor of placing restrictions on U.S. aid to Israel, one of a series of policy positions that have sometimes placed Blunt Rochester at odds with members of the state’s pro-Israel community, even as they’ve maintained a relationship. McBride, however, told JI she wouldn’t be supportive of legislation like the McCollum bill. McBride emphasized that federal law already contains protections to ensure that U.S. aid “shouldn’t be used in ways that contradict our values,” and voiced “serious concerns about any policy that would single out Israel and treat it differently than other countries that we support through foreign aid” or hold it “to a different standard.”  Disputes between allies, she continued, “are best handled within our existing relationship.” She expressed support for the continued fulfillment of the 2016 Memorandum of Understanding for U.S. military aid to Israel. McBride described the “special relationship” between the U.S. and Israel as “a bedrock of America’s national security and our global values” and as rooted in the U.S. and Israel’s “shared values” and “common goals of global security.” “I believe it’s a critical relationship. It’s one that I will certainly work in Congress to continue to protect,” she continued. “And I believe that it sits right at the heart of our values as a democratic nation.” [...] McBride also expressed her support for the Abraham Accords, highlighting the bipartisan support for the agreements across multiple administrations. She said the Accords could “underpin a future two-state solution” and support regional security for Israel and other nations. Expanding the Accords to include an agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia, she continued, would be a “significant step forward.” She said she broadly supports Biden’s foreign policy agenda, which “strikes the right balance of promoting America’s values, advancing America’s interests, and expanding peace and security around the world” — a characterization that she extended to Biden’s handling of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.  To address Iran’s nuclear program, which McBride described as an “existential risk” to Israel and security throughout the region, McBride supports a new nuclear deal, ideally one without sunsets, with strong inspection requirements “and other components to ensure that it’s robust as possible.”

so yes, she is a Joe Biden-level zionist who has received money from Pro-Israel PACs. more of the same on the Israel front. if anything, more aggressive than the average House member.

Israelis in Amsterdam crying because they got beat up after chanting "let the IDF win, fuck the arabs" without anyone stopping them. Many of these people also were in Gaza for months and killed people but now they're afraid of those savage Arabs hurting them :(

Controversial opinion but if you "served" in Gaza then I think you should be afraid of getting jumped for the rest of your life ❤️

I can translate the Dutch news article for you! I speak Dutch!

Multiple riots

Maccabi Tel Aviv Hooligans abuse taxi chauffeur in Amsterdam

By RTL Nieuws / ANP | 7 Nov 2024

Supporters of the Israeli football club Maccabi Tel Aviv have come to blows multiple times in Amsterdam. According to the police, fights broke out against pro-Palestine protestors. A taxi chauffeur also got abused, which resulted in a group of taxi chauffeurs seeking to confront the hooligans. Ajax plays tonight against the football club from Tel Aviv.
The police in the capital reports that, last night, there were multiple "tensions" in the city. According to the force, some of the riots could also be connected to supporters of the Turkish club Fenerbahce, which will play in Alkmaar against AZ.
A video of the abuse of the taxi chauffeur is making the rounds on social media:

(Translation: It was a turbulent night in Amsterdam due to Maccabi hooligans. This scene says it all: a hooligan jumping into the canal... Our city deserves better!)

(Translation: Shameful and unacceptable: an Amsterdam taxi chauffeur attacked and abused by Maccabi hooligans. This violence must stop. Support for our chauffeurs who keep our city running, even in difficult times.)

After that abuse, a group of taxi chauffeurs allegedly confronted the Maccabi supporters at a casino on the Max Euwe Square. Police officers had to intervene in order to prevent a fight.
A Palestinian flag was pulled from a façade on the Rokin. The football platform Ultras reports that, spread throughout the city, multiple fights had broken out between Maccabi hooligans and pro-Palestine activists. It was especially turbulent between 1 AM and 4 AM. No arrests were made.
Preventive frisking
Amsterdam mayor Halsema, together with the judiciary and the police, has designated certain parts of the city, including the Dam Square, the Red Light District, and the area around Central Station as safety risk areas. That means that police can stop and frisk anyone in these areas as a preventative measure.
A planned pro-Palestine protest at the stadium could not continue, because there is a risk that this could lead to riots and violent confrontations.

Just want to note that you might want to take this news source with a grain of salt, since RTL Nieuws has a pro-Israel bias.

Do people realize that choosing to deal with the outcome of this election by going into the inbox of minorities on Tumblr (particularly Arab people) and blaming them is probably not the look they want to go for if they want to dispute that they have internalized racism or view people of color as their punching bag for something that had nothing to do with them

I’m not even saying this recreationally like pop a Xanax no one wants to deal with this

I also can’t believe this needs to be said but why do people feel the need to be like “Is this what you wanted?? Are you you happy now??” Like no???? It was always a decision between two fascists. People of color (and esp Arabs) were dreading this election bc they knew that neither choice would herald any actual change. Now imagine being in a person of color’s shoes and knowing that no matter what you did you’re being fucked over anyway

anybody paying attention saw the rise in conservatism among the youth over the last few years. the return of the r slur, modesty/ tradwife content, rampant fatphobia, misogynistic twitch streamers...the writing was on the wall

The New York Times made it crystal clear recently:

genZ males are as conservative as 65+ year old men.

Everything feels awful right now but it isn't really. We still don't officially have a winner, but regardless of how the presidential election ends up, I wanted to take a minute and find what lights I can in the 3 a.m. darkness. Here's what I know:

* Kentucky overwhelmingly rejected an attempt to undermine the public education system by offering private school vouchers:

* Delaware has elected a transgender woman to the House of Representatives, the first out trans person of any gender ever elected to congress:

* For the first time in history, two Black women will be serving in the senate at the same time, and they are only the fourth and fifth Black women ever elected to the senate:

* New York State has passed a constitutional amendment enshrining the rights of pregnant people (including the right to an abortion), LGBTQIA+ people, the disabled, immigrants regardless of legal status, and other at-risk groups:

* Democrat Josh Stein has beaten self-avowed Nazi Mark Robinson to become governor of North Carolina:

That's everything I know off the top of my head. It's not many bright spots, but it's not zero. I'm going to try to find more and I'll add them to the post. It's the only thing I can think of to do that isn't sobbing and throwing up or looking up Canadian immigration rules.

If you know more good news, I encourage you to add it in reblogs.

* Nevada has amended their constitution to guarantee abortion rights, overturning a state ban:

* Colorado has passed amendment 79, guaranteeing the right to an abortion, with more than a 20 point spread between the Yes and No vote:

* Maryland Question 1, also focused on reproductive rights and abortion, has passed as well: https://www.cnn.com/election/2024/results/maryland/issue-1

* Likewise, Amendment 3 has passed in Missouri, overturning a near-total ban to add reproductive rights to the state constitution:

* Arizona Proposition 139 to protect abortion rights also passed:

Every glimmer helps.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
