Do you think there would be enough people signed up tho? Just a sg1 exchange would be good too, to maybe broaden interest more than strictly SJ but too make it less of a demand on you than Anything Stargate haha (but if you think a SJ exchange would get enough signups, totally go for that hehe)

Hey anon! I honestly have no clue how many signups there would be, but last time people almost exclusively requested a fic for the same ship they wrote for -- all the SJ people wrote for each other, all the DJ people wrote for each other, all the Sheppard/McKay people wrote for each other, etc. So theoretically it would totally be possible to run an SJ-only exchange with equal or less work than the SG winter fic exchange.
Since you sent in your ask the idea has definitely been percolating in my mind, because I love running fandom events. I keep telling myself I don't have time, which is true, and that I'm not really active in SJ fandom anymore, which is also true. But my brain likes new shiny things. So we'll see -- maybe I'll revisit the idea in a few months :)

Hey there! As of right now, we're not planning another exchange--at least not yet.
I don't know of any fandom events going on right now. Off the top of my head, I know there's a Sam/Jack ship week in maybe a month? Ish? Sometime in June/July, I think. Not sure if that's your ship of choice. I'm not aware of any Jack/Daniel ship festivities going on right now. I am absolutely sure that there are followers of this blog who know more than me--y'all, please chime in? :)

It’s great to know there’s interest in another exchange.
To give you a window into exchange-organizer thinking, I think the main considerations when including fan art in an exchange are
- the minimum word count would probably be longer so that the artists get something good in return for their work
- photos can’t be internally hosted on AO3.
But neither of those mean we can’t do fan art next time, and I (starry) would personally love to do this, so we will definitely seriously consider it.

Would it be possible for you to set me up a second assignment for my recipient? I wrote two stories after having a wobble in confidence but figure she might as well get them both!
Hmm. I think the best way to do this would be to use one to fulfill the prompt, and "gift" the second outside of the exchange. Then you can let us know where the other story is and we can add it to the collection manually!

There should be an option to select a recipient for the exchange when you post the fic! It's a checkbox-ish thing: here's a picture, I'm on mobile so excuse the messy box.

AO3 has it set to midnight (00h) EST on the 14th however it wouldn’t be a huge deal if you need to post it later in the day. It’s not an automatic default if it’s late, however noon EST on February 14th would be the latest we’d rather without a message sent out way :)
