Redemption arc is so important that it made a Villain deserving the Happy Ending that his shippers asked for. It's not about Fixing someone who's nature is evil, it's about recognising someone has traces of goodness still inside them, & believing this THING inside him will turn him, given the Sufficient Trust & prompt, he will act on his own choice & turn. Redemption is not justifying Evils, not trying to be blind to someone irredeemable & force Happy Ending on someone dont deserved it.

But giving hopes to family members or loved ones of the fallen men, that they can hope as long as you see trace of Light inside them.

Redemption arc of Ben Solo is what made him stand apart from other villains of many toxic ships. And made Reylo relatable, and male Reylo a positive Ship, not a toxic ship.
