[I heard in an interview that the only reason C7 happened was because Jeri Ryan was dating Brannon Braga, and Braga thought it would be funny. If that's true, what a slap in the face to fans who spent seven years watching Chakotay and Janeway build an amazing relationship. Tossing it away for a joke? It's so disappointing.]

The guys as cats... something to post in the meantime of other WIP disco related projects.

Kim's design is very much inspired by Laskapsy's calico kim :] (although less badass in my style.)

Harry is just a trashfire alley tabby. He needs a vet check up n a half...

Extra idea of a silver mixed coat but it's a bit too dull for kim. Thinking more for Vic

is it me or are the societies, settings shown in Discovrery season 3 and Star Trek Picard feel entirely interchangeable?

Just you. Picard showed us an intact and thriving Federation, with a frontier zone beyond it in the former Neutral Zone, still recovering from the fallout of the Romulan supernova.

Discovery is showing us a completely fractured universe in which the loss of FTL travel has caused the Federation to disintegrate, with many former member worlds becoming isolationist, focusing inward rather than wasting resources on dwindling interstellar trade routes. What is left of the Federation and Starfleet is small and poorly resourced, struggling to keep going.

So far, the only point of commonality between the two has been the existence of the Qowat Milat

Superficially it would seem so, but the worlds we’ve been to Earth is still the same, living in denial of greater reality, we’ve explored the post apocalyptic society  Romulans a lot during Picard, vs the Post Apocalyptic societies left by the Burn, and Stardust City and the Marketplace from the season premiere are similar in nature. Both live in the pocket of the other.

Or maybe its just the cinematography that lacks distinction.

I think it is the outfits. All of the outfits in picard are drab, often leather, looks like they have been worn in for a long time. Same with Disco. You could have put Book in Seven’s outfit and vice versa and they would not look out of place next to each other.

Then there are the holographic displays, while they look cool, are pretty much the same. And the lighting is nearly identical between the shows. They don’t seem to be making any bold choices there to differentiate the two.
