Currently on view at Antler Gallery in Portland, Oregon is artist Faunwood's solo exhibition, "Slither."
Miranda ZImmerman, better known as Faunwood, creates delightful and exotic ceramic sculptures and illustrations of woodland critters. "Slither" is a very welcome continuation of the brilliant series from the Eugene, Oregon-based artist.
What is this supposed to mean
My first instinct was boomslang and a little googling seems to have proved said instinct correct (image source). While a boomslang possesses deadly venom the species has only killed seven people in 50+ years, so it’s not exactly on the most deadly list for venomous snakes.
And ironically (considering the caption) the boomslang has one of the slowest acting venoms of any venomous snake; it can be several hours before symptoms even begin to show which gives the victim plenty of time to seek medical treatment.
