Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier-838 in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" (2022)
Since I regularly get this image of Yelena Belova from Marvel: War of Heroes by Marvel & CyGames submitted to me, and all the posts related to it are very funny but also pretty old, while I was going through fixing them up I decided I should just make a compilation post about it.
Besides the initial art which is pretty amazing in itself because it looks like she was just chopped in two and tossed out a helicopter, there's also these two great follow up submissions:
One by @kaliandra showing what she'd look like from the other side which is hilarious and very well done.
And one I also absolutely adore from @thatwarmtoastyfeeling showing how actually this entire image makes sense because it's actually two Black Widows (presumblay Natasha is the butt) together! Gotta get with the lore, people.
Anyway I wanted to share them because I dunno how many people reading now have seen them and I figure you'd all get a kick out of it. :3
Marvel Comics: Sweater Weather
Art by Dan Hipp
this is so funny. Aquaman has defected to the other side. he's literally the only one left. Ben Affleck would rather do anything else than play Batman again. Ezra Miller and Gal Gadot are too busy abducting teenagers and defending Israeli war crimes, respectively, and if Ray Fisher ever sets foot on a Warner Bros lot again it'll be so he can blast Joss Whedon with an actual laser cannon.
the curtains open on Justice League: Omega War or whatever and it's just the guy who played Martian Manhunter in the Snyder cut, talking about how happy he is to be there
I have been desperately waiting for christain “unhinged method actor who is all about the process” bale to spill the tea about his experience on marvel set, and that day has come
link to the article — something I highly suggest ppl take the time to read
ALIEN (2022)
thinking about how they built sonic's cave and how they built sonic's quill and how they built sonic rolled up as a ball and how they built robotnik's fucking hovership and actually wrecked tom's car and shot the tower with a drone and how they fucking made a gun helicopter and got real wolves in the real snow and got a bazillion cop cars for the chase scene and despite the fact that their main character and now two more are fully cgi they use as much practical effects as possible, even if only sonic is in the scene they built the set and swing the tire around for him to be on it and they even talked about the possibility of building robotnik's machines. they only used green screen when absolutely necessary and even built parts of the mushroom planet for jim carrey to interact with. the animation is beautiful and that's partly because practical effects do half the things that other directors would have made the cgi people do because i'd be easier on them and also set/makeup/prop people have unions. in the director's commentary jeff fowler says that jurassic park and movies of that time are what got him into cgi and the medium and that makes complete sence because jurassic park was a masterful mix of cgi and practical effects, straight up building an entire t-rex robot, that kind of mixing magic that jurassic world didn't even want to do. the movie looks so real and that's partly because it is real. so much of that is real.
meanwhile marvel is cging in brie larson's hair in their billion dollar movie
yeah
yeah
Oh my god I didn't even notice that, my god.
Like... That isn't just tightening up and smoothing out the costume to make it more photogenic, either. That really is full on making her thinner and bustier.
I'd understand CGing her hair if they made it conform to zero g physics, because that's something impossible to do with real hair, but they didn't.
EXCUSE ME!?
What just happened!?
IATSE and their new contracts happened, and this is a VERY GOOD THING. The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers has, under threat of an industry-wide strike by film and TV crew supported by the Screen Actors Guild, the Directors Guild, and the Screen Writers Guild, finally agreed to negotiate better working conditions, longer turn around times to allow crew to rest between shifts, and better pay for material being put on streaming services.
What this tells us is that Marvel was using backbreaking conditions to get their shit made, and these delays are because they've been forced to actually ensure safe and fair working conditions and adequate compensation for the people working on their projects.
it’s jeff! infinity comic #3
