Modern Klingons are afraid to dress like their forebears

i know the animated series predates them but that purple is very much like the color of klingon blood in the movies. klingon warriors wearing vests that match the color of their own blood so the enemy can’t see how badly they’ve been wounded and so their injuries do not discourage the other warriors who are following them into battle.
