The Cardassians turn the tide of battle...
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 7
- Looks just like her. - Let’s hope she fights like her.
The new Defiant is taken into the final fight.
Oh also the DS9 and TNG finales are both excellent, they work well for each show (a minor quibble was the unnecessary use of stock footage during the battle but I guess having one more intro battle would have broken the bank) and are vastly different from each other. Both offer a sense of continuation but where the TNG one ends with promises of more of the same, the Enterprise and all her crew together, DS9 is about moving on, some emotionally some actually packing up and go.
TOS never got a finale as it got cancelled (even with the HD closeout to make give it at least a thematic one matching TNG/DS9) and Voyager was a mess of writing and copying TNG, and Enterprise’s has been scrubbed and buried and will never see the light of day again (I kid it can be enjoyed but only in the context of the novels which breaks down the ‘official’ history versus what actually happened, but making the finale about Riker’s choice during The Pegasus....bad).
I’m also not ignoring TAS, but the format of the series I doubt it needed a finale (which would probably have been what? version 17 of Kirk and Co. return to Earth and make bad decisions to split apart while the Enterprise is rebuilt).
And I’m done with my DS9 Rewatch!
I’ve got some gifs queued and a season 10 caps left to do at some point but that’s it.
I don’t foresee doing a Voyager or Enterprise rewatch but it doesn’t mean there won’t be caps or gifs coming about (or TOS for that matter)
I started this with a TNG rewatch in late 2014 and they were sporadic in their nature at first. they became sorta more involved as I got along in the series.
There probably won’t be a replacement old show/rewatch right now as I have my hands full with the current slate of programming. but you never now. There could be a SeaQuest or BSG 78 right along the corner.....
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine “What You Leave Behind” (airdate 06.02.1999)
The flashbacks work well for this finale
It’s so nice of the Pah-Wraiths to restore Dukat back to his Cardassian form just in time for the final confrontation.
The novels had so much work ahead of them to retcon how the fuck Worf became an ambassador to the Klingon Empire only to have Nemesis not address any of this in the least.
We live in uncertain times.
Has no more fucks to give.
