Life sucks rn but here's a spell to highlight the good
So my life is in a very stuck/icky place rn. No job, not in school, mentally ill, living with bf and parents cuz he's also jobless and mentally ill and his family sucks, don't see my friends really, trump and pence are gonna be in office, my money is going to student loans while I have no income, I have so many things to do and no energy to do any of them. Not to mention all the shit going on in the world with ndapl, racists and bigots feeling like it's ok now to be violent toward poc, lgbtq+, Muslims, etc. (This is scary especially since I and most of my family/friends are poc/lgbtq+/minorities) But even with all that i have a lot to be thankful for. So I started a gratitude jar. I also cheated and made it into a wish jar as well, but I make a point to make sure the gratitude always outnumbers the wishes by a lot. I gotta say that the top of my list is my parents, my bf, my spirit companion who has been supportive and encouraging this whole time, my God, and my friends even tho we haven't talked in awhile. Honestly, the people in my life have been the biggest blessings. And I don't really have anything more to add than this. I just wanted to put something positive here, and I encourage everyone to start a little gratitude jar (not my original idea btw, just my ideas for ingredients/process). Mine has: - salt for purification and protection - bay leaf for purity and sending gratitude and wishes to the heavens - lavender for peace - orange peel for warmth and joy - dandelion seed for wishes - basil for bringing in prosperity (less in monetary and more in terms of having a balance of giving and receiving freely) Obviously you can substitute ingredients with your own associations, but having the intent of gratitude and content feelings is the general point. It also smells nice 😤 It helps me focus to say what each ingredient is for as I add them. Afterwards, I ripped up little pieces of paper and wrote various things Im grateful for on them. I also added a little sigil for "gratitude" on each slip of paper. Try to stay in a grateful/content state of mind as you add things. All we want is satisfied and thankful energies in this jar. Even if you add wishes, try to keep it calm and remember that gratitude. I didn't want the papers to get covered so I didn't add much of the ingredients, just a few sprinkles/pieces to get the energy flowing. I love the smell and when I open it I feel calmer and happier, even without reading the slips (tho that helps too).
