um yes thank you, you can always scream at me about scorbus and my bi kids!!! (i’ve read tcc but honestly i only tagged that oneshot as tcc so that it was in the tag, i kinda verred from ‘canon’ if you consider tcc canon (which i normally don’t) (but i love to consider the fact that albus and scorpius literally love each other so much from tcc as canon) (so there’s that )) (also yes same i definitely headcanon both ginny and harry as bi) (headcanon but more like canon am i right kids?)

but like despite the play’s many flaws ii have so much love for the cursed child version of draco though
he’s alone and hurt and grieving and repressed. at one point he admits that he envied harry because harry had actual friends, whereas he had cronies and connectionms who would have probably been in azkaban or not wanted to talk to him after the battle of hogwarts and everything that went down there. he grew up trying not to become like lucius and be a better person and arguably it succeeded but it cost him so much. he lost his reputation, his family, everything he might have had. no matter what, he would always be draco malfoy the ex-death eater who might have raised voldemort’s kid.
all he wanted was for scorpius to be happy and do well. and i think that’s admirable enough
what bothers me about scorpius and albus, is that their relationship is written as a romance. we have the awkward introduction (”hi scorpius. i mean, i’m scorpius. you’re albus. i’m scorpius.), which is a common romantic trope, then we have the growing friendship, the hugs, the declarations of devotion, even other people notice it. snape compares his love (romantic love, for how creepy one can find it) for lily to scorpius’ for albus. we even have the boys repeat the “always” line. scorpius thinks of albus against the dementors. he is jealous of albus’ feelings for delphi.
it’s a romance, throbbing with tropes and evoking scenes. and yet, right at the end, they had to make it straight.
and let me tell you, it doesn’t make sense.
Albus Potter :: “So what would you like me to do? Magic myself popular? Conjure myself into a new house? Transfigure myself into a better student? Just cast a spell, Dad, and change me into what you want me to be, okay? It’ll work better for both of us.”
