I just found out my cousin-in-law is a superhero window-washer! Lol. He’s Captain America. His partner is Spider-man.

SO, I’m currently catching up on the Secret Empire lead-in comics and mini-series right now and BOY HOWDY, kids, I WAS NOT READY, OKAY?

So my favorite Marvel character is actually Helmut Zemo, 13th Baron, and son of the man who “killed” Bucky Barnes. Zemo has technically been fighting Cap since he was 6 years old, but he didn’t really hate Cap until his father died fighting the Avengers, and ever since he’s been wanting vindication. Zemo has tried on occasion to do the right thing, but badly. Mostly, he is chaotic neutral or lawful evil and one of Steve’s top enemies.

BUT NOW WE HAVE THIS.

Long story short for those who haven’t read it yet: Helmut’s going along with Steve’s fake memories of them once being friends in WWII, and is now supporting Steve in his (Cosmic Cube-induced) desire to take over the world with Hydra, all because Zemo misses having a family. Now he’s adopted Steve as his big bro and is basically his right-hand man. And Steve believes Zemo is basically his original Bucky.

Secret Empire is mega-crazy. It’s bleak and bittersweet and I’m sorry it took me so long to get around to reading it.
