Well this is just about one of the best things I've ever had the pleasure to work on. It's for Jamie and her amazing daugher Teddi! Here's what Jamie said about the quote:
"This is my 4 year old's quote to me, and I just really needed to immortalize it and see it all the time... "If you're a hero to me, you can be a hero to yourself." Her name is Teddi, and she's my hero. ❤️"
Thank you so much Jamie and Teddi... you guys are my hero!
My five-year-old created this as her way of saying Happy Birthday America!!!! Oh, and those are wolves, and they're pregnant!
A few months ago, Harper sat down on my lap while I was working and said: "Can I help you, Daddy?" I said: "Of course, why don't we start our own project!" (She loooves "projects"!)
So she asked if we could draw all of the Superhero Girls that ever existed! I was totally on board with this plan. She picked the specific girl, then I started out by drawing the basic shapes, the head, etc and Harper did the rest! She picked the colors, drew the hair, the lasso, and especially the dresses. I then came back in and gave it all a little bit of love and detail. (I also drew a little frame when we were all done!
So here is our very first one! (we've done about 15 more, and will post them all soon!)
Jestin Rice and his daughter Haddie give us this hilarious quote. Here's what Jestin told me:
"One day Haddie turned to my wife and said. 'Mommy, I have a new best friend. Batman. Batman is my new best friend'. I find it funny because I'm sure my wife was ready for her to tell her that she was her new best friend only to have her say Batman!
I swear we’ve all been sick for 4 months now. Come on Wonder Woman... we’re waiting for you to come kick the crap out of our colds!

I can tell you that the spirit in this little girl will some day "grow up" into a spirit equivalent to the biggest, baddest thunderstorm the world has ever seen!
Not quite sure what category this compliment falls under, but it sure was fun to draw, and it sure made my wife's day. It will also forever be a term of endearment in the Spaghetti home.
I recently got this message from a mom in New Jersey: Dear Spaghetti Toes - I love your work. My daughter, now 8, is unabashedly proud of and keenly aware of how her comfort in her own skin makes her older sister, now 10, cringe. So whenever things get too tense at bedtime we can count on our youngest to strip down to nothing but her panties and blond curly hair. She will then announce, in her best announcer voice, while posing in a superhero stance, " Dum, Dum, Dum...behold, it's...OPTIMIST IN UNDERPANTS!"
She made her decision. She chose her babysitter. Poor Spidey.
"I LOVE YOU THE BEST!" Quite possibly the highest praise a little sister can receive. Brooke Cowen's Superhero-loving son said this to his new little sister. Ironman and Batman look less than thrilled but I know deep down that they totally understand because sisters are pretty rad. (I have 5 of them!) Thanks Cowen Family!
It's been a while but here's one from my own flesh and blood. Continuing with the superhero theme, I overheard her playing with her action figures yesterday and here's what she said about his poor poor Iron Mother. You can be sure there will be revenge on the ultra evil Maria Monster!!!
Great day for Superhero print! This one comes from Amy Czetyrbok and her superhero son.. Here's what she had to say about the print! Wyatt was in the hospital with pneumonia last week and the nurse kept missing his vein trying to take blood - they had to re-do the needle three times, it was so sad. He was crying but then he stopped and said to the nurses, ʺI think I know why the needles keep breaking.ʺ The nurse asked why and Wyatt said, ʺyou see, I'm Superman in Training so my veins are made of steelʺ

This "Super" sweet saying comes from Zhennaa Thompson and her 2 1/2 year old daughter Isla of Sudbury, MA. I love how this one turned out for so many reasons. Thanks Zhennaa and Isla!
