But I think making people realistically and inexcusably flawed but still likeable and good is a real strength SU has!!

Lars is an interesting character to me because yes, he’s an asshole and a jerk, but it’s definitely for a reason. People aren’t just inherently assholes and jerks. It’s always either a learned behavior from parents, or a result of being hurt, or even as a result of hating oneself for whatever reason. I think it’s important to recognize that about Lars without excusing his shitty behavior. I’d love to see his character get explored more like that. We saw tidbits in Island Adventure and Horror Club, and I really do hope we see more!

And yeah, it’s important to remember that Sadie is flawed as well. Every doormat-type character DOES have a breaking point. And they have a tendency to hold on to anger until that moment of SNAP, when they unleash it all at once in a horrible, slightly terrifying way. It’s just further proof that everyone is capable of being completely three-dimensional, and no one is perfect. We’re all just humans, doing as we do.

And that’s just a really cool aspect of the show!

in my head canon, Lars acts out because he’s actually really insecure and depressed.  And Sadie is the only one who bothered to know about it.
