These were some sketches I made for the hidden fore-edge paintings I made a while back (see IG reels). I had several people ask to add this to my print pool, so I made a task to clean it up a bit. I always felt The Locked Tomb series was more Cyberpunk-ish in story tone, even though it's presented as gritty-dark, and so carried that here. 😎 Due to the medium it was intended for, it was pretty comic-bookish in style already, so I had some fun with hatching to give some texture (which was another great therapy distraction.)

love love love how tactile palamedes's expressions of affection are. hugging harrow so wildly he lifts her off the ground. touching his forehead to camilla's. holding gideon's hand after she recounts her traumatic past. kissing harrow's forehead, cam's knuckles, dulcie's hand. he might be the only man ever

#look#tamsyn always talks about how ianthe is a girl doing what is typically a male trope#which is true of cam harrow and gideon#but also Palamedes!#the scene of a traumatic backstory given to someone doing the emotional labor to comfort you#that person is usually a woman#palamedes is the most empathetic and emotionally intelligent of the mains#he got the mommy/sister/wife role#there are so many scenes in movies tv or books or the woman of the group#giving the hero a platonic kiss on the cheek as a reward for something heroic#this is what palamedes does to harrow when he kisses her#it's the kiss approval from the character 'with the most heart'#tlt

The fact that TLT artists have the huge task of drawing Harrow as a wettest rat yet also the most highly sought after character but every day they nail it. Mostly by making her look like a mercury poisoned roman emperor .

I'm sure there's other explanations but visuals in my head were too funny not to draw it

harrowhark is five foot nothing and built like a damp worm on a string and feels so strongly about keeping her face and body covered at all times that if she doesn't have access to face paint she will cover her skin with her own dried blood and she has the personality of a deeply traumatized eleventh century orphan getting shipped off to a nunnery after her parents' passing and every eligible bachelorette in the nine houses desires her carnally to such an extent that they will rewrite the course of their lives over it
