Bao dur seems like he’d just give the softest smooches all the time
Baze Malbus neither knew nor trusted the rebel soldiers around him. He did not respect their loyalties. He could not rely upon their skills. He would fight alongside them because Jyn Erso had accepted them into her own revolution—not the revolution of the Alliance, but one that had risen from the ashes of the Holy City to bring retribution where resurrection was impossible.
He trusted Jyn’s fury and her fire. Most of all—though he was loath to admit it—he trusted Jyn because of Chirrut Îmwe. Those whom Chirrut trusted, Baze could find a reason to trust as well.
—Rogue One: A Star Wars Story novelization by Alexander Freed
Baze will do anything for Chirrut—even trust random strangers they’ve only just met—just because it’s what Chirrut believes is the correct path. Even if it isn’t necessarily what he’d choose. Even if he doesn’t understand where Chirrut’s faith comes from. Even if he thinks it’s a terrible idea, really
I love him
I like better the idea that this isn’t the first time Chirrut has followed or attached to random people because “the force”.
Give me Baze finding him at a different life day meal every year like “who’s this?”
Brilliant smile.
“These are my friends.”
And Baze just like…surveys the table like “where did you find this blind fool this time?”
And peeps are like, “he was fighting three trandoshans in a bar after they spilled his sake.”
And Baze is like Ah Yes that sounds like him but turns sternly anyway.
“It was perfectly under control,” Chirrut says, still eating.
“Trandoshans would have nailed your skin to a wall.”
“My skin is intact,” followed by, a blithe, “You can check if you like.”
That gets the pause it normally does.
“…Later.” Baze mutters, looking away from him.
“It was my fifth sake. I was quite safe. The force was with me,” Chirrut goes on, supremely unconcerned.
“Well I need to be with you next time to tell the beerkeeper your limit is /four/ sake and then I take you home.”
“Bahhhhhhh.”
…
Seriously though, Chirrut probably does things because of the force that look ridiculously impulsive and smiles it all off.
Compared to this, Jyn probably makes a lot more sense to Baze. At least she’s pissed off and ready to fight, and not one of these people like “oh we must shelter this poor monk who has suffered so much at the hands of the world” shit. Pissed off and ready to Fight makes a billion times more sense to Baze than all the people he swindles with his smile and his disability and the thought they’re doing a good and holy deed for that little shit.
I bet there’s a look on the way over like, “If this is for me, I’m getting you a leash.”
And Chirrut grins like a perfect asshole.
“Aah. You would not contain me with any leash. The force will free me. And it is good to have friends.”
“I have plenty of friends.”
“You have me,” Chirrut stick-thumps for emphasis. “And I do not count.”
“You’re worth a hundred,” Baze murmurs.
And Chirrut grins, pleased, because he’s a little vain.
“Well now you have more.”
“I don’t want more.”
“Behold my husband, the man of simple taste,” Chirrut says more loudly than he has to, making a presenting gesture, “They said the monastery would find him peace.”
Kaytoo looks up and that just makes Chirrut worse because he grins bigger with an audience.
Baze points a finger at Kaytoo, who looks away quickly.
“Do not let this man fool you, since I have known him I have not had one moment’s peace.”
“I didn’t say anything,” Kaytoo protests, “I’m…flying the ship.”
“You can’t find peace in the bottom of a monk~” Chirrut sing-songs.
Baze whirls like he’s been stung.
“I want this faith-drunken fool left in the nearest cantina to pickle himself!”
“Can’t. Don’t have time,” Cassian mutters, developing a vicious headache. By the force do these people not understand having a mission?
“You should have thought of that years ago!” Chirrut laughs.
“I DID think of that years ago.”
Chirrut keeps laughing and feels for his fingers.
Baze moves his hand so it’s in Chirrut’s path, easily found.
Hey people! Here’s the thing: my laptop is in pretty bad shape, (to the point it just randomly dies on me at any given time) and I’m afraid it could just die forever any day. I have some money saved up, but it’s not enough to get a new one. Normally, I wouldn’t mind not having a laptop for a while, but I need if for my work, since my main income is through digital art. I’m not asking for donations, as I don’t expect anyone to just throw free money at me, (however, if anyone feels like they want to go for that, you can check my blog and “buy me a coffee”) but I decided to sell some original watercolor pieces to help me gather the remaining money. Here’s the link to the store! Please take a look at them, and if you can’t afford to buy one yourself, please spread the word! It’d help me tremendously. I’m also taking commissions (although they might take a little longer to make than usual because of this situation) Thanks!
Hi friends!
Next month, I am finally starting my first real job. Unfortunately, I had to buy a whole bunch of new clothes that are work-appropriate because most of my wardrobe is old and worn-out, and the stuff that isn’t looks very unprofessional. This means I am a bit short on money, and I would really appreciate a small financial boost.
I have re-stocked my Etsy with cute jewellery from different fandoms, some of it new, some of it made a while ago. It would be great if you could check it out!! Maybe you even find something that you like and want to buy. Or if not, you could pass this post along by reblogging it, so someone else might find something they want.
Thanks a lot, I hope you’re having a swell day. ♡
Reunited in the Force
Rhayme raised her glass. “To success—and perhaps, new friends.”
Asajj was surprised at her reaction. She didn’t have “friends.” But she’d grown to admire Lassa, and the other woman had kept to every part of their bargain. And... she was good company. Ventress said nothing, merely gave a fleeting smile as their glasses clinked.
---Dark Disciple prequel: Kindred Spirits by Christie Golden
It’s amazing how much more I care about Ventress and Lassa Rhayme after a five page prequel than I do about Ventress and Quinlan Vos after an entire novel.
tag yourself I’m Bashir
I thought about chopping all of Anakin’s limbs off, but that seemed slightly too much
You can tell our whole empire I don’t have to see you right now I don’t have to see you right now
Aaaaand i’m back with more Gallifrey fanart after forever. Romana II and Pandora. Sped-up drawing video here: (x)
I love that the Doctor just has a box of very annoying things.
Someone please draw Clara trying to fit 12 in the box of annoying things.
OK
This is perfect.
Some illustrations for “Eleven-Day Empire”. Morlock with Eliza in the tower, Morlock and Justine finding the bomb, Morlock delivering a speech in the Parlament. Yes, I just freaking love Morlock
Free Big Finish - Demons of Red Lodge!
Now that’s more like it!
So, this week, BBC4 Extra is offering Part 2 of Heroes of Sontar, which on a scale of 1 to 10 is probably about a 6. Portions of it are good. Portions…meh.
I tried to post the upcoming Free Big Finish broadcasts, which are available for a week on iPlayer. But there were some gaps in the schedule, and it looks like more have been added.
NEXT WEEK (Oct 10) IS DEMONS OF RED LODGE. It’s an anthology, 4 half-hour stories, three of them spoopy stories suitable for Halloween, and the fourth a fan favorite, “Doing Time.” I’m fond of this audio: nothing epic, just some fun Team Nerd stories with a mix of horror and humor.
The Doctor and the Master trying (and sometimes failing) to save each other
you know what i'd love to see? a dragon version of the time lord lovingly known as "horrible cloak guy."

what a specimen
Well this is the final piece in my 12 days of christmas series! Hopefully you’ve all enjoyed it, I certainly did!
Day 12 ends where we began, with the Doctor and the Master again, although slightly different incarnations this time :) This picture is heavily inspired by the Short Trips story ‘UNIT Christmas parties: Christmas Truce' which I was reading the other day to get myself into the christmas spirit. Its a hilarious short story, and I suggest you all try and find yourselves a copy!
