still insane that jonathan instinctively checked lonnie’s trunk in s1

And he was supposed to have a redemption arc while they killed off Steve originally.

Thank God the duffer bros got a hard no one that one

being a writer leads to a genuinely helpful but also very stupid kind of mindfulness where you'll be having a sobbing breakdown or the worst anxiety attack of your life and think "okay, I really need to pay attention to how this feels. so I can incorporate it into my fanfiction."

  1. Yes, this is stupid
  2. It does work to disrupt unhelpful behavior
  3. If it's Stupid but it works, its not stupid.

Mike: *disbelief* You slept with our dungeon master?

It wasn't the fact that they were two dudes that bothered Mike, but the fact that it was Steve Harrington who slept with their dungeon master.

Steve: Keep up that tone, asshole, and I'll get your precious dungeon master pregnant just to piss you off.

Eddie: *leaning towards Mike* There's 50 bucks in it for you if you make your tone worse.

Mike: You can't get -

Eddie: There's another dimension under Hawkins. It's baffling the things that you can't believe in, but you can believe in that. You need to be a little open-minded, Wheeler.

Mike: 🤨

Dustin: I call dibs on godfather! Ha!

Mike: Bullshit! You can't call dibs!

Steve: *watching them argue* This could have gone worse.

Eddie: *grinning* Still could.

Could really use more media where wives viciously protect their husbands

Also violently. I want very violently. I want her to go scorched earth. I want five scenes earlier to see her husband being diplomatic and calming down a situation so no one gets hurt because his wife is in danger. And then something happens and now he's unconscious and being threatened and his wife just absolutely levels a seven block radius with the force of her refusal to let anyone hurt him.

There is nothing better than the antagonist finding out the husband was the humane restraint on a woman who can make the Furies go “…wow, okay, that’s maybe a bit much.”

Bonus sketch:

One day, Eddie suggested getting a pet.

And brought this guy home.

Plot-twist: Steve hates birds. Or hated?

10 Non-Lethal Injuries to Add Pain to Your Writing

If you need a simple way to make your characters feel pain, here are some ideas:

1. Sprained Ankle

A common injury that can severely limit mobility. This is useful because your characters will have to experience a mild struggle and adapt their plans to their new lack of mobiliy. Perfect to add tension to a chase scene.

2. Rib Contusion

A painful bruise on the ribs can make breathing difficult, helping you sneak in those ragged wheezes during a fight scene. Could also be used for something sport-related! It's impactful enough to leave a lingering pain but not enough to hinder their overall movement.

3. Concussions

This common brain injury can lead to confusion, dizziness, and mood swings, affecting a character’s judgment heavily. It can also cause mild amnesia.

I enjoy using concussions when you need another character to subtly take over the fight/scene, it's an easy way to switch POVs. You could also use it if you need a 'cute' recovery moment with A and B.

4. Fractured Finger

A broken finger can complicate tasks that require fine motor skills. This would be perfect for characters like artists, writers, etc. Or, a fighter who brushes it off as nothing till they try to throw a punch and are hit with pain.

5. Road Rash

Road rash is an abrasion caused by friction. Aka scraping skin. The raw, painful sting resulting from a fall can be a quick but effective way to add pain to your writing. Tip: it's great if you need a mild injury for a child.

6. Shoulder Dislocation

This injury can be excruciating and often leads to an inability to use one arm, forcing characters to confront their limitations while adding urgency to their situation. Good for torture scenes.

7. Deep Laceration

A deep laceration is a cut that requires stitches. As someone who got stitches as a kid, they really aren't that bad! A 2-3 inch wound (in length) provides just enough pain and blood to add that dramatic flair to your writing while not severely deterring your character.

This is also a great wound to look back on since it often scars. Note: the deeper and wider the cut the worse your character's condition. Don't give them a 5 inch deep gash and call that mild.

8. Burns

Whether from fire, chemicals, or hot surfaces, burns can cause intense suffering and lingering trauma. Like the previous injury, the lasting physical and emotional trauma of a burn is a great wound for characters to look back on.

If you want to explore writing burns, read here.

9. Pulled Muscle

This can create ongoing pain and restrict movement, offering a window to force your character to lean on another. Note: I personally use muscle related injuries when I want to focus more on the pain and sprains to focus on a lack of mobility.

10. Tendonitis

Inflammation of a tendon can cause chronic pain and limit a character's ability to perform tasks they usually take for granted. When exploring tendonitis make sure you research well as this can easily turn into a more severe injury.

This is a quick, brief list of ideas to provide writers inspiration. Since it is a shorter blog, I have not covered the injuries in detail. This is inspiration, not a thorough guide. Happy writing! :)

steve is pretty chill mostly, but when he does get jealous he gets JEALOUS!!! like, he's not making it eddie's problem, but he is staring down anyone being incredibly flirtatious with his guy. eddie, oblivious, is chatting away, and steve's just over his shoulder pantomiming violence. sometimes when steve is particularly sensitive, robin joins in pretending to bury a body.

also god forbid jonathan "steal yo girl" byers comes within 5 feet of eddie, steve's not even being subtle, he attached to eddie like he's welded himself there.

eddie, unaware of steve's death glare and jonathan's SMIRK, is just super pleased steve's being so clingy with him today.

a follow up: EDDIE on the other hand, is super jealous all the time, he is circling steve hissing and yowling, hanging off of him. he landed his dream man on the first try he is NOT letting anyone near him get awayyyyy

and jonathan "steal yo girl" byers one day decides to do the funniest fucking thing, because eddie's never felt threatened by any of their actual friends, so jonathan rocks up on steve in full action. ofc steve blushes.

eddie is devastated.

I’ve seen fics where Eddie sees Steve post-season 2, all sad and pathetic after his fall down the social ladder, and then Hellfire adopted him. They’re perfect. No notes. Ten of out ten. I will read every single one of them.

However.

It is very funny if Steve adopts the Hellfire Club as his new friend group. They have no choice in the matter.

The only good thing going on in his life right now is that Dustin has decided that he’s cool. Steve doesn’t want that to change so he’s going to have to learn a few things because he never knows what the hell Dustin is talking about.

So, “You guys know nerd shit, right?”

Hellfire blink at him.

“You do. Good,” Steve continues, pointing out the Starfleet ensigna on Grant’s jacket. He sits in Eddie’s seat like, “Have you heard of this board game called Demons and Dragons?”

They blink at him again and share looks with each other that say that this is a hell of a day for Eddie to be absent. Jeff is the only one brave enough to say, “It’s uh…it’s Dungeons and Dragons.”

“Oh,” Steve says, flipping his notebook open and writing that down. “Sweet. What else?”

Eddie comes back to school two days later still a little stuffy from his cold to find Steve “The Hair” Harrington in his seat, talking to his friends, making plans to watch Star Wars that weekend.

He’s just like, what the fuck.

three person poly relationship made up of two people who are already dating trying to coax someone with horrific self worth issues into a loving relationship. stray cat style

they’re all laying together in bed and the couple are both thinking to themselves like good, he stayed the night to cuddle and talk when we offered, he should know that we genuinely care for him and want this to be more then a handful of one night stands. and the stray cat guy is like wow this sure is nice i think i’m falling in love with them. it’s really too bad that they don’t actually give a fuck and hate me and probably want to kill me with hammers for no reason
