Satoshi, you’re supposed to dislike physical contact…

I was curious about that too, but as my friends brought up, Citron is the first male regional companion who is closest to Satoshi’s age! Maybe with the others, they felt too old to be physically affectionate with ( except for Takeshi, but even with him, it took until Battle Frontier for him to more regularly be affectionate… they had that really sweet moment when they parted ways too).

Because Satoshi can be a bit more huggy with boys closer to his age particularly if they were in life-threatening situations together A.K.A. Hiroshi/Richie and Yukinari/Sammy.

Also, Dent’s affectionate nature possibly rubbed off on him, because touching his shoulder was something Dent did a lot. : D;

*cough* I have a tag for behaviours from Satoshi-to-Citron that I would have expected from Dent >O> Tooi was a bit younger, though (well: "if Satoshi is short for his age and Tooi was even shorter, Tooi was probably way younger"), and Yukinari was... clearly an oddity (personal spaaaaace wow). Ssso that may be why I found it a bit "paternalizing" from Satoshi to Citron - because until now, Satoshi accepting physical contact of "congratulation"... was with younger kids ^^'' (AND THE MIZUGOROU MAN, BUT WE WANT TO FORGET ABOUT IT. And Satoshi was being rude!) Until now, Satoshi didn't initiate contact much, even with Takeshi (the fact he was okay with Takeshi touching his shoulder was a Big Proof Of Trust towards mama Takeshi, I always felt! Takeshi was special, with all the time spent together >w<); it was even more obvious with Dent given how Dent was really easily touching him -> in a lot of cases, Satoshi tensed up or tried to avoid. So, no contact unless something functional had to happen (handshake, fistbump, sharing a moment, saving someone, an accident, etc. I squealed, at the beginning of AG, when Satoshi put his hand on Takeshi's shoulder to introduce him to Haruka and Masato! =D). I don't know, I feel like part of the ~magic~ with Citron is slightly disappearing. I always liked that bit of Satoshi, the fact he wasn't relying much on physical contact with other humans (Pokémon aaaaaaare another story <3 Pikachu is probably a big one on his own.) ... I had forgotten I also had a tag for this, in fact x'D (There are dubious jokes in that one, though.) (...... And in fact, I already had that talk about Satoshi not liking physical contact, with hell'!)
