The last episode of Pokemon Best Wishes, it certainly has been a while, Bulbasaur. Alexa and Ash are at the Oak ranch.

Reblogging again - so, according to Aza, it roughly says: Satoshi and the others arrive in Kuchiba City, and their travel together ends as they leave the Decolora archipelago. Time for farewells with Iris and Dent. Now, they all go forward their respective dream. So, apparently, the dreaded separation won't be until next week, not in this week's episode. In that case, we would have the same format as the "last" episode of OS (well, there was another one after it, in which Satoshi headed to Hoenn, but...): first part of the episode with the two companions, then, going back alone and staying in Masara in the second part.

More Best Wishes news!!!!

The short summary of the final BW episode airing on September 26th (as confirmed by the trailer which says that Best Wishes finale is on September 26th) confirms that Ash is back in Pallet town and goes to meet his old Pokémon. Team Rocket trio is also there, as per usual.

As for the Cilan/Brock meeting … The title is …

Dent and Takeshi! The Angered Gyarados’s Outrage!!

The episode where Cilan and Brock meet seems to be a special and is airing on October 3rd (after the final BW episode). Cilan is confirmed to be in Johto (which means Brock is there too) and fishes by the lake when an angry Gyarados emerges. He battles the Gyarados with his Pansage, but his Pansage gets badly hurt upon losing.

Still no news on Iris stuff. This might very well be a one-hour special like Dawn/Brock specials during BW with Cilan getting one episode with Brock, and Iris getting the other with Clair.

October 10th is having some sort of special XY broadcast.

October 17th marks the beginning of XY anime.

Well isn't this presumptuous?

This French website assumes that the mysterious first two Thursdays of October will be used to air the 59th and 60th episodes of “Best Wishes Season 2”, even though this very article declares the 58th episode to be the series finale, as was confirmed by the preview teaser for the series ending.

On the other hand, it does seem odd that Season 16 of the “Pokemon" international dub would only have 45 episodes rather than a number closer to the previous seasons’ episode counts (48 episodes and 49 episodes). Even stranger would be that it would mean only one episode, the last episode, would air in December in the US: the same month that would have to also air a movie on CN that features Iris and Cilan with Ash even though they would have already just left him on the show. So it is possible that they’ll throw out two extra episodes before the premiere of "XY”, and the hyped premiere of “Pokemon: The Origin" on the Wednesday before the first mystery air date would serve as a distraction from the unceremonious finish to "Best Wishes.”

And if any episodes could fit that scenario, it would be these ones.

Just don't trust French websites. Just... don't. French-speaker testifying here. If the Japanese magazines are saying 9/26 is the last episode, then it is :3 Yes, two weeks without an episode makes a three weeks gap between Best Wishes!'s finale and the beginning of XY - but a gap this long isn't unheard of. (And there is also the possibility that they might drop surprise special episodes on us... But without promotion from the Smash, it would be unlikely.)

.......... I found what was so strange with BW142's title, "オレの夢、ポケモンマスター!!" / "My Dream, Pokémon Master!!". That "Ore no yume" - if I'm not mistaken, this is the first time we have the ore in a title, clearly showing Satoshi as its narrator. Usually, it's a third-person point of view, or sometimes an ambiguous formulation: EP001 had "Getto daze!", EP003 and EP105 had "Kimi ni kimeta", DP033 had "Suki desu" in their titles and those were (I think?) the only times we had such deictic-sounding marks (technically open, but contextually referencing to a situation of enunciation). However, here, ore is definitely Satoshi directly referring to himself. It... seems oddly personal and intimate ;___;

BW001 - "To the Isshu Region! Zekrom's Shadow!!" BW122 - "Reshiram VS N! Beyond Truth and Ideals!!" BW142 - "My Dream, Pokémon Master!!" - If I'm not wrong, BW001 and BW122 were the only times Zekrom and Reshiram were mentioned in a title: the episode Satoshi came to Isshu alone with Pikachu, and the episode ending his adventures in the region together with Iris, Dent and N (next episode, he departed for Kanto through the Decolora archipelago). - Zekrom is listed for BW142 so if he's not a flashback or a figment of imagination... yes, they want to give us a feeling of closure: first and last episodes of Best Wishes! would be Zekrom's only physical apparitions in the anime (not counting flashbacks, dreams or papAraragi telling the legend). Plus, BW123 - "Farewell, Isshu! Setting Sail Once Again!!", which begins the Decolora arc, had Satoshi dreaming about Zekrom and Reshiram; only to apparently see Zekrom at the end. So, yes. Small meta book ends everywhere.

what if they used kokoro no fanfare as an insert song for best wishes finale :>

... Or "Nanairo Āchi" - because it was made to feel like a link between BW and older series (AG and DP) with the singers joining side, and we are precisely going back to the roots to leave again for a new series ;___; Also, rainbows are traditionally a symbol for communication or crossing the distance, so.... ;___;

feranelia said: What the heck is Brock doing there and does he still not have new clothes?? :O

Laaaaaate but just in case: a preview after this week's episode showed us a trailer for the XY anime, yes, but also a mini-preview of a few Best Wishes! episodes scheduled end of September >:3 Takeshi is announced for 9/26, we only saw him with Dent so far, so we're not actually sure Satoshi and Iris will still be around at that moment (we saw Iris fighting a shiny Crimgan (assumedly Ibuki's, the one she recently captured), we saw Dent fleeing an angry Gyarados, we saw Satoshi looking at Dent and Iris on the boat + trying to reach their image in the sun before closing his hand on them). Though what we do know is that the 9/19 episode's title implies a separation ("Best Wishes! Until the Day We Meet Again!!") and we know their boat is headed for Kuchiba/Vermilion City. Sssssso Takeshi could be waiting for them there, or they could indeed part ways at that moment and Dent would randomly stumble into Takeshi while Iris would be going to Fusube/Blackthorn City to challenge Ibuki, we don't know yet! ((I've been pretty convinced that if Takeshi showed up in Kanto at the end of BW!, we would not see him in his HGSS clothes...... since the moment we saw Pocket Monsters: The Origin's Takeshi wearing them in the trailer this weekend :"D)
