Ash: Do you ever take pics of yourself?
Trip: …No, why would I do that?
Ash: Then let me take one! Here, put this on.
Trip: W-what?? Why??
Ash: IDK I think it suits you lol.

Rejected.
THIS SCENE
"W-We still need to get the Pokemon outta that cage."
Shootie grits his teeth behind tightly sealed lips and resists the urge to tell Satoshi to shut up. He has to avert his eyes. Satoshi’s pure-hearted, single-minded resolve hurt just to listen to, he couldn’t stand looking him in the eye like that. But he manages a short, stiff nod in reply. When he raises his head again, a steely look in his eyes that says he’ll take care of it.
lambishwolf Moment when Satoshi still insists that the bby Pokemon come first even though he just got shot. :’)
You know what I thought of today?? AU where Trip can see ghosts!
STILL ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE AUS EVER AHHHH…like imagine if he used his camera to try and capture what he’s seeing!?!? So some of his images have like….these shapes and blurrs that are actually of ghosts!? Or or he could solve the case of that Strange House in Unova with the girl!!! Or maybe even…
Ash: Ahh yeah…I don’t really know what having a father is like, I never even met mine.
Trip: Well, I’m certain he’d be proud of you.
I’ve noticed a misconception in the fandom is that Kanto is often seen as being the equivalent to country sides or nowhereville. I think this happened because in the English dub, Trip refers to Kanto as being “the boonies”. However, I just want to point something out:
Trip isn’t talking about the Kanto region as a whole when he says “hick town”, he’s refering to Pallet Town—which is very often seen as being the nowhereville of the Kanto region.
It’s plain to see in compairing Pallet Town to Saffron City (both being in the same region):
A big plot point in Ash’s character that he’s a boy from nowhere. Pallet Town is so small that it only has one restaurant (according to the novelization). The most significant landmark is Professor Oak’s laboratory—which is most likely how Trip even knows where Pallet Town is (he seems to be very well versed in pokemon based knowledge).
However, the Kanto region itself is the total opposite of being “the country”. Keep in mind that the Kanto region is based off of the real Kantō region in Japan—which is one of Japan’s strongest and most advanced innovation points in technology and education. It’s incredibly developed, urbanized and industrial. Saffron and Celedon Cities are actually both based around Tokyo, Japan—commercially and financially. And well, we all know that Tokyo is basically the center point of Japanese innovation.
In the pokemon world, Kanto is seen as being modern and technological. It created things such as the pokeball and pokedex—and is one of the leading regions in pokemon research (Professor Oak constantly being praised by all other professors we see in the series). It’s also important to note that Kanto is the one region to have very little pokemon mythology. They seem to be heavy followers of science (with pokemon such as Porygon, Ditto and Mewtwo). It’s also noted that the people from the Kanto region are considered to be “sophisticated, reserved and formal”.
So while Ash might be from “the boonies” or “the hicks”, the Kanto region itself isn’t the hicks. It’s Pallet Town in particular—which isn’t all too surprising.
In fact, it's a little more ambiguous than this! You're right, as far as I know, about everything regarding Kantō (from the Pokéworld) and Kantō (in Japan). However, regarding Shooti's stance, he is in reality alluding to the region as a whole - not only Masara Town. We saw this in BW010 and BW022:
The "hick town" in the subs is misleading; strictly speaking, Shooti didn't use "town" (but "rural region", "country region", "hick place"). In BW001, his formulation was "zuibun tooi inaka" ("pretty far in the countryside"): at that moment, indeed, it could leave a doubt about what he was talking about (Kanto or Masara Town). But he later explicitly qualifies Kanto as being "inaka" ("a rural area like Kanto") Given his faces, however, I would say he really didn't mean it agressively but was making a bad joke? (I live near a big capital and I know I also tend to take the character of the smug urbanite a lot - although not with strangers. At least, Shooti saying it with a smile in BW010 looked more a (bad) joke to me :x)
「I hate you, but you keep loving me」
Shooti: I hate you.
When I see you, I get irritated
Shooti: I hate you…
Satoshi: Oh…
Satoshi: Then, even if I see you, I won’t call out to you.
I’ll make sure I don’t come too close to you
Shooti: It’s not that!
I’m not saying that!!
Shooti: I…
Satoshi:…What a weird guy*. Alright, what should we do then?
「I hate you, but you keep loving me」
***Satoshi literally says “What a weird guy” , but he says this alot in the anime. He doesn’t mean Shooti’s weird, he’s just exasperated but he puts up with it because he loves him.

MadokAsh is a strong, independent magical girl who don’t need no faith
Is it just me, or is Roberto the only Pokémon photographer who is actually focusing on Pikachu when filming/taking pictures (where Satoshi is involved).
Ever since Ash started travelling, bathing just hasn’t been the same.
You can tell I don’t draw Trip too often.
