But. The main character of Pokemon is Satoshi and his partner is Pik*chu (or Pikachu)

Now back to the serious question of hair lengths…

Using SCIENCE we can estimate that in XY, his hair at its longest point, if de-poofed, would probably reach somewhere around his collar bone

so, his hair may not necessarily be any longer than in the example you’ve sited, but it is, at least, about AS long.

(of course, if you add in the variable from my headcanon that it sticks out like that due to being just that horribly matted and tangled, it could potentially be much longer if he ever let someone with a lot of time and patience to brush it all out neatly)
