one of my favorite parts of french speakers is when they’re just talking away in that french language doing their thing sounding all smooth with their liaisons and then all of a sudden they hit you with an english word and they pronounce it with the most foreigner-imitating-americans accent like that is such a moment
basically, if you’re speaking with other French people, you BETTER mispronounce these English words in exactly the right way otherwise no one will understand
(I suspect it’s the same reason american highbrow movie reviewers and such pronounce “Coup de Grâce” in a way I hear as “Cul de Gras” which is also A Moment)
