Reading about Israeli snipers targeting children in the head and chest and I have to clarify that at this stage, you simply cannot say that Israel is "arbitrarily" killing children in Gaza. I think this wording misses a huge point: Israel is deliberately killing children in Gaza, precisely because of the belief that these children are an inherent threat to Israel should they be allowed to grow up.

yeah maybe just avoid all food with chicken in it in the united states for a bit...just until they figure out all of who is in possession of the listeria chicken (also includes a lesser amount of beef and maybe other meat)

if you saw the chicken get slaughtered yourself, or you know for a fact that the food you are eating contains no ingredients from brucepac, then you should be safe from the brucepac recall. but this recall is millions of pounds larger than the boar's head recall that shut down delis across the country.

the origin of the ingredients in food are not listed on the package or on the websites of most institutions in the case of restaurants and industrial food type places. the united states government does not even have a complete list yet, apparently. whether or not food contains ingredients from brucepac is almost impossible for a consumer to know.

if you do call or email to ask, you want to ask, "where do you source your chicken/meat/etc?" or "do you source any meat or poultry ingredients from brucepac?" and go from there.

consumer brands that have at least one item involved in the recall (so far, the recall list is updating daily, consider this list incomplete):

trader joe's, good and gather, boston market, atkins, dole, marketside, red's, little salad bar, fresh express, HEB, whitsons culinary group, rao's, michael angelo's, el monterey, fusia, trader ming's, amazon fresh, meijer, giant eagle, kroger, signature select, taylor farms, raley's, michelina's, eat!, garden choice, jenny craig, great value, udi's, wegmans, 7-eleven, freshly made, a bunch of generic brands, ready meals, amazon kitchen, home chef, racetrack, save mart, bistro 28, and don pancho.

most of the recalled items are ready made foods like salads, chicken tikka masala, chicken and rice, chicken fajita, chicken piccata, chicken fried rice, pasta, pasta salads, chicken lo mein, chicken alfredo, meal kits, pasta bowls, quesadillas, burrito bowls, burritos, tacos, enchiladas, taquitos, wraps, and frozen dinners that you just heat up. refrigerated and frozen foods.

and this is in addition to a TON of bulk food that is in the freezers of restaurants and food industry type places, and ingredients that are used in generic ready made foods across the country.

the recall list is incomplete. all of the listeria meat has not been located, identified, or removed from circulation yet. although a hefty chunk of the recall involves salads that have gone bad by now, many of the recalled items have best by dates into 2025 and 2026.

FDA recall link (just a few of them are listed here)

While we continue to donate to personal evacuation funds, I think it is crucial to keep in mind that these individuals as well as millions more in Gaza are currently actively in need of basic necessities like food, water, shelter, and medical care. Keeping this in mind, and recognising that there is no way to know when the border crossing with Egypt will reopen, I think our attention should also be on raising funds for organisations currently on the ground who will have the widest impact on the lives of Palestinians who are still enduring the genocide in Gaza.

Below are some verified donation links of organisations that are currently providing assistance for the people in Gaza directly:

Food, water, and shelter

Taawon has launched a campaign to provide support in Gaza through food parcels, shopping vouchers, fresh produce, water bottles and shelter tents.

Watermelon Relief is a project initiated and implemented by a group of activists in Gaza, who work to provide aid to displaced families in Gaza through meals, support and activities.

World Food Programme (WFP) managed to provide assistance to more than 1 million people in Gaza in May by delivering food in shelters, makeshift camps and shops.

Life for Gaza is an initiative through which the Municipality of Gaza aims to provide basic necessities for the people of Gaza such as water projects, waste collection and the reconstruction of roads.

Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (APN) is working to plant farmlands in Gaza through their "Revive Gaza Farmlands" project, through which they had already started planting vegetables, fruits and leafy greens in Gaza.

Purchasing eSIMs is one of the only remaining ways to keep Gazans connected with the outside world, to get their stories out or even enable them to call for help after Israeli strikes.

The Sameer Project is a donation based aid initiative that provides tents, cash aid, diapers and formula for displaced families in Gaza.

Care For Gaza is an organisation that works to provide essential aid such as food packages and cash to deliver to displaced families in Gaza.

Palestine Children's Relief Fund, through their "Gaza Relief and Recovery" campaign, plan to provide essential medical supplies and treatments, as well as food and clean water.

The UNRWA has an Emergency Appeal for Gaza, where donations will provide families in Gaza with lifesaving food and water, winter kits and to repair UNRWA shelters.

Mutual Aid for the People of Gaza is a fundraiser managed by Mona in Gaza, who personally purchases and distributes basic supplies including food parcels to families in Gaza.

Help Gaza Children is another grassroots effort operating on the ground in Gaza to support families with food, water and clothing.

Medical care

Palestinian Red Crescent has been on the ground in Palestine since 1968 as part of the Red Cross & Crescent movement. They have had a continuous presence on the ground in Gaza as the main source of medical care and assistance.

Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP) provides medical supplies and supports healthcare services in Gaza.

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) provide medical and humanitarian aid in Palestine and have had their teams on the ground operating from MSF-supported health facilities across Gaza.

Gaza Wound Care is a medical team in a tent in Nuseirat, providing care to children and supporting pregnant women.

Children Not Numbers is an NGO dedicated to providing medical care for the children in Gaza including delivery of medical aid and medical evacuation for children.

ooh the way kageyama was able to shut down aoba johsai in set 2 bc he knew that when the chips were down, oikawa would throw to iwaizumi—and then in set 3 karasuno is shut down because oikawa knew that when it’s all on the line, kageyama would rely on hinata

i remember when i was doing a religious simpsons painting in my painting 1 class and the professor had been talking about trends that annoyed him, specifically people painting bart back when he taught in the 90′s. i took my painting off the easel and turned it around and my 50-some year old professor had to cope with seeing imagery of bart simpson as a cherub

The latest chapter of the manga has brought back the true meaning of "Blue Lock."

The stakes are higher and almost everyone is clawing out of their way to make it to the top.

It's a reminiscent of the first and second selection arcs where no one is spared. You like Kira? Too bad because he got eliminated first. Want to see Nagi and Reo teaming up in second selection? Not gonna happen anytime soon as Nagi was walking away with Isagi's team to their next match. Wanna see Naruhaya make it? Having a great backstory and reason to join the program doesn't make you have a plot armor to push through because you don't have enough talent and skill just like with the geniuses and prodigies out there.

And it's the same for Isagi too. He is not immune to any obstacles that he is facing today. It's already foreshadowed by Ego in the previous chapter.

This is going to happen sooner or later. Also, interesting note is that it's the second time that Isagi had misunderstood someone's true intentions in this match. It happened with Kiyora before when he thought that he was going to pass the ball to him and not with Kaiser. He looked genuinely surprised for a moment. And in the second moment of clarity, he now realized that Noa was using him too to tap and awakened Kaiser to his full potential.

Now how Isagi would react to all of this is the interesting part in the next chapter. I'm seeing theories circulating online that he *might* get a mental breakdown like with Ness, put him into a clearer perspective and made Noa realized that he won't be just a stepping stone for him by doing some crazy but amazing moves once again or him signing up for Dortmund after this match and play against BM in the future (this is the first team who has shown interest to him in this arc. And if I remembered correctly wasn't Dortmund his favorite team back then?)

It's not a farfetched idea for one of these things could happen. But then again, this is Blue Lock we're talking about. Some unpredictable things could be happening soon.

Also, I'm not really mad at Noa. It just showed and proved on why he was the current top one in the franchise. He's a real egoist. You don't just survived and make it to the top by being physically skilled on your own.

I also highly disagree with him not caring about Isagi. He took interest in Isagi because of out the Blue Lock players, he had shown potential the most and he was a proactive player. Isagi doesn't wait for things to be handed out to him. He seeks his opinion and advise on soccer related things.

To your perspective, this was a cold, calculating move from Noa. But in all honesty, Noa had just done what is logically for the best and this is how he could tap out both Isagi and Kaiser's potential and ego.

The author also might be showing that Isagi needs to stop seeing Noa as his idol and mentor.

But rather a rival as well in the same vein as Rin and Kaiser.

Because if you want to become the world's number 1 striker then you have to beat the current world's number 1 and that is Noel Noa himself.

The author cooked in this chapter and I couldn't be any more glad of it 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

here’s the link for the lebanese red cross ^^ any donation helps

if the .app URL makes you hesitant since it's a nonstandard top level domain, pressing the donate button there redirects to: https://donate.redcrossredcrescent.org/lb/supportLRC/~my-donation

redcrossredcrescent.org is one of the official domains used by the international federation of red cross and red crescent societies, and various red cross/red crescent organizations globally make use of the international federation's fundraising tool rather than hosting their own (a relatively recent example is the red cross in ukraine while they were responding to the impact of the russia conflict)

just wanted to let you know you can donate in confidence!

Take it from someone who has done progressive activism in real, not-just-online ways and also knows a ton of people for whom that's like, their job, and has also lived in red, purple and blue states (Texas, Michigan, Maryland, Massachusetts): activism is much, much harder to do in places where the law and the politicians are actively hostile to your politics. As such, it is not a replacement for voting. You have to vote. You shouldn't just vote, but you should vote and do the other things. This is why everyone who is actually serious about activism that actually does stuff is telling you to vote.

I get really frustrated by the argument on Tumblr of "voting is just one step, it's not the only thing you can do!" because I can never tell if that person is saying "your activist credentials aren't hurt by voting, you can still do all those other things!" - which is true! and good! and some people need to hear it! - or "it's just one of many types of activism that you can do, it's one option" - BAD. It is not. It is the foundational step. You can't really do all that other stuff, or can't do it as well and as effectively, if you don't have the infrastructure in place that you create by voting in the right people and voting out the wrong ones.

This is especially weird given that the Republican Party is increasingly flirting with the idea of violent retaliation against peaceful protesters - and that our history is replete with examples of that happening when they did it in places with hostile politicians, e.g. the civil rights movement in Southern states. Yeah, that imagery ultimately helped them, but it's not the 1960s anymore, we don't have three TV channels everyone watches, you can't guarantee that the people who most need to see it will, or without it being filtered through a bunch of bullshit demonizing the protesters. And a lot of people died or were otherwise hurt in the process, and their lives should matter to you. And a lot of how we ultimately defeated that was because the federal law forced Southern states to comply with all that. Because the people in the federal government making these decisions (like LBJ) were open to the cause of civil rights - which was one of the reasons that civil rights activists made voter registration so key to their efforts in 1964! It wasn't a thing that the activists in those states were able to force on racist, hostile politicians in places like Alabama without help from other people they voted for in the federal government.

There are lots of dedicated activists in Texas who want to help women there get abortions in every way they can; they still could only do so much once it was totally banned there, once Roe fell, and now their work is largely focused on helping Texas women travel out of state. The nationally-celebrated abortion clinic where I lived in Austin had to close and move to New Mexico after the Dobbs decision. Who is in power matters. The laws they pass matter. The way you do something about that? You fucking vote.

Likewise, a lot of this website and the broader left-wing Internet seems to acknowledge that trans rights are way worse in red states like Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, etc. than in blue states like on the West Coast or in New England/the Mid-Atlantic, or even in purple states with Dems in power (e.g. Michigan, Minnesota, Arizona, Pennsylvania). Same with reproductive rights. Okay, why do you think that is? Do you think the activists in Michigan or Massachusetts just care more than the ones in Montana? Or do you think it perhaps has something to do with who's passing laws? And why do you think this pattern holds so consistently in terms of whether that state is run by Democrats or Republicans??? In Michigan and Arizona in particular, they got where they are specifically because voters rejected extreme Republican policies en masse.

Voting comes before everything else. It is not just "one of many options." That's like saying that, say, showering is optional as long as you moisturize or something. Or brushing your teeth is optional. No, those are foundational things for cleanliness; the other stuff is on top of that. You need voting to make your activism work.

Here's another fundraiser I trust!

This is Abed Rahman El-Shaer. If you recognize the last name, it's because he's the older brother of my friend Mohammed El-Shaer who I also campaign for on my blog. Please do not hesitate to donate! This family has gone through so much.

Even while Rafah is closed, your funds help them afford basic needs for survival on a daily basis while they also get ready to leave when the time comes! Every dollar counts! Remember not to tip gfm when it asks you to, it will not replace the processing fees that they have to pay once they need to get the money transferred to their bank accounts!

Reblogging this again because Abdel Rahman hasn't received many funds in a while! They need all the help they can get ♡
