You are neither of them. You are Mystra. You need to be Mystra. Goddess of magic, Goddess of the Weave, Lady of Mysteries. You remember the birth of existence, and all the ages of all the worlds that came thereafter. You know what it is to hold the very threads of such existence in your hands, and shape them to your will. You are the greatest there has ever been, powerful enough to impose upon the reign of Ao himself, vast enough to shape all realities and all spaces. You know that Ao fears you, fears what you might be possible of should you ever seek your truest self and command the powers of reality to bend to your will instead of his. He should fear you. You are everything. But you still want to be the girl named Midnight.
A little experimental piece that I wrote as a submission for the BG3 Women's Wrongs zine. Unfortunately I was not lucky enough to be selected for the zine, but I was proud enough of the piece that I wanted to post it regardless. I'm terribly intrigued by Mystra, and the nature of godhood in general in the Forgotten Realms.
