US 2017 Captain Hook (Peter Pan)
does anyone hear me out on him?
hnnnngh. my silly guy
Here's my new Captain Hook art! Took me a good two days to finish but I think it was worth it... I don't know I could have rendered it a bit better 😅 Also his hat is too hard to draw lol.
Anyway enjoy! I have two more versions of this drawing but I prefer this one 💗
Blushing or just drunk Hook. Either way, I love it.
Look at this still a friend got from this Disney instagram post
been hyperfixating on this man lately...
Such a gentleman…. Mostly
Captain Hook's life in a nutshell.
I found an image of Captain Hook as an archer while exploring the early concept art for Epic Mickey.
I've imagined Captain Hook being able to use a bow and arrow before, but seeing it like this, I'm not sure if it suits him or not. It kind of does and kind of doesn't. Hmm...
Okay, this is pretty cool. But why is the claw on the right hand?
They have been making that mistake since the first Peter Pan movie.
I'll be waiting for you all here
💗
Just finished reading H.G. Parry’s Heartless and OH MY GOODNESS. If you haven’t read it, GO READ IT RIGHT NOW. I think it’s safe to say now that it is officially in my top three favorite Peter Pan book retellings…maybe even my favorite…which is saying something. The absolute tragedy of both Peter and Hook presented in it is SO heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. Neither is made out to be a true villain; rather, they are both deeply broken people who end up in a sort of hell of their own making. It’s a story about love and loss and friendship. It’s a story about death and life and growing up. About seeing the beauty even through the pain and how the power of stories can change the course of our lives. It’s about how fear can cause us to block out everything else—even the good in life—and sometimes cause us to inadvertently hurt those around us in our immaturity. It’s about forgiveness and hope for future generations even if your own story is ending. It’s about the selflessness required to be the adult in a situation, even if it makes you look like the villain. It’s just… SO. GOOD. It’ll probably make you cry but the ending isn’t one totally without hope or happiness. It’s…bittersweet and PERFECT. I think Barrie would approve.
Me just after reading that post alone:
Hope they get this guy in Toy Story 5
He looks like a prop for a horror movie.
Love writing Hook as wanting a healthy relationship but he has no fucking clue how to get one to the point he ends up unintentionally fucking up every romance he's ever had or dating worse people.
I could generously say he's too "career focused" but if I'm being honest, he's just too busy trying to get revenge on Peter to think about maintaining a romance and I think he's got tunnel vision. This is also why I write him as being asked out by somebody else most of the time or a just happening to get into fucked up situation-ship.
I doubt he's bringing up fighting an eleven year old on a date too, that shits embarrassing. He would definitely lie by omission to any nice person he's dating if not just straight up lie.
Latest addition to the rear windshield of my truck... it's about full now. 😁😁😁
J.M. Barrie hit the nail on the head with this one....
