Hi, I stopped working on this blog when I was about 17 years old living in Ukraine. I graduated with my bachelor's at 20, turned 21 in August, and now live in New York City working in consulting. Dreams are possible and happiness is always in the future if you're patient enough :) I hope everyone is doing well. I don't use Tumble anymore but best wishes <3
hi, presley! have you read my dear hamilton yet? what were your thoughts if you did?
Here you go, I made a video for you. Sorry it’s long, but I got all my thoughts out :) If anyone watches I would be really happy if you subscribed, I need 1000 followers to be monetized
A long time ago I wrote a 100K piece called The Universe Carved Us From Marble which was a detailed piece of historical fiction about Nathan Hale and Benjamin Tallmadge’s respective childhoods.
While I stopped publishing it on Ao3, the piece has been completed for quite some time. The only issue is I wrote it when I was 14-15 years old. While the writing is good, as a writer I feel as though that wasn’t my peak (I recently turned 19). The pieces I write today are of the same deeply metaphorical, analytical and poetic style. However, I feel as though age and practice (as expected) greatly refined my abilities.
A combination of gifted-child burn out, age, trauma etc also made me unmotivated to do other long projects such as TUCUSFM and another 100K project I did that was not history related. I had always intended that if TUCUSFM got long enough (which it did) I would love to find a way to publish it as a book. TUCUSFM was never supposed to be just a book about BT and NH’s childhoods. After detailing childhoods for context about their characters, the piece was meant to expand towards their college days, the war, Nathan’s death and so forth. It was meant to be a long, detailed retelling of the relationship between these two men in a historical fiction style.
Anyways... this post is long way of telling you guys that I am planning on continuing TUCUSFM, writing what I originally intended albeit I have a different plan going forward that I think is between suited for a novel.
The new and improved TUCUSFM will not start at their childhoods but will start at Nathan and Ben’s arrival at Yale. The long childhood memories I wrote will not be in one big block but instead inter-spliced between what modern day in the book is. Modern day being the start of Yale. Instead of chapters having both Nathan and Ben’s lives contrasted with one another, each chapter will switch between third person perspectives. One chapter from Nathan, one from Ben, one from Nathan, one from Ben... etc. As I said before, the novel will go from Yale, through the war, Nathan’s death and ultimately Ben’s life following these events.
Going forth this is my plan and seeing as I lost a lot of my research having to move so many times, I will have to get started compiling all my files once more. Also seeing as just their childhoods took 100K words... you can expect this is gonna fall into 200K+ territory...
Remember when I was a bright shiny kid typing out essays on this blog hour by hour from age 13-16? Well that gifted kid now has burn out in college <3
Nikita Mazepin: the Russian Oligarchy’s Infiltration of F1
I suppose it’s my turn to speak on the Nikita to Haas situation. In my years involved with F1 I’ve never been so disgusted by a choice of driver. There have already been numerous posts about his violence, obvious disregard for women and rich-boy mentality. While all these are horrendous, I want to speak on something that enrages most of all. Please reblog.
David Walker was a such a salty icon. This man wrote an entire pamphlet in 1829 calling for slaves to rise up against their oppressors and had the nerve to include a line like this:
“--Here let me ask Mr. Jefferson, (but he is gone to answer at the bar of God, for the deeds done in his body while living,) I therefore ask the whole American people, had I not rather die, or be put to death, than to be a slave to any tyrant, who takes not only my own, but my wife and children's lives by the inches?”
There really is no greater love story than Jefferson and Adams frolicking in France, having a falling out, rekindling their spark in their final decades of life and then dying on the same day with each other’s names in their mouths.
This election is going to be so close. It’s looking like it’ll finish ~270 for Biden, ~268 for Trump. Pray.
The most frightening thing to me is what Trump is going to do in an effort to stay in office if Biden wins.
Trump is like a toxic ex who just won’t let Wisconsin move on.
Biden has more votes than any other political candidate in US history. Incredible.
a thought on someone
I’m reading Lolita for the first time and... wow... do I have thoughts.
Lolita (1997) has such an extraordinary score.
Ain’t it a funny thing that I started this when I was thirteen and today I turn eighteen. Crazy, the time.
To be honest, I lost my mojo for this blog about two years ago. Sorry for the 500 asks in my box, I appreciate you all. Honestly it’s a lack of the motivation I previous had and the stress of all those asks staring me in the face. If ya’ll have pressing questions, message me privately! Occasionally I’ll be on to post when I feel like it. I still post fics, my ao3 is fearless_seas. My main on here is @fearless-seas and the other blog I put all my effort into is @pierregasly. Thanks for following me from starting this blog in 8th grade all the way to just graduating a few months ago. I appreciate all the love and support as well as the inquiries. My messages are always open, and as I said, I’ll be around to post stuff sometimes. Cheers!
Hey! My school got shut down because of coronavirus so I am going to have lots of extra time on my hands...
