She stood there with her family for a quiet moment, before pulling back. “Little Amelia needs to go back to bed now. She woke up for her middle-of-the-night meal, but it’s time to go back to bed.” She looked up at him for a moment, then asked “Do you want to put her in her cot?” And she gestured to the cot beside the opposite wall of the small nursery.

“Yes, of course. C’mon, Amelia, let’s get you to bed, eh? Nice soft bed, and if you’re really, really good, I’ll read you a story next time, yeah?” He kissed the top of her head and moved to place her carefully in the cot, tucking her in and watching her for a few moments. “Sleep tight,” he whispered, then wandered quietly for the corridor. He was still stunned; lost for words. After a while he managed to find something to whisper to River when she joined him. “I wish I could have been here for you. Are you - are you alright? Do you have everything you need?”

River stood in the doorway, arms folded over her chest as she watched her husband with their daughter. She knew about his past, knew that he’d been a father before, so it shouldn’t have been quite so surprising to see how gentle and sweet he was with little Amelia. When he joined her in the corridor, she reached for his hand. “We’ve been alright,” she whispered. “One of my colleagues...she helped me a lot, still does.” She gave him a gentle smile. “Only thing I wished we could have had besides you was your old cot. Would have been nice for her to use the same cot her mum and dad slept in.”

Intruder//Closed

“Great, so now I can actually get my ride stolen and I accept being called Time Lord or Lady or just Gallifreyan, whatever tickles your fancy as long as it doesn’t involve me dying. So, they’re more survivors, th-that’s just fine and dandy. Are you a time lady too?”

“No. Well…sort of…” She shook her head. “I was conceived in a TARDIS that was flying through the Time Vortex. I’ve regenerated, I’ve got two hearts, but my parents were both human. It’s…I don’t even understand it fully.” Her hand finally moved away from her gun. “But I’m not going to steal your TARDIS and I’m not going to kill you. Unless you provoke me.”

“It sounds like your parents slept in the wrong bedroom.” She murmured before saying “So, where exactly am I?”

“My cottage on Luna University’s campus. 52nd Century, since I know how easy it is to lose track of the date as well. Sorry for almost shooting you, but I can’t be too careful.” She folded her arms over her chest. “How did you end up here?”

He wavered a time bit before shaking his head. “No, absolutely not. No babies. You and I have made a lot of enemies. It’s not practical or safe. Not to mention, I don’t do babies.”

She huffed, pouting her lips. “You’re no fun at all. Just once....” she whispered, pressing herself close to him and moving her hands to push his jacket down his arms. “Just this once, please...please, Alpha...”

Two Queens//Closed

Rose was saddling her horse when River finally arrived, turning when she heard footsteps. She offered River a polite smile before addressing her her.

“We were just finishing, we’re ready to leave now.” She climbed onto the horse, holding her hand out for River. Shaya and Rein mounted a second horse, leaving the third for River’s guard.

“You can ride with me. Shaya and Rein will take the rear to make sure your guard does not get himself lost when we cross the hills. The horses know where they’re going and as long as he doesn’t do something stupid, he shouldn’t have to worry about falling off.” She glanced at the captain.

“You have ridden before, correct?”

She couldn’t help smirking a little as she answered “Of course I’ve ridden before.” There was a playful tone as she mounted, settling herself in behind Rose and putting her hands on the woman’s hips. She smiled, mostly to herself, as Peter pulled himself up onto the fourth horse. “Once he was ready, he nodded, and River turned back to look at Rose. “Ready.”

“Good. And I put that lipstick away so there wouldn’t be anymore accidents. The captain didn’t seem too happy when he found out I had it.”

“Aaah yeah… The captain’s got kind of a history with that stuff. You should ask him about it. He loves telling that story…”

“Now that sounds like one hell of a good story if it’s left that big an impression on him.” She grinned, making herself more comfortable. 

Rose grinned, hugging her tight. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” She giggled, giving her a kiss. Jack got excited as well, barking and licking River’s face.

She smiled and gave Jack an affectionate pat on the head, hugging Rose. “No more ganging up on me with puppy eyes.”

She laughed, hugging her back. “Aw, fine. I won’t.” She stuck her tongue out at River before kissing her cheek.

River smiled and kissed Rose back before settling in to bed, closing her eyes to sleep. She could feel the pup shifting in bed, attempting to get comfortable. Or closer to them. She wasn’t quite sure. But, as usual, it didn’t take long for her to drift off to sleep.

Unfortunately, it was a bad night for her. She had them sometimes. Nightmares about a past, a childhood that she could hardly remember. She whimpered, tossed, turned, even began to cry out in her sleep. She could feel something warm and wet on her face and that jolted her awake.

She nodded, finding a blanket and laying it over her. “You’re my omega, it’s my job to take care of you.” Rose insisted.

She held the blanket, shivering and moving closer in an attempt to snuggle up to Rose. “I don’t know how I got sick…” she mumbled.

Midnight || OPEN

The day had finally passed. 24 hours were up. Now, the moon hung high in the sky, the crescent larger than the previous night.

The moment River realized that 24 hours had passed, she moved to the bed where Lanya lay, looking at the vampire for a moment before pulling the stake from her chest. She did it quickly, like pulling off a band-aid.

The vampire went limp. Her eyes were half- closed, head falling to one side. She had fallen unconscious.

River kept her hand on Lanya’s arm, kneeling beside the bed to watch her. She bit her lip anxiously, wondering why the Mistress had wanted her to do this, and wondering if she would recover.
