they are BICKERING

nope, Grim is just being very stubborn. she has decided to rest her leg in that exact spot, and will not take no for an answer. and Pangur responds every time by biting it because she doesn’t want a foot in her face. they are lazy and neither wants to move from the warm bed, so as a result they are caught in an endless feedback loop of mildly annoying each another. it’s harmless and also deeply stupid

The next time you've got a friend over, set an example and put your phone on the table, visibly there but not too far away, to let them know that you're intentionally present, not distracted, your attention is undivided and you want to be fully focused on being right there to spend time with them. Don't mention it or draw attention to this, you're not doing this to be preachy or wanting praise, you just want to be a good friend and you value your friend's time. Ideally, your friend will either notice this or even pick it up without conscious notice, and set their own phone aside on the table as well.

Then, when your friend takes a minute to go to the bathroom, grab your phone and take a photo of your friend's phone sitting on your table. Do not touch it, and put your own phone back exactly where it was immediately once you've got the picture. Carry on with whatever you two were doing.

Once your time is up and your friend has left for home, wait for a good 15 minutes or so, for them to either get back home or be well on their way there. Text your friend, "hey, you forgot your phone", and send them the photo you took of their phone on your table. Set a stopwatch running from the moment your friend sees the message.

Measure how many seconds it takes for your friend to process this and tell you to go fuck yourself.

yeah, people do lie on the internet, however i am so passionate about things that if i lie it will feel like i committed an autistic sin

if i just accidentally say something wrong i panic tbh catch me putting "to my knowledge" and "from what i remember" disclaimers on everything to account for human error

From what I remember, 1 + 1 = 2. I think. Not an expert though, feel free to fact check me! This is just an educated guess.

you are very based i don't usually read long ass essays in tumblr replies cause people on here tend to be dumb as fuck and simply throw around buzzwords to somehow make their points seem actually valid but i did very much enjoy reading your argument with that person under the micro-label discourse post, i really don't get how they still cannot grasp that they're simply wrong. probably not worth wasting time on people like that. But yeah idk why i even wrote all of this just thought you were cool teehee. have a good day <3

WAUAUGH THIS IS ANOTHER ONE THATS BEEN HERE A WHILE BUT THANK U!!!! this anon has lived in my head rent free for ages

i try to be thorough and find i have a knack for it, and ive changed a lot of folks' outlooks for the better, but... well. social media isnt always the greatest platform for it. so i really appreciate folks who enjoy the way that i can articulate concepts!!!

how would you say you feel about people with disorders relating to executive function (particularly ADHD) using the word dissociation? I’m pretty sure the more accurate way to describe what we experience is depersonalization, but most people with ADHD have taken to using dissociation, which isn’t inaccurate, but I want to know if it’s worth correcting people or if it’s better to just let it be. sorry for my run on sentence, that’s just the only way it made sense in my head.

this is SUCH an incredibly old ask but

dissociation is not exclusive to DID and OSDD! dissociation is merely a symptom, and derealization and depersonalization are specific forms of that symptom. folks of all brains experience dissociation, including folks who arent even mentally ill! DID and OSDD are dissociative disorders, or conditions wherein a person dissociates so often that it has become disordered functioning. Generally, anything that is followed by "disorder" in the DSM is a disorder characterized by a specific symptom that is not exclusive to the disorder itself, but instead has become so unmanaged and oppositional to the individual's health that it has become disordered. just like anyone can have attention deficits, anyone can be obsessive, anyone can be depressed for temporary periods, and anyone can feel anxious, anyone can also dissociate!

tl;dr, let it be. folks with ADHD and autism do dissociate frequently as it's a response to stress and specifically over/understimulation. it's simply a symptom, and anyone can experience it. systems merely experience a disordered form of dissociation as relates to identity.

What's the most useful thing you learned while you were living abroad?

90% of people will stop thinking about you after you leave their field of vision.

9% will after 20 minutes.

0.9% will after 48 hours.

so like. if youre sweaty and disheveled and someone sees you and you feel uncomfortable. like. its fine. if they saw you again tomorrow there is a near guarantee they would not remember you at all.

this is unless of course you do something that shakes them to their core. I am looking directly at the random man in 2017 who was passing through my college commons going “squaa” every 2 seconds, and when my friend leaned over to whisper “squaa” to me, he stopped dead, whipped his head around to face us, screamed “SQUAAH” and then did a fucking dead sprint out the far door. You will be forgotten unless you’re consciously and deliberately a fucking cryptid. which is a valid path to take. you will probably become an urban legend in group chats if that’s the legacy you feel like leaving.

I think the most humiliating object in the world is the Fleshlight sleeve warmer

Its only purpose is to slide into your fleshlight and get it to body temp. It's $30. I want to get every single man who owns one of these into one room and make them do long-form improv

Jail!

Different Jail!
