the context of that Char panel is that he went out of his way, on his own initiative, without orders, to pick a fight w/ Amuro and try to kill him and then, in the following series of events:

1.) lost

2.) got his expansive mobile suit's head cut off and destroyed

3.) fell off the top of a mountain

4.) all of which accomplished nothing in terms of military goals

to which one of his unfortunate subordinates is like: "sir.... okay, you're kinda obsessed w/ this one mobile suit i get it......... but please please please don't do extremely reckless things and take risks right before we are about to have a major battle please sir."

Char: "from the bottom of my heart, i want you to know everything you just said went in one ear and out the other. shut up."
