hey star wars fans. remember the collective ~1 year long fever dream that was dinluke. and then bobf/mandalorian season three came out and everyone decided collectively that it wasn’t cool anymore for like a myriad of reasons

that was a lot of fun to watch! some very good fanworks came out of that period of time. i’ve got some theories about exactly why it took off so hard (not many reoccurring characters in mando, luke being a notable but not paired off heavily character, general interesting interactions of their respective space religious ideas and their own opinions on them) but mostly i’m fascinated by the fact that it went so hard for such a short period of time and now that subset of the fandom is just like, dead. pretty neat

I love it in Dinluke fics and art when Din is brought into Luke’s friends/family group, but what I love the most is Luke fitting into Din’s group. Like Cara going crazy over how her friend is dating THEE Luke Skywalker. That awkward reintroduction with Boba at the palace, then to bond on their mutual respect for Din and come to an understanding. Peli telling Din that he better not hurt little ‘wormie’ Skywalker or she’ll cut the air brakes in his ship. Din being really glad he wears a helmet when Cobb tells him he’s ‘got it real bad’ for the ‘hot blonde’. Bo-Katan being snooty because “of course you just had to go and fall for a Skywalker!” But Luke continuing to be civil with Bo and holding his own against her, in which she reluctantly grows a respect for him.

I don't know if it was intentional, but I find it REALLY cool how Luke in this art style almost looks like he's in Tartakovsky's Clone Wars. The little lines on and around his nose remind me of Anakin in Tartakovsky's style so much

I think I can see some resemblance. Alas, my art style doesn't draw from Tartakovsky's Clone Wars (I haven't watched it yet!). I'm usually inspired by the various art styles of Marvel Star Wars comics, and when I look for Luke refs specifically, I tend to pull up Luke art by Stuart Immonen.
