Inktober Day 11: the piece I drew but didn’t care enough for back on Day 6 was of Chris Samnee’s great new redesign of Black Widow. So i decided to give it another crack tonight. And after making my initial sketch, I checked his released model shot for the uniform details and realized I essentially and unintentionally drew his same pose. So, uh, this is an homage? Non-compliant black widow in space. on my arm.  The backdrop will be a paler grey shadow once healed, and the oranges should pop even better, but this was just done yesterday so we’re still in swollen / initial scab mode  (any unevenness is that, as the artist - davefnschultz on instagram - did it like spot on it is spooky how exact to the comic it is).

Reasons for this as my new art being :

  1. primarily that this comic scene from the recent Secret Avengers run by @aleskot @misterwalsh has become a reminder used by myself and my drift compatible partner to always kick ass so why not have that permanent - especially given she’s talking to Jessica and that’s my name too.
  2. the coolest project I have EVER run was a project where I got to work with & share data with @colchrishadfield (even though sadly I never got to meet him) & I am proud of my work so great example so wanted something space related, and 
  3. I am a tattooed loud girl geek who works in IT, I’ve been non-compliant for a long time, I just didn’t have a proper symbol for it until @kellysue and bitch planet.

I am probably too amused by the fact that one of my smaller moles is now a Natasha face beauty mark too.
