some magicas to bless your day
One day with the De Spell's.
📚🐣
Been busy in a while. Havent got the chance to make a fan art of DT's last episodes.
"I'm sorry, my dear"
I love them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I see some people complaining that Scrooge letting Poe fly away while Magica begged him to help and then taking advantage of the transformed villagers to make money off of them was unnecessarily cruel and messed up but I think you're forgetting: Scrooge went through his character development in DuckTales. The whole point is that he used to be selfish, arrogant and even cruel when the show started and he learned important lessons through his adventures with his family. Hell, the point of the episode was that Scrooge takes responsibility for his mistakes and is revealed to be less of a perfect hero than he claims.
It's also a good nod to the real life fact that you can't become the richest person in the world without exploiting someone somewhere along the way and even Scrooge's "I made my money fair and square" shtick isn't much more than that- a shtick.
This was the exact energy this scene had
Magica and Poe De Spell in The Life and Crimes of Scrooge McDuck!
This scene. Just... this scene.
(From DuckTales 2017 - S3E21 “The Life and Crimes of Scrooge McDuck!”)
“We’ll see who’s a raven now!”
Magica: Aw, twenty dollars? I wanted a peanut.
Poe: Twenty dollars can buy many peanuts.
Magica: Explain how!
Poe: Money can be exchanged for goods and services.
DuckTales Chibi Tiny Tales - Dime and Dash
My favorite part of today’s episode would have to be how Scrooge did indeed fuel Magica’s vendetta for revenge against him. This wasn’t apart of some underhanded evil plan to enact a sneaky way of making Scrooge lose everything in a mystical court of law. Magica cared a lot for her brother, Poe. It goes to show Scrooge had become very content with the life was leading in creating arch rivals as a highly successful adventurer and business man. Enough so he ignored her pleas to help catch and fix Poe. Sure, she was already a hammy villain before he lit that fuse, but if he had showed some compassion to get her brother back, Magica at the very least wouldn’t have been so Hell bent on attacking his own family years later. In that way, it puts a different perspective on Season 1′s events surrounding Magica’s scheming for revenge. Magica wasn’t just doing it for the sake of villainy. Magica wanted Scrooge to feel the same immeasurable loss she felt never being able to find Poe and return him to normal.
Funny thing is, Scrooge did feel that kind of pain and suffering already. The loss of Della back in Season 1. Ironic Magica tried to make him feel so much pain when he’d already been dealt a serious traumatic blow to his emotional state. One that put in him a depressed mindset for years, until the triplets met him.
Only 52 seconds of them in the preview, but Magica and Poe's dynamic reminds me of a family friendly version of Hänsel and Gretel from Black Lagoon. They are very comfortable with each other and hold hands too much.
