Important details.

While the last episode of Arrow has been analyzed and reviewed multiple times, I didn’t see anyone point out this small, yet very crucial moment. It’s right after Oliver told Felicity he’s going to face Ra’s Al Ghul again in order to get Merlyn back. Again, I didn’t see anyone point out how Diggle wasn’t the only one who knew right away that Oliver wasn’t doing it just for Thea; Felicity knew, too.  Felicity: I understood facing Ra’s when you were doing it for Thea, but— Oliver: I am doing it for Thea.  Felicity gave him then a long look. I couldn’t help but notice how she started off worried. She wasn’t yelling, she wasn’t glaring at him…she expressed her worry that he’s going to die out there, die for a reason beyond his sister. Once Oliver cut that off, that’s when her voice raised. (O: “I don’t plan on dying.” F: “That’s what you said last time you went off to face Ra’s and look how that turned out for you?!”) She knew it in her bones that she was right. That knowledge, along with her worry about him, caused her to use her loud voice at him. But the thing is…that anger is not the last thing we saw from her as a reaction to Oliver’s decision.
Leaving last from the room when Diggle asked for some privacy with Oliver, Felicity went to Ray pissed at Oliver and claiming that “he has his head so far up his colon” that he’s —literally— going to get himself killed. She was mad at him, not because she didn’t understood him; because she understood him better than he understood himself, the exact same way Diggle did. Except, Felicity hasn’t lived her life as a soldier. No, she’s just the person who sees right through Oliver better than anyone. For those of you who felt like missing something…this is it. Captured in the gifs above. While Felicity was at Ray’s, some said she seemed to forget all about Oliver. Look at that moment, and claim that again. There is no force on this universe that will ever convince me that Felicity wasn’t looking outside the window, her eyes filled with tears to the point I doubt she could even see clearly, because she was thinking of Oliver. He never left her mind, not a single moment.

Say what you will about Regina, but she’s a fabulous leader. She keeps a cool head, makes tough decisions, and most important, is actually doing something. All of her years as Queen and Mayor paid off.

Dear Arrow EPs and writers, We all know that you didn’t expect the love for a Felicity Smoak, and much less how she just “fits” with an Oliver Queen, when you first wrote and produced her character the way you did (or at least allowed to)… Like someone who has good sense said, we too would like to see what you’ve laid down “pay off”. And not in a nonsense-it’s-just-because-comic-has-to-happen manner. If it’s gonna go comic, then make in a way that fits with past, present and a sensible future.
