ngl it does fascinate me on a level that people love lancelot and gwen over arthur and gwen. i think it says a lot about how people want to instantly fall in love because that’s what happened with them. they fell in love instantly and then lancelot left and the feelings still stayed but lancelot left because he saw competition. he didn’t even fully get confirmation that gwen liked arthur he just knew that arthur liked gwen and backed off immediately. meanwhile arthur and gwen are very much a growing relationship. yes sure when they start up it does feel sudden but they become to know and understand one another. they admire each other for their qualities but can also lighten/make fun of their flaws in a blunt way. it’s really cute to observe anyway they have YEARS to develop their dynamic as a whole with one another. they have years even outside of what we see meanwhile gwen and lancelot’s relationship is very much an immediate thing

Didn't include Arthur or Lancelot because we see them react in cannon.

(also seriously i saw someone say that they think elyan because his father died "because of magic" but this is just not true - his father died because of uther's oppression of magic users and those associated with them. so if anything, you'd think tom's death would make elyan more sympathetic to oppressed magic users)

Alator shows his devotion to Emrys.

I love this scene. People who are willing to give up their lives for Merlin. It’s always Arthur who gets that special treatment. It goes to show that he’s not alone in that world and there are people who are loyal to him and they worship him.

This scene alone, without a doubt, speaks volumes of how powerful and great he truly is. And how his work to restore magic to Albion is appreciated. I love it.

Exactly. The druids respects Merlin a lot, but it’s not in their nature to bow down to someone.
