Robert Graves later fitted her into his concept of the Threefold Goddess, in which she was interpreted as a form of the destructive side of the goddess. (x)

ngl it does fascinate me on a level that people love lancelot and gwen over arthur and gwen. i think it says a lot about how people want to instantly fall in love because that’s what happened with them. they fell in love instantly and then lancelot left and the feelings still stayed but lancelot left because he saw competition. he didn’t even fully get confirmation that gwen liked arthur he just knew that arthur liked gwen and backed off immediately. meanwhile arthur and gwen are very much a growing relationship. yes sure when they start up it does feel sudden but they become to know and understand one another. they admire each other for their qualities but can also lighten/make fun of their flaws in a blunt way. it’s really cute to observe anyway they have YEARS to develop their dynamic as a whole with one another. they have years even outside of what we see meanwhile gwen and lancelot’s relationship is very much an immediate thing

#reason they prefer gwencelot over argwen even though gwencelot very blatantly and deliberately has far less build-up ????

#gwencelot is more like freylin in that sense

#there’s passion and infatuation but it’s quick and desperate

#argwen is a slow-build over many years. argwen is enemies to friends to lovers in fact
