"Good morning, X," the large black cat said aloud, it's paws pressed heavily upon X's chest.
X stared with wide eyes at the feline they'd never seen before, "Am I dreaming?"
"No," the cat responded almost as though it wished X were dreaming. It sat, it's tail flicking back and forth. "But you're probably going to wish you were when you see what's happening outside."
"What?" X blinks, turning their head toward the window next to their bed. "What's going on?"
"Yeah, you know how black cats are supposed to be bad luck?" The cat drawled, orange eyes bored.
X tries to sit up unsuccessfully, the large animal heavier than they'd expected. "Yeah?"
"Well I think you just became very unlucky."
