"Remind me why we brought a human along?" X muttered, eyeballing the person in question. The human was cooing over a slobbering beast, petting its fur and calling it a 'good boy' while the rest of the crew looked on in horror.
Y shrugged, "Haven't you noticed? They don't seem to be afraid of anything. They just jump head-first into nearly any situation."
"That's not always a good thing," X sighed.
As X watched, the human suddenly got up from where it was crouched next to the slobber beast (whom the human called a 'doggo') and wandered into the brush.
"Don't get lost!" Y called after them with a groan.
A few minutes later, the human returned, "Hey, look what I found!"
Every gun in the area was suddenly trained on the huge beast trailing in the human's wake. It was grotesque, standing nearly twice as tall as the human themself, with dark crimson scales covering it's entire body. Its eyes were a warm shade of amber, slitted pupil like a claw scratch split down the middle. It was baring its huge pointed teeth in a terrible display of power, it's claws flexing and long tail lashing back and forth.
The human waved its arms in the air, standing between the expedition force and the monster, "No, don't shoot! He's friendly!"
