The Question is back in a new series this November, titled The Question: All Along The Watchtower. Alex Segura and Cian Tormey will chronicle Renee Montoya’s new job at the Justice League Unlimited Watchtower.
Out this week: The Question Omnibus (DC, $125):
This giant collection of stories featuring the Question includes not only the landmark series by Dennis O’Neil and Denys Cowan, but also the character’s appearances in places like The Brave and the Bold and Green Arrow, by creators like Kelley Puckett, Mike Grell, Mike Baron, Joe Quesada, Shea Anton Pensa and more.
On this day in 1992, Renee Montoya made her debut in Batman #475. She was created by Bruce Timm, Paul Dini and Mitch Brian for Batman: The Animated Series, but her in-comic debut happened before her on-screen debut.
Montoya, a Gotham City detective who frequently allied with Batman, starred in the excellent Gotham Central series before eventually becoming the new Question, selected by Vic Sage. More recently she replaced Jim Gordon as commissioner for the GCPD.
Happy Renee Montoya Day!
